  2. Sarah,

Go ahead and call your congressman. Get the process started. They have a form you will have to fill out and return to them, before they can do anything. My opinion is you don't have to wait. The congressional staffer can sit on it a day or two if s/he wants, but you're so close so go ahead. It will relieve some of your tension to have that process started.

    Good luck!

  3. Saloo,

Call the NVC every day. THey will tell you story of 2nd week of month scheduling is done. But they actually schedule throughout the month and can give you a date at anytime.

And don't worry it shouldnt take too long for them to schedule. It's a painful wait, but it will be short!

    Hello,

My case was complete on April 01, 2011 under IR1 category. Does anybody have any idea, how long befor NVC schedules an interview at Islamabad Embassy. Thank you for your feedback.

    Saloo

  4. The quicker the better. You never know it may take time to get appointment with the doctor etc. Also, i think the process is about 1 week. You go the first day for tests, then the doc calls you back after a week and gives you the packet.

All you need to schedule the medical is the email appointment letter from NVC. It has directions on what to take to the medical appointment (e.g. passport pics, copy of letter, immunization history if you have it.)

    Good luck!

    Hello everyone,

Just wanted to ask when my wife should schedule her medical. Her interview date is May 19th in Islamabad Pakistan. Also, will the interview appointment letter be enough for her to schedule her interview or does she need anything else?

    Thanks!

Congrats DFW-LHE! Yes very sad news on Pakistan losing :(

After having a very bad day due to Pakistan losing to India in the semi-final of the cricket World Cup I get the only news that could cheer me up.

I got my NOA2 today, received text message about 20 minutes ago.

On to NVC and good luck to everyone else. Your time is coming as well.

  7. Greetings all and I hope everyone's cases move quickly as possible through this painful process.

I was bored today so I went on to the NVC payment portal and tried to login. My case is already closed (per NVC operator and the AVR) so I was assuming i'd still have a SIF (Sign in failure) to my surprise i was able to login. I immediately called the AVR and was still getting case closed status. I thought about talking to the operator, but I'm getting sick of the 2nd week of the month script these guys go through. I think i can recite it word for word now :)

Any thoughts? Should I be worried? Could this mean they are actually starting to process stuff and get me an interview date?

  8. My wife went to the police station, they needed some passport pics, passport copy, National ID Card (NICOP) copy. Have them try the central one in Karachi or one near his house. I believe they give it in Urdu, so he will need to get it translated and attested. It only took them 1-2 days to get it.(total) They will ask what its for, and tell your husband to just push them...they don't need any visa letter. It's pretty common item and shouldnt be an issue.

My wife's certificate says Office of the Senior Superintendent of Police Jamshed Quarters, Capital City Police Karachi.

It may not hurt to have him carry a copy of his birth certificate when he goes as well.

Hope that helps. Don't stress too much about the Police Certificate , it can be done quickly, and is common. Good luck!

Does anyone know how and where to get the police records needed for visas in Karachi, Pakistan.

  9. Interview will be held in Islamabad.

Karachi is only doing business visas and visit visas right now. You can check the web page by going to

hello, i got engaged recently. my fiance is a US citizen and i am from Karachi , Pakistan. Just wanted to know that if i apply for k-1 visa... will my interview be held in my town , Karachi or will it be in Islamabad?

  10. I haven't gotten my CC email as well. Also, have been calling the NVC each day and they keep saying, "they are actually still scheduling and tomorrow will be the last day they schedule. Try calling back at end of week."

Good luck! Let's hope they schedule quickly, the wait for this is worse than waiting for the USCIS!

I don't know about the Philippines, but I know for Canada that they schedule interviews all month long, not just the second week, even though the operators tell me that they only schedule the 2nd week of each month. And don't listen to just the word of one operator. Call up multiple operators and if they ALL say there are no more April interviews, only then believe them.

For the case complete email, I believe only those doing EP will get them as I received mine from NVCElectronic@state.gov which is the email address for those doing EP.

And yes, I'd suggest to keep calling NVC every single day until you get an interview date. Also consider calling up DOS every day as well.

  11. We only have noa1 right now but are anxiously awaiting noa2 hopefully within the month so we are preparing all our other documents for the next step. In that step we noticed that we have a list to send with the ds 230 and i 864..tends to be confusing because on one section it says one thing and another section it says to send extra items...so we preparing the extra items nonetheless...

In the items it says to send i 864 with all supporting documents, 3 yrs tax returns or transcripts...I will be sending transcrips for 2 and the last one is the actual return with w2's, income verification for job with job letter, child support notarized info as well as divorce agreement stating the amount of child support and children's ages etc...and asset info..with a notarized copy that the assets are there and there is income quartely from dividends as well as what the amount would be if I had to cash it out.

we are also preparing the following:

certified divorce decree, certified marriage certificate in urdu and english, certified birth certificate for beneficiary, certified police certificate, certified NIC document, as well as passport copy and NIC copy for beneficiary.

The problem is everything we read we can't get police certificate without the embassy letter. Has anyone else had this issue and is it ok if we don't send this with the i 864 packet...

    And are we missing anything?

    Thanks for any help!

My wife was able to get a Police Certificate without an embassy letter from the Police Station in Karachi in about 1-2 days. It shouldn't be an issue.

  12. Thank you very much YuAndDan! My stupid lawyer was the one telling me to get the Dubai PCC. And she didnt tell me until last week, after we were speeding along at the NVC. You are a big life saver and this may save a good 2weeks in my processing time. Thanks once again!

    Study the reciprocity tables:

Forget about them, NVC and consulate knows you cannot get them unless you are living in the UAE. Knowing this in advance before leaving the UAE some apply for the cert prior to leaving the UAE.
