  1. I need your help regarding the Affidavit of Support.

My wife is the principal applicant for F4 preference category. I am derivative beneficiary. Our PD is in 1st week of January, 2001. Our interview date is on June, 2012.

Our case was documentarily qualified in NVC on November, 2010. My wife’s elder sister is the petitioner. Petitioner and her husband filled up I-864 and I-864A forms, respectively. At that time, we had no child. So, in the I-864 and I-864A forms only me and my wife names were included.

Now, we have a baby (1 month+ old). So, my question is will I need to submit new I-864 and I-864A forms during the interview since my baby was not included in the previously submitted I-864 and I-864A forms?

I have collected the petitioner and her husband’s tax returns certificate for the years of 2010 and 2011.

    Thank you in advance.

  3. Dear all, here is my situation.

My wife is the principal applicant for F4 preference category. I am derivative beneficiary. Our PD is 1st week of January, 2001. Today we have received our interview date and the date is on June, 2012.

Our case was documentarily qualified in NVC on November, 2010. At that time, we had no child.

Our first baby born few weeks ago. I have sent the copies of my baby’s passport and birth certificate to the NVC 1 week ago.

Today in addition with the interview letter, I have also received another Email from NVC that they have already sent our files to the Tokyo US embassy and they cant do anything more about this issue. They mentioned that “please contact with Tokyo US embassy about inclusion of your baby with your immigration procedure”.

In the interview letter, only my wife and my names are included.

    So,

    (1) Do you have any suggestions/experience regarding my situation? What should I do? Off course I will contact with Tokyo US embassy soon. Unfortunately, 4 days national holidays has been started from today in Japan. So, during this time any of your suggestions will be very helpful for me.

    (2) I will do our medical on 14th or 15th May. Do I need to do my baby’s medical? He is 1 month + old. Moreover, as my baby’s name is not included in the interview letter, will it be a big issue during medical? In such cases, what usually doctors do? Will they do medical for my Baby?

Any of your experience/suggestions will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Dear Visagrant,

The following statements I have found in a previous thread of visajourney:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/89465-validity-of-police-certificate/

    9 FAM 42.65 N3 VALIDITY OF SUPPORTING

    DOCUMENTS AND APPLICATION FORM DS-

    230, APPLICATION FOR IMMIGRANT VISA

    AND ALIEN REGISTRATION

    (CT:VISA-914; 11-26-2007)

Supporting documents that are subject to change are valid for one year.

This time limitation applies to Form DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa

and Alien Registration, medical examinations and police certificates from any country visited or inhabited subsequent to the previous clearances. It does not apply to a birth certificate or a third country clearance or police

certificates from an area to which the alien has not returned since its

issuance. The affidavit of support (AOS) must be submitted within six

months of its signature by the supporting relative, however, it remains valid indefinitely. However, because the AOS is based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines in effect at the time of the visa issuance, it may need to be updated.

  6. Visagrant,

Could you please clarify more about the validity of the police certificates?

Based on the Vicky123's inquiry, your reply makes me confused.

I know that according to the US embassy/immigration website, the validity of the police certificate is 12 months. However, does he(vicky123) really need to collect his police certificate from UK (where he lived few years ago and submitted the certificate with DS230) once again if he have not visited/stayed there during the last one year? Could you please show some references about this matter?

In my understanding, if one year has expired then the applicant have to submit the police certificate/s for the places where he currently lived/stayed last one year. Does the applicant really need to collect all of his/her police certificates since the age of 16?

I might be wrong. But want to see some more references about this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

  7. Hi everybody.

I am very new to this forum and this is my first day here.

My visa preference category is F4. Priority date January 2001. Consulate - Tokyo US embassy.

Case completed in NVC on 29th November,2010. However, still have not received any interview letter from NVC.

  8. Hi, I am suvro and this is my first post in visajourney.

My visa preference category is F4. Priority date January 2001. Consulate - Tokyo US embassy. Case completed in NVC on 29th November,2010. However, still have not received any interview letter from NVC.

As my petition filed in USA, NVC will schedule my interview date. Last week I called NVC and the operator replied me that he have no information about my interview date and suggested me to wait few more days to get the interview date.

Do you have any idea, how long usually it takes to get a interview date in Tokyo US embassy? Thanks in advance for any of your suggestions or comments.
