I failed to mention that he has already been issued a social security number, and will file a US federal income tax return for calendar year 2010.

I am the US Fiance of a Canadian Citizen who is working and living in the US on a TN visa. We assume his TN will be renewed in Nov 2011, when it expires. Would it be better/easier to apply for a K1 fiance visa, or wait until after we are married (which will probably be in 2012), and apply for the K3 Spouse visa?

He has already been issued a social security number, and will file a US Federal income tax return for calendar year 2010, if that makes any difference...
