How long after their interview did your FIL and MIL get their oath letter. I see my interview was before theirs and I'm sill waiting for the letter (though I did get the text/email that it had been generated).

It was only a few weeks; and then it took less than a week after we got the text/e-mail notification.
Sorry it is taking so long, hopefully your letter will come soon!

Both in-laws passed their history/English tests yesterday; MIL is clear for the ceremony however FIL was marked "decision could not be made". Officer said just a technicality as supervisor was not available to sign off on something in his file. She said it should not delay his ceremony date, and that they will do their best to make their ceremonies on the same date. We'll see:)

After calling several times and initially being blown off and then opening a case, and after making a subsequent online inquiry, I was finally put in line for an interview today. It only took 3 months and 10 days! I hope that they'll make up for the lost time by scheduling the interview soon...

Just the first email to tell me that my case was received. I routinely check online, and the status hasn't changed since early October: "Case was received."
Wow, that does seem odd that you haven't heard anything but it sounds like short of calling the customer service line back with your concerns and/or scheduling an info pass appointment you have done what you can do.

No, there's no date listed on the yellow letter to call them on if I haven't gotten the appointment letter. It just says to bring 1. marriage documents, 2. driver's license, and 3. old passports.
I called to ask about last week, and the guy told me that there was nothing wrong that he could see, but that I just needed to wait. It's really odd, though, since almost everyone else seems to have gone "in line" a few days after the biometrics, or a little over a month in the worst case. It's been about two and a half months, and still no change in status for me.
And you have received any e-mail or text updates either?

Starting to get really worried, since I'm still not even in line for an interview yet...
Did the yellow letter or your e-notice give a date to call them if you haven't received your letter? That date would give you an idea of approximately when your interview will be scheduled for.
What additional information did they ask for in the yellow letter? I am wondering if that might have something to do with the delay.
You can always give them a call or schedule an info pass appointment if all else fails.

Hey ...so we contacted UPS, surprisingly they had handed our package to USPS (after 12 days
). We were given usps tracking number. It was delivered on 14th of november friday! What a relief!! but then i just noticed that it says its delivered to Phoenix AZ 85034 .. whereas the zipcode that i wrote was 85036. I read couple of previously threads on VJ, and people did seem to have this issue but it was all good and they did get through the next steps... Did any of you also exerience this too?? Can any one post a screenshot of their tracking thru USPS (to phoenix lockbox) … Please i really need some reassurance

I think the difference in zip code might be 85034 being for "express commercial delivery" like UPS or Fed Ex and the 85036 is for regular and priority mail for USPS; still seems opposite of what you described happened (UPS transfer to USPS) however I am betting it will get to the right place and you will received confirmation soon hopefully. Did you include the request for electronic confirmation (text/e-mail) with your submission?

Thanks for the replies regarding the electronic notifications for biometrics; we received an e-mail & text for case update (biometrics) for both on 11/6 and they received their letters on 11/7.
Of course in the ultimate wisdom of USCIS they scheduled them for different days so we are going to try a walk-on for one of them and see what happens.

We did receive just yesterday evening the texts and e-mail updates for the biometrics letters being sent out; now we are hoping it is any day but November 19th because we have no one to take them that day.

In-laws are approaching their 5 year mark as LPR's and now want to apply for citizenship. In April 2013 they were both arrested for shoplifting at a thrift store for about $20 worth of merchandise. They were released to my wife and I with no charges filed, no fines, and trespass warnings saying they could no longer shop at the store.
We just received original police reports that clearly states no charges were filed and "visa letters" from our town showing they have clear records.
We will answer "yes" to question 23 in part 11 and give explanation that no charges were filed n number 29 and attach all police documents.
Does anyone know if this incident can cause the applications to be denied due to the "good moral character" requirement?

Marina and I are trying to understand the "means-tested" benefits that her parents are NOT eligible for; here is the most recent information we could find but it conflicts with other information we have found on the Internet, including the attached official USCIS memorandum issued in 1999. Does anyone know the current guidelines on what is and what is not considered means tested benefits under the I-864 contract?

Ok, now I am in hot water because apparently these are not prescription drugs they want to bring with them, but actually are over the counter medications that are not prescribed. The doctor tells them they need it but there is no written prescription
Does anyone know if there is a limit or if these types of medications are prohibited from bringing into the US?

Marina's parent's are moving here and are planning on bringing their personal medications with them with their names on them (prescriptions) but will be bringing like a year's supply. Do you think this will be a problem? Anyone with experience with this they could share?

Awesome, congrats!
The ceremony took less than 2 hours and they actually had two passport representatives at the ceremony to take questions on passports and they also gave information on people needing expedited passports too so you should be in good shape.
