  1. Hi!!

Don't be angry! you'll be fine, when i came in USA in April 27th, I applied for my social security card on May 2011. It was on my maiden name because they want to see the Green Card first then they can put your Married name on the Social Security Card, So last month i received my Green Card, I went to Social Security Office with my husband on August 23rd, We told them we need to change my maiden name to married name. So all Done now! I got my Social Security Card with my married name on it by mail on September 12.

They need to see your Green card first so that they can put your married name on the social security card.

we wish you best of luck!!

  2. I would argue this point. I think DMV employees may fight for the first place!

    :ot2:

After marriage I went to SS administration again to change the name.. They said they will send new card ASAP.. Nothing in the mail for 2 months! My wife got a Green Card!! On her NEW MARRIED name! So, we went again and they said they cannot issue SS because in the computer on the USCIS page it says both maiden and married name! I said : "HERE IS THE GREEN CARD!! IT STATES ONLY HER MARRIED NAME!!" Nothing.. still waiting for a new card....

I am waiting for my SSN too, I had my SSN card with my maiden name on it before, now I got approved AOS by the USCIS 3 weeks ago and I received my green card 2 weeks ago. My husband and I went to the Social Security Office to inform them my maiden name to married name on my SSN card, So they said they will inform the Department Homeland Security about it, now i am waiting for my SSN card with my married name on it too. It does take time though.

  3. Hi,

When i had my interview, it went good and the consular officer was a female, she was very friendly and she asked me like 12 questions i thought she was just chatting with me because she was asking me in a nice way. i answered all my questions in a friendly way. It went all okay and trust me if you know your love very well and you really love him/her and you have all your documents present in front of the consular officer, you won't have any problem at all.

We wish you all the best.

  5. Hi!

If you're pregnant, It's not good to do Chest X-Ray because that can kill your baby because of Radiation. But you need to ask a doctor before going to your medical exams. when i had my medical examination, They told me i am not pregnant which is good, and they also said if i was pregnant it would be a disaster and i would have to wait after i get the baby then do the medical examination.

My husband and i before we married we were fiance, so we were hoping everything will be alright. So we did it! :) But trust me Pregnancy during your medical examination it depends which country you are. I am from Mauritius island and I went to do my interview in Kenya. So it's different there. So probably it's different in your country too.

I wish you all the best and wish you all the success in your life !!

  6. Hi!

It will be nice if you go there. It helps the interview. They won't deny your fiance interview even if you don't go there, but it's more good if the consular officer can see you are both genuine in your relationship.

My husband and I before we were married we were fiance, he came with me, and it really helps. One thing for sure, he was waiting outside and he was not allowed to be in the interview room.

I did my interview in kenya i am origin from Mauritius island.

It will be okay if you don't go to haiti, but make sure you have all documents required for k1 visa.

we wish you all the best xxx

  7. I am the beneficiary.

I married 2 months ago, and trust me this is the dirtiest thing to do, I love my husband so much. Well as you are a woman US citizen you must take legal action against the man who betrayed you. I won't say it's your husband as he is not!! He doesn't deserve to be your husband. He should be punished!!! If i were you, I would kick him out and report this to the cops and report it to the immigration officer of what he did. I feel your pain, I wish i could give you a big hug.

    Stay strong!!

    Hugs!!

  8. Hi all! My fiance had her K-1 visa interview yesterday (April, 20th) at the US embassy in Nairobi and was APPROVED!!! I just thought i would post a few things on here about it for those interested.

First of all, this embassy is currently undergoing many changes in its system so those with interviews coming up may have a slightly different expiriance than my fiance and I. The 1st major change was the schedualing system for appointments in which applicants no longer call the embassy to schedual interviews. It is all done online through a website or by calling the people running the website. Also, NO interview can be schedualed whatsoever without first paying the visa application fee at either a post bank in Kenya or by something called MPESA which is exclusively for Kenya residents only. This part really sucked for us since my fiance is from Mauritius which is about 2000 miles from Kenya. She had to fly all the way to Nairobi just so she could pay the fee and schedual her interview. Then she had to sit around in a country she had never been to before and wait for her interview. Luckily we were able to get her an interview date within a week of paying the fee.

I will write a full review of the embassy and what happened at the interview on my timeline so feal free to check it out. Just a few pointers on some things here though.

---They DO NOT allow the US citizen petitioner in with their fiance at all. I was able to get past the 1st security checkpoint to an area with a few benches outside a second security entrance but that was all. I have a fealing they will soon change this to where the US citizen is not allowed past the 1st checkpoint as well because it seemed like i was getting in the way a little while others were waiting to go in.

---Even though the appointment letter my fiance got from the schedualing website stated that her interview was on April 19th, it was not. That date was for drop of only. Meaning she just goes in and drops off her application forms then has her interview the fallowing day.

---Prepair to be very patient. My fiance waited about 3 hours just to drop off her documents and about 4 hours for her interview. All the while i was sitting outside on a cold metal bench.

---Bring a smile and good attitude with you. It seemed like they really liked the fact that my fiance and i were so polite and friendly. It may not have helped get the approval but it sure didn't hurt.

---The counsulers are all english speaking Americans and it seemed like they get very upset when they cannot understand the person they are interviewing. So if you don't speek english very well, i suggest having your fiance help you learn a little better or bring an interpreter. My fiance was pretty sure she noticed a few people get denied that did not have an interpreter and did not speak much english at all.

Thats it for now. I will post a long, more descriptive review on the embassy review section of my timeline.

Good luck to you all and may you have a safe and very successfull Visa Journey!

  9. Hi all,

My I129-F petition was approved yesterday almost 6 hours after putting in a service request. My fiancee and i are very excited to finally be able to move on with the process. My petition was filed back in October and i did not find this website until around November so i hired a lawyer since i knew nothing about the process. After finding this site i became very worried that my petition would get an RFE or be put in AP.

    Here are the reasons why:

    1. According to what i read on here i did NOT include the long form birth certificate with my petition, i only sent the short form, and i only sent the information page and visa stamp page of my passport. I did NOT send ALL pages of my passport. So i thought for sure i would get an RFE for this.

    2. My Fiancee is a Mautitius citizen and had been living in the UK for 5 years when i went to UK and met her face to face. This meeting in the UK was our 1st and is what i sent to the USCIS to prove we met in person. I sent in everything my lawyer told me to prove i went there to meet her(bording pass, itenerairy, passport stamp, 8 dated photoes of us with descriptions). I DID NOT send any proof that my fiance was in the UK other than the photos. I did have her place of residence on the biographical form as in UK but no primairy evidence of that. According to what i read on here i have seen where people get an RFE because they need to prove that both of them were in the same country at the same time with more than just photoes so i thought for sure i would get an RFE for that.

    3. On the I129-F form i had to check the box for "YES" i did have a criminal record of 3 or more drug or alcohol offenses because of some minor convictions i had several years ago. My lawyer had me call and get these records from the court clerks office to send along with my petition. When i did this they sent me the records but it only had 2 of the convictions on it and i was told the others were exponged from my record for being so long ago and so minor. I had the clerk put this in writing and sign it for me to send along with the criminal record to send with my petition. After reading on this website i saw that some people were being put on admin. processing and they did not even have a criminal record at all(or at least thats what they say on here). So i thought for sure i would get put on AP for this. I am sure it will get brought up at the interview for my fiancee so i told her ALL the details of my convictions.

So with ALL these things going through my head day after day and calling my lawyer to ask why he did not have me send in the right documents i finally get the best result possible at this stage, PETITION APPROVED!!! So now i start to think, was i just lucky or was i worried for no reason? I know i probably should just forget about it and thank god i got approved but i always have to wonder about these things.

I hope this may help some people that are in the situation i was in and hope that people don't drive themselves too crazy about these things like i did.

Good luck to you all on your journey!!!
