  1. I have an f2a for my wife, may 26, 2010 is pd. We were affected by retrogression, and now our visa is current in October.

We have submitted NBI Clearance and police clearance plus CENOMAR, which are documents that have expiration.

Question, do we have to submit another set to NVC OR on the INTERVIEW LETTER, they will state that they need this on the interview and no need to send them?

    Thanks...

  2. My PD is may 26,2010 for f2a, it barely made the cut so I was just wondering when I should expect any news on interview or when interview should be set.

I ask this because I see people even when PD is current, they still have not gotten interviews. Maybe an insight on Manila Embassy or any embassy on whether they give the interview the SAME MONTH your VB becomes current. Like if October is the month my VB is current, should I expect an October interview?

    THANKS IN ADVANCE

  3. My wife and daughter is being petitioned under F2A. Wife is pregnant with 2nd child and their PD is May 26, 2010. I am eligible to file for Citizenship in September 2012. Wife's due date to give birth is Jan 28, 2013. Philippine Airlines will accept her if she would leave up to 3rd week of December max.

With a PD of May 26, 2010 an estimate is September to November when the PD will become current.

With vaccines I think she is complete but the influenza one I believe is yearly, in case there are vaccines like this that cant be taken, and she needs to, will the doctor not endorse her or will the doctor just stamp it with waived or something. We dont have issues with Xray though since there is a cover.

Should I just continue petitioning them under F2A come September? So that if she gives birth there NEW BABY will just be added and not left out like when I upgrade to IR1?

What will you do with these dates close together?

  4. It's a big economic decision. Some ladies have had to stay in the PI to have the baby, and then do more paperwork to bring it home to US.

$10K in the US to have the baby private pay, vs $1800 in the PI to have it. The savings would be a big down payment for a college fund for the little crumb cruncher.

    Good luck!

    :star:

Actually this is what I am contemplating right now but it has been a long wait to further wait some more. Right now visa seems to be available in plus minus September, her due is Feb. I mean, its either September or Feb plus months of waiting for birth certificate, moving of interview, etc. And if she gets approved and waits for the baby "6 months" validity would pass.

  5. Here is a couple of ways to add a dependent to insurance without waiting for open enrollment.

    1. Marriage (Need to do with in 30 days)

    2. Change in Insurance Status. Ie. If she loses her current insurance, she is eligible. Basically,

if she loses her current insurance in the Philippines because of immigration, you should be able

to add her on your current insurance.

    regards,

    dc

We are already married since 2008, so #1 can't happen I think. Since she will be just new here I think pre existing conditions exist.

  6. Emergency medicaid typically includes pregnancy. Medicaid is a state-run program, but I know in my state the only people who are eligible for it anymore (due to budget cuts) are people under 18 and pregnant people (both regardless of citizenship status). Pregnancy coverage on Medicaid in my state lasts from proof of pregnancy (a doctor signing a form) until 6 weeks after the birth. The child is automatically covered.

That said, if you have insurance through an employer, she should be able to get covered right away since you won't have to worry about pregnancy being a "pre-existing condition". That would be the best way to go if it is an option.

Thanks for the time to reply. Although I do have insurance, its individual via Anthem. I would have to ask whether they allow adding of spouse and since my insurance is not group, if they still would check pre existing conditions. If she gets here during her trimester, the case would be that she already had her prenatal visits in the Philippines and just needs a couple more prenatal here in the US before delivery.

  7. 1. You can add your wife to your insurance using you marriage Certificate together with her SSN. But i understand that most insurance have thier schedule when you can enroll family member so better check.

    2. NSO Certificate, you can have it less than a month after filling at the local civil registrar. Mine, I got married Oct 29, filed Nov 12 and had my NSO Marriage Certificate Nov. 24.

    Thanks for the response!

My insurance is individual, I just pay for it myself, I'll check on this but based on what I read only group insurance does not have the pregnancy clause. So even if I add her, the pregnancy will not be covered until after she gives birth?

For the NSO, did you get married in Manila, plus submitted the Cert in Manila? Because I heard that in the province it takes up to 6 months? So better she submits the documents directly in Manila?

  8. Wow, I dont know where to start but I really appreciate if you can share some thoughts on this.

Situation: I have a pending F2A for my wife and daughter with a priority date of MAY 2010. 1 month movement per month would make their visa's available in September. Now, I just came home from a month vacation in the Philippines, and right inside the plane when I landed in LAX, I recieved an email of a pregnancy test with two lines in it. I am very excited but of course I also got nervous about other issues that would directly be involved with this. Due will be around February 2013.

Issue 1: If she arrives in the U.S before she gives birth I dont think any health insurance would accept her with her being pregnant. I am not sure with medi-cal but I read that immigrants with less than 5 yrs of being a resident is not eligible for this except for emergency medicaid in which I assume would be if she is already in labor and I called 911. Her first pregnancy was via CS method and that makes this even more complicated with cost and stuff. I have an individual health insurance and I am not sure that I can just add her.

Issue 2: If she gives birth in the Philippines after the interview, I think there is a 6 month time frame where you have to leave or else the visa will be revoked? Issues here would be that I think getting the new born's birth certificate to be NSO certified takes 6 months? Plus the fact that you need to add the baby also to the petition after you get the NSO copy takes time.

Please let me know of anything., any information.

    Thanks in advance

  9. yes it has been quicker than the 5-6 months average maybe 4-5 months.

She would be eligible as if you had your citizenship prior. She would be required to meet the 3 year rule (marriage/green card). the only time that counts towards the "residency" is when she becomes a resident - it is the US and laws are stricter. someone will let me know if i'm wrong.

    1. hopefully its quicker so that people with f2a petition gets upgraded and shorten the line... but i am already not hoping to get my family via f2a good thing i filed separately my daughter and wife.

    2. i see, so for example if an f2a wife gets approval and gets her GC, and husband only naturalized for example 2.5 yrs AFTER wife gets GC then wife would only need .5 yrs to be eligible for naturalization even if husband is just newly naturalized? thats good to know thanks

  10. Hi I just want to ask the following for NATURALIZATION:

    1. Does the 5-6 month process still apply or is it quicker lately?

    2. I am a GC holder, petitition my wife and daughter f2a....Just want to clarify the term, MARRIED TO A CITIZEN to be able to apply in 3 yrs. What if when we got married I was a green card holder then NATURALIZED? Will the 3 yr rule automatically take effect for her? What if my wife was already here and only then I naturalized does the time she was here still count to the 3 yr or only the ones after I naturalized?

  11. Hi I would like to ask if it is normal to see a months VB to be updated immediately as "Coming Soon"? Feb came up but March 2011 is already for "Coming Soon?" Is this a bad thing that they already know that its not going to move? I really feel that we got fooled by these people into paying fees. They keep on pushing for illegal immigration reform while forgetting the people lined up.

  12. Hi I am one of those who thought we could bring our families early next year but then Visa Retrogression happened.

My main question or topic I wanted to be clarified at is the relationship of fiscal year starting October to the recent Retrogression.

If my previous researches were true, then is it safe to imply that just after 2 months after the start of a NEW fiscal year last October, visas are no longer available? Does this mean that we have to wait for October for a new batch of visas?
