They have written my wife's middle name wrong on her green card.
Should we call and tell them about the mistake, and how long will it take to replace the green card? She is leaving the country soon and we don't want to risk waiting too long for the replacement.
Thanks

my wife is going to be travelling back to her country (Russia) to visit parents. she is worried about problems with her foreign passport, her new married name, and her maiden name.
from a forum she reads, they say to use her russian passport to go into russia and then green card (or AOS) to get into USA. they also say to buy the plane tickets in her maiden name, so she has no problem getting into and leaving Russia.
here are our questions:
1) will she need a marriage certificate to prove change of name when leaving Russia--they will ask why she is leaving and she will say to go to her husband, so she uses this document to prove she is married. Does she need to have it translated into English?
2) what name to write in a declaration on the wasy back to US? ie. that paper you fill out before customs.
3) how to explain to customs why tickets are in maiden name? will it make a difference?

This is for a K-1 Visa, we've already married, filled out forms, etc.
Well first off we sent our AOS packet to the Texas Service Center. I used the guide posted here and I also read all the documentation myself -- I missed the part in the guide about Chicago and just paid attention to the forms, which led me to believe I should file in TX.
Anyway, I called customer service today and she said TX will either forward the packet to chicago or send it back. If anyone else has made this mistake I'd like to know how it went, and how much if any of a delay they received.
The basically told me to call back after 30 days since I sent the packet -- if I understand that right, she is basically saying they don't get to packets until around 3 weeks and then decide where they go, etc. So that is another 3+ weeks on all our form processing times (right?).
The second mistake was we didn't file our change of address. We filled out all the paperwork with our new address and while listening to the customer service recordings the guy said we have to file an AR-11. I told my wife this and she believes (from a forum she reads) that this will only delay the process even more. The first address we used was my family's address (where I used to live) and we can still get mail there and everything, and we are only living about 10 minutes away. But I guess my question is, will filing the change of address cause suspicion and perhaps delay for our AOS?
Thanks for any advice and responses!!
The second mistake was we didn't file our change of address.A quick addendum on this part.. The original address I'm talking about is what we filed her VISA petition with. We haven't filed anything with the old address once she arrived in the USA.

sorry I don't have time to search since I am very busy at work every day and we have no internet at home for the time being...
my (now) wife arrived on a K-1 and we got married the day after she got here..now we are working on her AOS
general question on all forms #1: do I put her Family Name as my last name, or her maiden name? there was only one form in the packet that asked for Maiden name...
general question #2: Alien number? I see on her I-94 what looks like an alien number: A########, but it doesn't say that is specifically it
Form I-765: Employment
question: on the Guide for getting a SSN, it mentions this employment form. should I just file this form with the AOS or with the SSN?
Form I-485: Register Permanent Residence
Nonimmigrant Visa Number -- I assume this is her K-1 Visa #.. and on her K-1 Visa there is a Control Number, and some numbers by themselves in Red.. my wife believes her Visa # is the number in Red, is that correct?
and finally, we are all around confused about the medical part of this process. she had a medical examination in Moscow, and she had some sort of document about it..but the Customs lady in Denver took the entire sealed envelope with all the evidence and papers. we have no proof of vaccines, or anything medical related basically.
it seems she will need to get an examination here (vacciness too?) and file the I-693 since we have no documentation.
finally, how do we find the CIS accredited doctors? do we find out after we file the AOS packet, or before, etc...
thanks greatly in advance for any help.. obviously this is all very important for us
another quick question...
her birth certificate: it's not exactly easy to come across a certified russian-english translator. she is an english teacher herself and can do the translation flawlessly -- is this acceptable? has anyone filed a birth certificate without a certified translator?

my fiancee is an english teacher (speaks better than me!) and was wondering if she can do her own translation on her birth certificate
she has already got the rest of her documents officially translated
it sounded fine to me but I just wanted to be sure!

Thanks for the replies!
But now she is worried about her country (Russia) not recognizing the I-155 stamp on her return to USA. Is anyone familiar with a case where this has been a problem?
She will be leaving in December; would it be wiser to wait until she returns (January) to file the I-90? Or is it more important that we file as soon as possible?
