  1. Hi Ahsley! Thanls so much. Yeah, things went very quickly after the USCIS debacle. I actually just got back from Nicaragua on Friday after spending SPring Break down there. Now I'm just waiting for Ana and Brayan to come up on APril 12!!! I'm so excited. So you're getting ready to go down to see your hubby soon too, huh?

  2. The heat in Managua is unbearable in March and I sure would like to see where our Cafe Presto comes from. Ana and I have a similar plan. We would like to live here in the US for about 10 yrs to put some money togehter. Then, we would like to find a place in Nicaragua and set up a little business to live happily ever after. I like Masaya as a place, but definitely not Managua!

  3. I usually fly out of BWI or Dulles in the DC-Balt metro area, or I fly out of my hometown, Philadelphia. The most I've ever paid for a roundtrip ticket is $378, but tickets seem quite expensive this year; however, Spirit Air has roundtrip for $338 in March (Spring Break). Maybe I'll get to check out Matagalpa and it's coffee plantations when I go down this time.

  4. Thanks for the well wishes. I really hope that you and your husband don't have to go through what we've been through with this whole visa ordeal. It's been an absolute nightmare. Not to scare you or anything, but it's been just horrible.

  5. Our case was transferred from CSC to Texas, along with 360,000 other cases from July 2010 filers, because CSC got overloaded. So now we've been waiting on the Texas Service Center for 6 months and still no approval. It's pretty ridiculous; even more so when I see that people that filed in September and October are already getting their approvals.

  6. Yeah I do get to go a lot. I teach at a university in Maryland so I always go down during winter break, spring break and summer break. I usually find round-trip tickets for under $400. My wife, Ana Celina is from Managua, but we always like to get out and explore other parts of Nicaragua whenever we can. How is Matagalpa? I hear it's not nearly as hot as Managua.

  7. I've been seeing on the forum for people that are in the same boat as me (CSC transferred to TSC (Texas Service Center)) haven't been having any luck with their elected officials, but I'm still gonna write them anyway because people need to know how ridiculous this is.

  8. I'll be going for a week in March to see my wife too. I usually go for a week in March, 3 months in the summer and about 6 weeks in the winter. How about you? ANd what part of Nicaragua is your husband from?

  9. Hello Ashley. I haven't contacted anyone yet. I just got back from Nicaragua yesterday. I was going to contact my congressman and Senator in Maryland. What do you suggest I do? I've been trying to get my wife up here for over a year and it's been nothing but frustration...
