  1. Anyone of you experienced getting a police clearance in ABU DHABI and staying here in the Philippines?

do I need to fill up a form? and where can I get it?

    God Bless!

    Hi there!

this is what it says in the travel state website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9666#docs

    Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

You can visit the website and check the reciprocity by country. :) hope that helps..

  2. hello VJ members! We got our I-129f approved last July 6,when my fiance called NVC to ask for the Manila case number, they gave him Abu Dhabi case number instead though i wrote Manila US embassy in the I-129f form.My problem is my residence visa in the UAE will be expired on September 16,2011.Abu dhabi US embassy will be the one who will set an interview for the applicants and until now i don't hear from them yet.If ever there's a delay we will consider to route our case to Manila US embassy. My question is where are we going to make request for our case to be transferred?how long would it take?thank you

    Hi there!

We had mine rerouted also from Abu dhabi to Manila since i went home. The case got approved and i received the notice from AUH for my interview schedule. We called them and asked if the case can be transferred to Manila since i am already in PI and there is no way that i can continue the process in AUH. They told us to contact MNL embassy and ask them to send a request to AUH embassy to transfer my case. We then received an email from AUH embassy that the case was transferred to MNL and wait for 8 weeks for it to arrive. But all in all, it took 1 month 3 weeks for us to receive the notice from MNL embassy that they already have my case and im good to schedule my interview and medical which im going to do on monday. Also, the case number will still be AUH. Its a long wait but i know its all worth it.. :) Hope that gives u an idea.. :)

  3. Hi Everyone! hope someone can help me..

We received our approval last May 12. Originally, my consulate is Abu Dhabi, but then i went back to my home country which is the Philippines due to the Political turmoil happening in the Middle East. I was back here in my country since April 2. My Fiance sent Vermont a letter to change my address and consulate, he was then advised to wait for 30 days for Vermont to send the notification that they were able to change it, Now, after 30 days my Fiance called Vermont and they told him that they dont know anything about it and he was advised to do an info pass which he did. So we thought after the info pass that everything is okay already since the lady told him that they already change it and that to wait for the notification. The problem is, when he received the hard copy of NOA 2, it still indicate that the consulate is Abu Dhabi, how can we change it? its already been 7 days since we received our approval. Whom shall we call?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and congratulations to all January filers who received their NOA2!!!

  4. Hi there! we are on the same boat except that my case is not with the NVC yet as far as we know.. but then, when we received our approval last MAy 12, it still says Abu Dhabi Consulate and i am back in the Philippines. When i arrived Philippines, my Fiance sent out a letter to Vermont to change my address and consulate, he even went to a field service center for an infopass to change it, yet nothing was done. Now our problem is also changing it since we already have the approval. Hope anyone from the VJ people can help us.

  5. Hello fellow January filers! :P

    this is a bit off-topic :help::help::help:

just need some help to anyone who can give one..

Here's the case: I am the beneficiary and i am currently working here in UAE. WIth all the things that are happening in the middle east, me and my fiance decided that i should go home to my country which is the Philippines. My questions are:

    1. how are we going to transfer the consulate from Abu DHabi to Manila? will it be by writing? call USCIS? fax them? (also, what are the details they need or paperworks)

    3. will it affect the process time since it will be transferred?

    2. do i need to get a police certificate for UAE since i stayed here for more than 6 mos?

please help me guys since im going to leave UAE soon.

thank you all in advance! :D

  6. Currently, we are processing our petition and waiting for the NOA2. I put the US General Consulate in Abu Dhabi UAE to process my visa application once the petition is approved as I am presently residing and working here. My concern is that when I get the approval of my visa, I want to go home to the Philippines to see my family and will start my journey from there going to the USA (i.e. Philippines to USA). Can I do that or do I have to return to UAE and will start my journey?

Another thing, can I start my vaccination even if there's no assurance when our petition gets approve? Will physicians entertain mw even without any doctor's appointment? I'm asking this because I've read that vaccinations are needed for AOS processing. Is this correct?

I highly appreciate your feedback/s if there's such rule like that.

    Thanking you in advance.

Hi! This is also my dilemma right now. Going home to PI and then travel from PI to US once visa is approved. Knowing PI airport regulations/staffs being so strict, im afraid there will be problem going out of PI. As to the vaccinations, my family can't find any of my vaccination history so im planning to have a blood titer test here before the approval or the medical just to check all the immunizations i received. In that case, i can present a history or proof to the medical examiner that i received or that i am immune to the vaccines required.

    Goodluck to you! :)

  7. hello & welcome.

he said he wrote them a letter with our info then my current address, a proof of my flight coming home, page of my passport with entry in Phil and my contact number. so far it went ok, although it took them 3 weeks to send us a confirmation that they received & updated it, im not sure if that caused the delay. we are now past our 5 month mark like most july filers thats why im getting so pissed & frustrated. but then again if you really intend to come home its better to change it now. a friend of mine did it too and they got their NOA2 after hitting the 5month mark.

oh sorry to hear that. anyway, this waiting and sacrificing will be worth it after. just be happy and pray. nothing is impossible with God. :)

again, thank you so much for the information, ill let my fiance know about this one so we can decide eventually. thank you so much for the help! I pray that you case will be processed the soonest time.

    goodluck!

  8. hello, i am in the same situation. I used to be working in Bahrain and i was still there when we got our NOA1 copy. I came home in August coz i didnt wanna renew contract from work so when i came home my fiance had to send a letter to USCIS for my change of address and consulate to manila instead of Bahrain. I think its in the website on how to or otherwise you guys can always call them to make sure. I will have to ask my fiance on how he did it, but his letter should state proof that you travelled home, then new address your using & contact number. Good Luck

Thank you so much for the information Ery!

Things are getting complicated here that's why i want to go home, but i just dont want any conflict either with the process nor delay it. DId you inform them immediately when you got to Philippines? PLease Please let me know how your fiance did it and what stage are you now? did everything went well? i hope it did.. good luck also!

    speak soon.. :)

  9. Hi Everyone!

I am new here in VJ and i find this site really helpful for people like us who are in the process of dealing with USCIS. I am the beneficiary and currently working here in Abu Dhabi UAE. Due to some circumstances, i need to go back to my home country which is the Philippines maybe in a month from now. My Fiance just received the email from USCIS and i guess its the NOA 1 and as per the email the packet was sent to VSC already and we are now waiting for the hard copy. in the I129-f form we indicated that the visa will be processed to ABU DHABI US EMBASSY and now, we will need to transfer it to MANILA US EMBASSY. My questions are these:

    1. How are we going to inform USCIS about this change at this stage of our application (NOA 1 received)? do we need to inform them now or wait till it arrives in NVC?

    2. WIll this hurt or delay the process? affect the visa approval since we all know that middle east is a strict country?

Hope to hear from you guys and it will really be a great help for us!

    Thanks a lot in advance!
