Tiferny, yes that is exactly what they told me about getting the oath taking letter the same day, my appointment was around 930 am.

Abo, was your interview in San Fernando Valley or San Francisco? That is sad to hear, hopefully you hear something back soon. That happened to me during my Adjustment of Status interview three years ago, the decision was not made and I was told that I would hear back within 30 days. My lawyer at that time did an infopass 30 days later from my interview three years ago, a day or so later I got an email notification saying that my AOS application has been approved. The next day I got another notice that my card was under production. Good luck and I hope you hear from USCIS very soon.

Tiferny yes my interview was at the San Fernando Valley Office. The interview went well the officer that interviewed me was really friendly but very detailed. He tested me on reading and writing, and also civics/history questions. After the test we went into detail with my applications. Overall it was good experience and the officer made it even easier. BTW how did you know it was the SFV office?

My Interview was today and approved. They had me wait in the waiting for another hour to wait for my interview notice, they wanted to hand deliver it to me, my oath taking is on the 21st of May. My long journey is now almost complete, I feel so blessed today. And good luck to those who are still waiting.

When I had my interview I was given a piece of paper that stated the following "Please inquire after 30 days. An adjudicative review is required of your case is needed, No additional required information is needed from you at this time." Did you received some documents from the IO stating what I mentioned above? You should probably do an info pass if you do not receive anything after the 60th day from your interview. I did an infopass after the 30th day and a few days later I got my Green Card. I would hang in there and just wait it out, I know how it feels, I felt sad and a little frustrated, but I eventually got it. BTW they did not take my I94.

The same happen to me, The I-30 was still showing initial review, but I would not worry about it. Because you or your sponsor will get something in the mail in the next few days that the I-30 has been approve. And within 10 days you will get your green card. At least that is what happen to me. Congratulations, don't worry about it to much.

Beginning to think that there is pattern with the LA office that they tend to not approve you on the spot, at least for some of us. Because my experience was the same thing interview went smooth but was handed a piece of paper saying adjudicative review needed please follow up within 30 days. Did an info pass after 30 days and now has a 10 year green card in hand.

Yeah it just seems strange entering the country you are a citizen of and they stamp it. Plus both my wife's and I passport are both Biometrics so they scanned it into the computer. But it is probably a good thing to get it stamp shows that you entered back.

So I was just curious recently I went to Vancouver Canada with my USC wife and Daughter, and I, the LPR. When we entered back the US we were processed in Vancouver Canada, by customs and immigration for US. Do they normally stamp the USC passport, because they stamp my wife's and daughter's? I know that they have to stamp mine since I have a non US passport? A few months ago my wife and daughter went to Canada without me and at that time they did not stamp their passport, so was just curious, it is probably just a random thing they do. Has anynone else experience this upon entering US?

Here is a summary of my interview experience and I was also interviewed in Los Angeles, hope this helps:

After the interview our lawyer was given a piece of paper from the IO. Please inquire after 30 days. "An adjudicative review is required of your case is needed, No additional required information is from you at this time." The IO was telling our lawyer that this was just for formality and for us to use to follow up on. Our lawyer was saying that within a week we will get a decission and not to worry about it. The IO was telling us that there was no problem for me that we will get approve and that she believes our marriage was true.

Here is a summary of our interview experience:

Got to the LA office and waited for our lawyer in the lobby. Lawyer arrive and we all went up together on the sixth floor, was redirected back to the basement, they were doing renovations. Got to the basement, pack with people and our lawyer handed our appointment paper over. Within half an hour I got called in. Brought my wife and lawyer with me and I introduce them to the IO officer.

1. Swore in by the IO

2. Sat down and handed over our Identifications and Passports

3. Handed over marriage license, my wife and I have been married for five years

4. Ask if we had children we said yes, we said one, asked for daughters birth certificate, asked if she was born in the US, we said yes, ask how old she was, we said 2.5 years

5. Then asked for our joint documents such as bills and deed of trust

6. Then started asking me question about the application such as:

a. When did I enter the country last

b. My parents name

c. And the standard question about crime, organizations, and firearms etc.

We also informed the officer that we have copies of everything. Then she said give her a few minutes to look over the paper work and wait in the lobby for her. Before we left my lawyer asked her if she wanted to look at our albums, pictures, and letters. The officer said no, she said this "I believe these two are married". All in all it took no longer than ten minutes for the interview.

After waiting in the lobby for 10 minutes, she came out and handed over the passport and Identification cards back. She then handed my lawyer the paper mentioned above, and said not to worry they will get approve. I also noticed that I got my EAD card back and that I still have original I-94.

My experience was the same, my lawyer ended up doing an info pass after 30 days. Have my green card in hand now and have used it to travel to visit relatives in Canada. Just be patient, and best of luck to you.

My wife and I were married in 2006 and we just filed last year. I had a lawyer though because my overstay was quite long, and also for my own peace of mind. You should not have a problem filing since your spouse is USC. I got my green card a month ago and the only hiccups we had was, that I was not approved on the spot, but had to wait a month and after filing and going to an info pass. Also just as long as you can show your marriage is "Bona Fide" you should not have any issues.

Since it was already stated on this Thread that "None of Us are Lawyers" My suggestion is if you can afford it, is to asked for Legal Advice or Hire a Lawyer. They can help you more than we can. I hired a lawyer through my immigration process and although at times I had my doubts about hiring a lawyer in the end I was glad I did. I know this is not a popular belief in this forum, but in your situation the best advice is Legal Advice, not from a forum.

Did they cash the check for the I-485? When you did your finger printing and picture, was it for both I-485 and I-765 the EAD card? Just curious because our time line is pretty close but my case is in Los Angeles. If you filed an I-485 and I-130 at the same time I would not travel out of the country even if you have an AP, my lawyer advised me of this.

You should replace it so that Status at the Social Security Office is also change to Permanent Resident.
