-

-
Congratulations !!! i also picked up my visa on 11th maybe i saw your husband
-
Thanks Tero , your proof of relationship advice was really helpful.
-
Hi everyone , picked up my passport with a shiny new visa today ! Hooray !
-
Tell him to check the cover of his immunization record book, some of the hospitals write your passport number on it.
-
Dear anthokad , didnt the CO tell you not to make any travel plans until you've picked up your visa ? Hahahahahaha
-
Midge.mij, did you also go through the same thing ?
-
Yep it is, on the slip it says " Visa collection ticket" with date and time. It also advises the holder not to make any travel plans because they sometimes have delays.
Btw im talking about the accra consulate
-
Yep sometimes the slips aren't such a good thing, the white slip means the CO is would have declined your petition outright but he has follow proceedure and give you a second chance !! The yellow slip means they are almost done, they just need one last document e.g your medical/police report has expired, or they need tax transcripts for some years. When you get the white slip , you are looking at an interview date of 5 months or more in the future , on the yellow slip its just 2 weeks or one month. In countries where they don't trust the postal system to deliver your passport with the visa, they ask you to pick it up yourself hence the blue slip.

I think it depends on the consulate. At the consulate in Accra Ghana, white means ur petition has been temporarily refused (221g) it has a list of what other documents they need and a new interview date. Yellow means they require some last document to reach a final decision on your case ( usually a good sign)it has a new interview date on it . Blue is a visa collection/pickup ticket you get this after a succesful interview, it has a date and time on it to pick up your visa.
-
Thanks man, so after a succesful interview and you've been given the blue slip, they can still deny the visa ?
-
Hi fellow VJers, can someone who has already gone through the proccedure please describe the visa collection/pickup process at the Accra consulate to me ? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, my ward just completed his interview and his asked to bring my IRS transcripts for 2008, 2009 before his visa can be issued. I had travelled to Ghana within that period and since I was not employed during that time I did not file. Is there a letter I can take from the IRS to verify this or is there any other method ?

hey Quesi,
Congrats on your interview for your son....well my son and i are also waiting for an interview date since April 2010 (IR2-Visa category). i was wondering how many months did it take for you to get an interview date for him (from case completion to interview date). Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
Sorry for the delay in replying Well it took about a year from the posting of the alien registration form to the day we received an interview date. That is from August 2009 - August 2010. You can take the long wait to start gathering evidence and starting the DNA testing procedure just be on the safe side.

MY son has got his Interview coming up soon, wish us luck

Thanks to everybody who responded with advice so far, im still stuck on the phone records issue. Read in another thread that a woman took a bag full of phone records, do i need that much ?

Who paid for the boarding schools ? Do you have anything from the school ? Grade reports or such ?
i paid for the boarding school and yes we have reports from school. As to the phone records should i print from across the years or just select a particular year and print the monthly report ?
-
They are looking for a time-line of evidence to show that you have always been a part of your child's life, not just the time period to enable him to migrate to the US. This evidence will be very crucial to your case.
He handles all business affairs back in Ghana should he take receipts and the like(on which he has signed on my behalf) along ?
-
Thanks guys, this is his 2nd interview and i dont want anything to go wrong, so i'm going to do my best to add all the evidence i can get my hands on. Wish us luck!

Hi everyone, I'm a new member here and don't know how things are done but i'm hoping someone can help me out. After a 5 year Journey, My son finally had an interview in august where he was told by the CO that he need to prove his relationship to me. As per instructions we've completed the DNA testing and are waiting for the new interview which has been scheduled for January 2011. In his 221g, he was asked to bring letter, phone records, cards, remittance slips,photos.... This is where the problem is lies.(1) My son grew up in boarding schools so there hadn't that many chances for photos so we only have about 15 together through the ages (2) Apart from some good lucks i sent him for his exams, here aren't any letters (3) Our main mode of communication is through the telephone and apart from the land-line,the mobile service providers dont print out call records unless you produce a police report.
So my question is will this evidence be enough or do does he need more?
