I received my email notification today that I have been put in line for my Oath ceremony...now to wait for the letter to come! I hope that I don't have to wait long.

I was surprised when I saw my email today, because I had submitted an inquiry into my case about why it was taking so long, and I have just received a letter that it was still being processed. Then today I got an email saying the status updated to Oath Ceremony.

I had my interview on Jan 13, and they requested additional documentation because somewhere along the line, I was registered to vote without my knowledge or consent. I explicitly told the SOS each time we moved that I DID NOT want to be registered because I am not a citizen, but somewhere along the line, someone did it anyway. I was required to gather proof from each county I lived in showing that I never voted and proof that my registration was cancelled, as well as a letter from the county prosecutor saying they wouldn't press charges. I was able to get all this information (from 3 counties) and submit it a few days after my interview. The whole process was VERY frustrating, since it wasn't even my fault that I was registered in the first place. I haven't heard anything from them since then...still waiting for an oath ceremony....now 2 months after my interview! hoping to hear something soon...

I am scheduled for my interview finally! I received my interview letter before Christmas. I can't remember the exact date right now. I will update it later.

I was finally placed in line for an interview, and then I received notice that I have been scheduled for an interview. Now I wait for the letter to arrive....

I had my fingerprint appointment on Aug 27th, and I still haven't heard anything about an interview or being in line for an interview. I did receive a yellow letter telling me what I will need to bring to my interview, but my online status still says "we received your application August 1, 2014..."

My field office is Detroit.

Updated my information. Completed my finger print appointment on Wednesday. It was scheduled for 1pm but I went in the morning and was able to get them done before 10am without any questions.

Hi, my application was sent in July 30 to the Phoenix Lockbox , and I received my notification on August 14. I received my finger print/biometrics letter on Aug 19 and my appointment is for Aug 27 in Detroit. Can I just walk in and do my appointment earlier or do I need to call ahead? Thanks!

visa approved!! I had my interview in Montreal this morning and was done before 9:30am! I will post a review soon!

if you are looking for a cheap place to stay, the residences at McGill university are a good option. I have an interview on June 2nd and I'm flying in on the 1st but not leaving until the 3rd because of the way the flights worked out. It's going to be about $90 total for both nights...you can just go to their website to get info: http://www.mcgill.ca/students/housing/summer/bmh-rvc/ and it's only about a 10 minute walk to the consulate.

I have most of my documents already gathered. I will need to print off some pictures and get a couple documents from our co-sponsor as well as do my medical exam. My interview is schedule for 8am, but I plan to be there much earlier!

Finally got a case complete at the NVC today! Now just to wait for an interview.

Well, I am definitely feeling discouraged and frustrated...

I called an operator last night because it's been over 20 business days since we sent our paperwork in and there has been no update. She told me that it still doesn't show that they have received any of our stuff! REALLY?!?! We've already had to resend it twice, and they still can't find it??? She said she would put in a request for them to review our case, but that we should re-submit our documents again. The NVC now has 4 copies of our documents. 4! Each time we have submitted we have received confirmation that they got it. We are doing electronic processing, which I thought was supposed to be faster, but it seems to have caused us more problems....

I'm discouraged. People who began their NVC journey after us are seeing CC and SIF.

I just don't know what to do anymore....

Okay thanks on the SSN#. I am actually back in Canada today to finalize things up here. I'll be making the final move on March 17th...woot!

So, when they stamp your passport at the border, it acts like a temporary green card? You can cross in an out freely with it?

NVC operator said our case has been received but isn't in the system yet, hence no case # assigned yet.

My question is, once I do have a case #, where are you guys finding the status updates such as 'in process' and 'paid'? I don't see anywhere to look for updates on the NVC webpage.

Once you have your NVC case number AND your Invoice ID number (can get both from the operator), go to this page: https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx

This is where you will log in and pay your fees. The status updates you're referring to have to do with the payment of the fees.

What the hell going onto NVC? My mom's IV packet mail received by NVC on 2/22, but NVC Op kept telling me that wait 20 business days to put IV packet into the system...Many of Vjer's has their packet into system within 3-7 days from NVC received mail....I am going down..Anyone has shed some light on that???

I'm still waiting for mine to get entered...if that makes you feel any better. They seem to be pretty backed up. It is frustrating though!

I had to re-send my documents again today as per operator's suggestion since they still haven't received/reviewed either package that I sent more than 2 weeks ago. I'm just hoping NVC got a lot of emails and they just haven't gotten to our initial AOS email and that I'll hear something very soon.

I had to re-send my documents too on the 18th...and the AVR is still saying they are "waiting for the biographic forms from the petitioner." I am getting impatient! haha I just want a case complete!

Ok, so i'm confused...

I called the NVC to get out case number and INN number and give them our emails.

We received email correspondence from them including a letter telling us to pay the AOS fee online. We did that and also received the DS3032 by email.

When I logged in online, to CEAC, I saw that I could submit DS-261, which I did. As soon as the AOS fee went through, we mailed our I-864 express mail.

The IV fee became available and we paid that.

Then the DS-260 was generated online. I emailed our civil documents by PDF after submitting the DS-260.

We got a couple emails including one that says:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC has received documentation for this case. As soon as this file has been reviewed, notification will be sent.

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process."

and includes our NVC number, and the Montreal Consulate information. We're filing for a CR1

I called NVC today to make sure everything was going right, and the guy i talked to said they had no record of me trying to do electronic processing and that until I did that my case wouldn't be processed. We WEREN'T trying to do electronic processing, but since we're going through Montreal, I think we HAVE to submit the DS-260?

Right now, they have record of me submitting the choice of agent online, and our fees are paid...

Then he started to get rude...so now I don't know what to do...

HELP!
