We stayed at the Burrard Inn in Vancouver. It was 2 doors down from the Medical & about 8 blocks down from West Pender street where the Consulate is. The hotel was under renovations but was clean & only $59.95 (CAD) per night. Great front desk people very helpful.

oh gosh i didn't notice you had written that until now. My fiance reserved Days Inn downtown i think it was called. It's also very close to the medical. but 120 a night! oh well :)

I have heard the Days Inn is a good one to stay at. Close to the consulate, but not so close to Woking Medical clinic. You may want to get a cab there as it will be a short walk, but maybe not so comfortable at 6am. I booked in at the Sandman on Davie so I could easily walk, but it costs about the same per night ($120). I think that is standard for a 3 star hotel in downtown van.
