  1. Hi guys,

So I am beginning to freak out about husband's roc. His gc expires on 8/6/14 so I need to send the packet this week ASAP.

We have been waiting till the end because of an impending move but I am afraid of waiting even longer so we will just need to submit the address change a week or so after filing.

Now, as I started to collect evidence, I am freaking out that we do not have enough. The last two years have gone by so fast and with the birth of a baby, school and careers, I am afraid we didn't collect evidence for the sake of having it. Can you please let me know if you think we have enough or any suggestions you may have.

    -Cover letter

-Affidavit of support from parents - notarized statement that we (and later our child as well) have resided with them in their apartment since hubby's arrival to the US. Says in letter that we have been contributing to their maintanence and utilities.

-Copy of GC front and back

    - Copy of driver license and my ID showing same residence

    - Birth Certificate of our child (born 2013)

    - Tax transcripts- married filing jointly- 2013, 2012, 2011. Copy of return and w2s from 2013.

    - Joint savings account statements throughout 2-3 years

    - Joint checking account letter from bank (just opened july 2014 bc each time we tried opening one before there was an issue- status, name errors or ss issues constantly until we gave up and forgot about it).

    - Health/dental insurance- I have been under my husbands since 2013- statements of open enrollment

    - Health bills- same address, same insurance for all three of us

    - letters from Hospital regarding insurance for labor and delivery

    - Dental bills- showing same address, same dates of service (we go to all appointments together)

    - Beneficiary information for 403b plan

    - copy of credit cards with my husband and my names

    - Pictures throughout the last 3 years - trips together and with family, throughout pregnancy, hospital photos and with the baby

    - Affidavits from 1 friend and from my family - not notarized

    - Wedding invitations, cards addressed to us both

The car only lists my mom and husband since I dont drive. Cell phone bill doesnt allow adding a second name on account. Honestly, I can't think of much else at this point. I am now collecting checking acount statements and will have a signed lease after we move and utility bills so I will be all ready in case we get an RFE. At this point, we just want to send out the packet to avoid being late.

    Thanks!

  2. Good luck!

Thanks!! One more question. Do you think I should mention in our cover letter or affidavits that we are moving soon or to expect a change of address? I was going to submit the lease as proof but since it's only signed by us and not management, I don't want it to seem confusing or a reason for RFE. Should I just submit roc doc's as they are with affidavit from parents and then send in the address change form a week or two after submitting petition?

  3. Hello all,

So 7 months into our AOS process, I get an update, which turns out to be an RFE. The content of the RFE is Form G-325a: Submit a fully completed and signed Form G-325A, Biographic Information. The form you submitted was the Form G325, not the Form G325A that is required.

So turns out I made a careless mistake and printed out the wrong form, even though on my checklist I had G-325A. Silly me :bonk:

This being our first RFE, I wanted to make sure that I do not make any mistakes, so here are a few questions:

    1. In filling out the new G-325A form, I will be copying from our G-325 form, but should I include my husbands new work information in the U.S.? He has been working part-time since last month

    2. How should a cover letter look like or is the blue notice of action enough?

    3. Should I send 2 passport photos for the G-325A just in case (they were not requested)?

    3. Anything else I am missing?

    Thank you in advance!

  4. My fiance and I first met when we were kids (we went to school together back home) but in the course of our 3.5 year relationship, I have visited him 7 times, with trips ranging from 2 to 5 weeks (mostly 4 weeks each trip). While I agree that one trip may be enough for some couples to truly get to know each other, for us, every trip proved to be a new adventure as there is never enough you can learn about the other person. The first few trips we were so caught up in love and the wonderfulness of our relationships that I feel that the later trips were what we needed to truly understand each other- what ticks us off & the differences in mentalities we may have. Oh and we were approved :) Still waiting for visa though.

  5. Our visa was approved today!!!!!!!!!!!! My review of the embassy is up! It will take some time to receive the visa though, the officer said about a month, maybe less. I cannot wait for baby to hold his visa in his hands and cross POE!!!!

One question to anyone who has heard of this: The first thing my fiance was told at his interview was that once in the U.S. he needs to show up at the army recruitment center for the reserves within 30 days of arrival. He was sworn in and had to sign documents detailing this. He is 23 y.o. with 4 years of military experience in the I.D.F. and I understand that all males 18-25 need to register if there is a draft. He was told that he will receive directions of how to do this with his AOS package which is confusing since it will be over 30 days. They warned him that there is a 250k fine and 5 years jail time for failure to register with the reserves (they kinda scared him).

Has anyone ever had experience with this? Where exactly would he need to go?

  6. He will hand that sealed envelope in to CO at entry to USA. That then gets sent on to USCIS and then when you apply for AOS they already have it but the DS3025 he needs to get a copy of from the doc that did his medical and have that when he gets here in case it gets lost at USCIS level here.

Thank you for your response. At his medical interview, he was told that he does not receive copies of any documents, rather they are all in the envelope. The dr said he has all the forms ready for him already (we dont even know what forms he filled out or what he wrote). The doctor was a little to laid back- even for vaccinations he did not have a record, all he asked my fiance was if he was in the army. To which my fiance said yes and the dr responded "you're good then". I hope this doesn't bite us in the butt. My fiance is however getting some of the shots he is missing (Hep. A & B) at his local dr office currently.

  7. Hey guys, my fiance will have his interview at the Jerusalem embassy in 12 hours! He is now worried about not having any medical records for AOS. His medical file from the medical interview is all in a sealed envelope and he is not sure if he is supposed to have any copies and get any forms back to save for AOS. We don't even know which forms are in the envelope but I'm guessing it is the DS 3025... so how does he get access to this form or does the envelope remain sealed for officers eyes only?

Also, we have tax transcripts from the IRS from the last 3 years for both the sponsor and co-sponsors. The embassy in their instructions often mentions 1040 and W2. We have 1040 and W2 for just the last 2 years. I told him to first hand in all the tax transcripts and to have the 1040 and W2 for emergency but should we be ok with just the transcripts?

Thank you all & Good luck to everyone! I have already begun my sleepless nights :/

  8. Ours is August 3rd!!!! So Nervous but excited!!!!!! It's funny that now that I have our interview date, I see August 3rd everywhere and it seems that 3 is our lucky number (NOA2 on 5/3, 3 months btwn NOA2 & interview and Aug 3!!!)...yeh I'm going crazy here looking for good signs!! Good luck everyone!!

  9. I can't believe I haven't seen your post earlier. Again, I am so sorry that it took so long to hear some answers. I'm glad you called DOS though. I call them everyday, now that I see that me contacting the embassy is no use as they stopped replying to my emails and fiance can't reach them by phone. It would make sense that everyone would go through some form of AP, with some processes taking longer than others. I would continue calling DOS... most of the agents there are very informative and nice and they even told me themselves "your free to call us every day". I did find that some agents gave me different information though (ex. this girl I spoke to yesterday was rude and was completely bs'ing). I cannot believe that this consulate has a right to tell us to lay off basically. When they are constantly misleading us (they told me that as soon as they receive ds-230 they will schedule the interview- 3 weeks ago) and then they just stop answering my emails! I gave up on believing that my fiance will be here by August, before I return to school and everything gets crazy again. I now fear how he will adjust on his own basically when he comes since I wont be able to guide him through everything.

I do have a gut feeling that your fiance will be here in time for the wedding date, after all it is the festival of love.

    Best of luck!

  10. Hello there, unfortunately the Jerusalem embassy is extremely slow... you need to keep emailing them in order for them to process your paperwork and etc. It took us at least 5 emails for them to just email our Packet 3 after a month! They then ended up sending 2 packets instead! It's very frustrating dealing with them... we also have sent in our packet 3 and they still say they have not received the original ds-230. :( I will start calling DOS to see if they received it! Good Luck!!
