  1. When I was getting my passport renewed, I was claiming lost or stolen, my consualte asked me to go to the police and get a report done. I did, and the officer wouldnt do it, as it wasnt a Canadian Passport. I went back to my consulate, and they said I had to attempt to prove that I had requested it and sent me back to the police to get a letter stating that they wouldnt give it to me. Well, they wouldnt give me the letter either. So I took his business card and had him write his police ID number on it. I sent a letter to my consualte showing the phone numbers I called, the dates and time I talked to anyone, the fact that the officer wouldnt give me a letter and I submitted his business card.

Sometimes you just cant get the things you need from others, but at least try, be thorough in your explanation letter, and ask you HR person for her card and tell her youre submitting it to Homeland Security because she wont give you a employment letter.

Also for my AOS, we didnt send in a employment letter, it was a contract dispute between 2 companies and it was complicated as to whom my husband really worked for. We sent in a explanation letter instead and 6 weeks worth of paystubs. We never got an RFE for it.

I hope this helps in giving you some ideas on how to get around the letter that you cant get.

thanks all for the reply..he already went to his HR and explain where its needed and he even showed the Affidavit of Support form and also the instruction of I-134F where the employment letter was stated but still the HR was so hard to understand and wont give :( he will try to talk to the manager and see if he could help (i hope!) if not then maybe we will just follow what you did..get her card and attached that to an explanation letter

THANKS FOR THE TIPS GUYS.... (F)

  2. :help: how important is the employment letter as supporting docs to I-134F? My fiance' have a problem with his company's HR..they don't want to give him the said verification letter..they said its because of the information laws in the US..they could not disclose the information of their employees as they might be sued.. :crying: is his current pay stubs will suffice?

thanks for all your help (F)

  3. Who said insufficient amount? Was the package opened? Or was it returned because you didn't put enough postage on the package for it to be mailed and thus was returned by the post office, itself?

package was already received by the uscis but was returned by them with a letter saying that the amount on the check is lacking..they said we can resubmit once we corrected it..our check is already $340 that is why we're confused how come they returned our application..

i just need confirmation from those recently filed a k1 visa is it $340 or still $455?

i'm looking for a visa update or official statement that the filing fee was reduced to $340 but couldn't found 1. any links pls

  4. Well I just looked on USCIS for you and as far as I know it has not changed back to $455

yah i looked that over and over again and we can't go wrong with that..he wrote $340 and made it payable US Dept Of Homeland Security..we made sure that we followed the instructions.

anyway, someone here who also have filed a k1 visa recently (2011)?? any info pls
