  1. Hi Citiwifegirl, It seems you were able to solve this situation and it was a while ago. I am in the same situation right now. My mother lived illegally in Spain and at the interview in Bogota they asked her today that she needed to provide a certificado de antecedentes penales from Spain which is not available for illegal residents of Spain. Could you please let me know what you did to replace this requirement?

    Thanks,

  2. Hello, my mother had her visa interview in Bogota today and she was asked to provide a police report when she lived in Spain for over 6 months. Problem is she was there illegally and never had a residency card. Does anyone know if a person who lived illegally in Spain is allowed to request a Certificado de Antecedentes Penales in Spain? I know if you don't currently live there you can get a legal representative who can request it for you, however I am wondering if it that is the case for someone who lived there illegally.

Thanks so much in advance, any info you can provide on this topic will be greatly appreciated, as of now my mother's process is on hold due to this missing document :help:

  3. Hello, I am applying for my mother to come live in the US, she currently lives in Medellin. Around Dec 15, 2010 I learned that the case and paperwork had been sent from the NVC to the Bogota Embassy so the next step is the interview. They stated that when an interview slot becomes available and an interview date has been scheduled, the designated representative of this case (applicant, petitioner, or attorney) will be notified. However I was wondering if anyone has any idea how long the wait will be. Is it weeks, months, years? I am totally lost here. She wasn't scheduled for Jan 2011 and was wondering if it is going to take a while?

    Thanks,

    Cat
