Well that's a relief!
-
I am positive I filed the AR-11 online, within a week of moving (we moved in Sept. 1st 2012). However, I got the USCIS "notice of requirement to file joint petition to remove the conditional basis...etc" forwarded by the post office to my new place with my old address on it, so USCIS clearly has my old address on file.
I looked through my emails and I have no record/receipt of the address change (if they even send one is another question!)
Do I go ahead and mail in my I-751, or do I re-submit the AR-11 first or phone them(if so, whom do I phone?) or what?!
I'm panicking a little as apparently it's a crime not to notify a change of address.

My birth certificate has a different name to my maiden name, as it was changed by deed poll when I was 16. Although that shouldn't be an issue since I have the paperwork to prove it I guess.
Thank you so much for the detailed response, I feel a lot less anxious about the whole thing now.
-
I hold a conditional 2 year green card. I came over on a k1 visa, and I will be applying for my 10year gc in a couple of months.
When I applied for my two year green card, i was told that i could not have "myfirstname mymaidenname husbandssurname", it had to be "myfirstname mymiddlename husbandssurname" if i wanted to take his name. The lady conducting the interview crossed out the name i entered and change it to "myfirstname mymiddlename husbandssurname",
When my 2 year GC arrived it showed "myfirstname mymaidenname husbandssurname". I was like, oh cool I can have that name after all. The only problem is, I still haven't been down to social security to change the name on my ssn card. I know, I'm terrible and I don't know why I waited so long. Is this going to be a big problem? I'm not sure what my name should be or what the rules are regarding this.
Basically the only 2 forms of id I have where my name is the same are my gc and drivers license. I like this name, I'm happy with it, i just want to know if it's okay to keep it.
note to mods: I wasn't entirely sure where to post this so please move it if you think it would fit better elsewhere! thanks

I started applying for jobs the day I got my EAD, a week later I'd had an interview and was hired at Petsmart. I'm a cashier.
-
Update: Received my card in the mail YESTERDAY.
-
Okay so we went back to the same office. Same woman at the window. She insisted it would take months again and the information wouldn't match up, but I explained I'm entitled to a SSN regardless of me being married or not and she began processing it.
Then she said I would receive my card in 4 weeks time. I just didn't say anything. Bitches be crazy.
-
Thank you very much for all your helpful responses.
The office I went to was in Silverdale, WA.
-
I did bring that with me! That's why I can't understand it.

I entered the country on a K1 visa on April 23rd. We got married on May 2nd. Yesterday, I went to get a SSN card and was told I couldn't have one until I adjusted my status with immigration, because I'd gotten married. The lady was rather rude who served me, she wasn't letting us ask questions. The only answer I got was that my "information wouldn't match up" if she inputted the data. She said I could have gotten one before I'd gotten married, but I got married BEFORE I would have been able to apply for a SSN.
I phoned Social Security on their 1-800 number when I got home. I was put on hold 4-5 times then told they had no idea and gave me the number for Homeland Security. So I phoned Homeland Security, explained what happened and the guy on there said that as long as my I-94 is valid, I should be able to get a SSN (although not authorized for work, which I knew already) regardless on whether I'm married or not.
Has anybody else come across this problem? Do I go back and re-apply? because they still had no idea when I phoned them, I don't know how to prove I'm entitled to a number.
-
I used this to find the best rate and carried mine over in cash. I used Thomas Cook and ordered online, I saved 90 quid by reserving the currency online and picking it up at the airport. My fiance deposited it into his account when I got there, then we'll have my name put on the account as soon as I get my SSN. It was soooo easy.

Look at your sheet. In results there are several choices. There is a box for "incomplete" which is probably ticked. Below that is another box saying something about the applicant may be eligible for a blanket waiver which also should be ticked. I don't know if the forms are still identical, but somewhere in results is a place to the doctor to indicate you may be eligible for a blanket waiver.
I've written about this so much that I'm just going to put some links to a couple of previous posts where I explained blanket waiver if you'll please look over those. I don't have time to answer because I need to call the cable company and argue with them right now.

Cheers!
Thankyou soooo, so much, I think you just saved me a fair bit of money. There's no need to type it all out, all the info was in those posts
Super-duper helpful.

Perfect. Nick did the same. He didn't want to spend £25. Then his GP said DTP was in short supply at the time and reserved for babies. A couple of days later, the nurse called and said we have DTP with your name on it. When do you want to come in? Yay! So it all worked out. The immunization nurse at Knightsbridge was super helpful to him. She mailed a copy of his DS-3025 form to him after it was signed off. When you get to AOS, you're going to read a lot of people saying (and VJ guidelines) to pay a civil surgeon to copy your DS-3025 shots to an I-693. I can tell you about 100 people who didn't because they got it complete at their visa medical. A photocopy of your DS-3025 with Tdap/Td/DTP etc, MMR, and VH (by varicella)on it; the "results" marked incomplete-may be eligible for blanket waiver; and the doctor's signature will be considered acceptable.
What do you mean by blanket waiver?
My immunisations are up to date, but at the medical it was marked incomplete. The nurse said that it's because some of my immunisations were only good for 10 years and they will run out in a couple. So do I need to get mine transcribed or what?! I'm so confused by this.

kayak.co.uk is the site I use to search for my tickets. Plus they don't charge you or make you sign up, they just direct you to the airline selling the ticket. Saves you checking every airline.

The embassy won't schedule an interview until they receive the medical results. It takes 5 working days for them to get to the embassy. I waited maybe a little more than 2 weeks for my interview letter, saying my interview was 3days later.
Also get the megabus/megatrain if you can. I used it for all of my trips to london, it's well cheap.
-
Yey! Mines the day before!
-
Thankyou Gregandmichelle, I emailed that address but I didn't need to!
They eventually did reply from the londoniv@state.gov address on Thursday morning, and rescheduled my interview for March 28th. So relieved.
So for anybody else worrying, they do take some time to reply!
-
I received a letter on Monday 7th March (yes this Monday!) telling me my interview is THIS Friday (11th March) at 9am. There is no way I'm able to be there at such short notice.
On the Monday, as soon as I read the letter, I phoned the embassy to tell them about the issue and they told me there's nothing they can do over the phone and I have to email londoniv@state.gov and gave me a code to put in the subject title of the email. They told me to include my case number and name so I did that. I haven't had a response from them yet. Is this normal? If they don't reply by Thursday what on earth do I do?! Am I even emailing the correct address? I'm really quite annoyed that they schedule things at such short notice for people, then expect them to ring an expensive phone line to acquire an email address they don't get a quick response from.

Had my medical exam yesterday!
Bentinck Mansions was easy to find, I arrived 15mins early but I wasnt kept waiting. I saw a receptionist immedietely and handed over the questionaire I'd printed off as well as my passport, passport photo (uk sized, is indeed acceptable), vaccination records and letter from my GP. I brought my deed poll and birth certificate just in case but they weren't needed). I filled in another short questionaire and 5mins later a female Dr/Nurse came to collect me. She went over my vaccination record (pro-tip remember to collect your vaccination results from the hospital, as well as from your doctor, if you had immunisations/boosters at school! They aren't always on one record!) and went over the letter from my GP about the medication I take. She told me my immunisations were up to date apart from MMR so she gave me the booster jab (£35). She told me I was welcome to have it done with my GP and they'd hold my file until they have confirmation but I said I'd rather have it done then and there to save time. She was very informative, friendly and happy to answer my questions.
I then went to the room next door for my chest X-Ray. I was told to remove necklace and bra and put on the robe provided. The X-Ray man was rather talkative and upbeat, he inquired into my surnames history and told me I descended from the vikings. He then showed me to a small waiting room where myself and a few others were waiting in our gowns.
After about 10-15mins I was collected by a female doctor and shown to her office. She also went over the vaccination records and letter from my GP and inquired into the medication I take and what dose it was. I was then required to do a short eye test. (pro-tip: If you wear glasses bring them with you! I forgot mine and she was amused that I managed to find my way there with such poor eyesight!). She said everything was fine, that she's note down I wear glasses but hadn't brought them, and she then sat me on the trolley for the examination. She checked my eyes and mouth, listened to my chest (front and back), examined my chest and abdomen and had a quick peek to see if I was indeed female (charming!). She then took my blood, just 1 vial, very quick and painless. She then told me that was the exam over and I could get dressed.
Tehy told me the results would be at the embassy by Thursday and that if there were any problems found with my exam results then I would be notified BEFORE then. I paid my fee (£235) collected my copy of the vaccination record certificate and passport and left.
I hope this is helful to anybody who's nervous, it was a complete breeze.

On the receipt of my notice of approval it says it's valid from 12/2/2010 to 04/1/2011
My medical is on the 21st of February. Will my interview for my K1 at the embassy need to be before the expiry date of the I-129f?
Have I left myself enough time? Since the embassy don't schedule interviews until they recieve medical results, I've no idea how fast they work. I have already sent my notice of applicant readiness telling them my medical exam date.
