  1. September Bangkok schedules are up.

Wouldn't you know, our case made the list!!

Funny thing is we never received packet four. However we did receive confirmation via email. This was only due to us being a bit proactive and requesting some information around a week after sending in packet three.

It looks like 6 other cases on our day. Best of luck to all of you!!

    good luck.

make sure you practice again and again.

make sure to ask the questions in many deferent ways.

triple check the documents and translations for spelling errors

clam your fiancee down, this is very stressfull for her.

and prepare her that she might be faving a nasty c.o

    good luck

  2. I get the impression that tiny differences can create problems so I thought I'd ask this simple question:

The K1, Part B (Information about Alien Fiance) Line 10, Name of Prior Spouse and Date marriage ended.

There was no recording of the marriage, there was no "Monk wedding," simply two people who moved in together, had a child, and then, as is common in Thailand the male moved on to another woman who he now lives with and who has had a child.

In Thailand, if I understand the law, since the marriage was not recorded, well, then there is no "spouse."

On the other hand, to not put down the name of the child's father might be construed as misleading.

Also, there is no real "date marriage ended" as there is with my prior marriage which has a date of divorce decree. In her case, he simply left and over time it became apparent to her that their relationship ended.

For those in the know about Thailand, would you please suggest how to best fill this out, to minimize any future problem. Fill in the father's name? Put a month/year or year, since there was no specific date that the prior marriage ended.

    Thanks

    My cas is similar.

I sent out a letter (with all other documents) that I know about her doughter and thatcurrently she will stay with her grandmother in Thailand.

The reason for the letter is that no one thinks she is hiding something from me (I also added pictures of all of us together).

  3. Do they have to be on photo paper. or can we just print them directly onto paper with the details on the side?

after all this is the digital age right?

I printed over 150 pictures (cvs had a sale for 5C ea so it was cheap)

I also wrote down behind the pictures when and where it was taken.

In January I went to visit my fiancee and made sure all the pictures we took had a date stamp on them

  4. Im actually begining to think my DV lottery winning is a scam, as after reading the state.gov website it states

"The Department of State does NOT notify successful DV applicants by email."

"Some companies posing as the U.S. government have sought money in order to "complete" DV entry forms. There is no charge to download and complete the Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form."

    :luv:

    I am a 2004 dv winner.

you need to get a letter saying you are a winner, than you need to check your DV number and if it has a chance

100,000 letters are sent but only 100,000 G.C are issued (me and my ex wife and two kids took 4 on one number so high number never gets processed)

In 2005 ,when I actually got my G.C numbers above the mid 30-40,000 had a very little chance (my number was in the 18,000 and I got my G.C only in April and the last G.C issued in September.

If you have the letter in hand and your number is low and you only starting your K1 application, only than I'd continue with the DV.

If not, continue with the K1 process.

    Good luck

  5. 6 months for me. Definitely a long wait.

Well the NOA 2 was about 5.5 months My lawyer didn't wait for packet 3, I sent all the documents (about 250 pages of skype chat logs, some emails and about 150 pictures icluding some with my mom when she came to meet her family, altogether 8 LBs of papaers) she was doing her medical and police within days and after couple of days all the documents submitted for an interview. the funny part is that packet 3 documents came by mail after the interview date was scheduled, it otook the Thai mail almost 4 weeks to deliver it (looking at the postal stamp), I think they transfered it on took took all the way from BKK

Most likely she will get her interview letter after she will be here in the states with me :D

I know many are against using lawyers but having someone to actually take her to the hospital and the police station and expedite it all from over there was very helpfull.

  6. Hi

Looking at the I 134 few questions came up especially on part 7 & 8

my income is well above the requirements but they ask about real estate and personal properties.

    1. I own my house. Do I need to provide a copy of the title / transfer deed Does a proof for value can be from county public records? do I need these notarized as true?

    2. Same as above about my car, do I need to provide a copy of the title? how do I provide a value of it?

    3. 401K, should it be as "stock and bonds" . do I need a copy of the current portfolio value?

    4. Question 8, I am paying child support for my two children who lives with their mother in another state, are they considedrs to be "dependent upon my support"?

    5. I have no saving account (I prefer putting everything in the 401K and paid for my house and car) does this going to effect anything (my income is well over 3 times the minimum required for 2)

All the rest is taken care of (letter from my employer and the tax transcripts are on the way and I have over 6 moths of original paystabs.

    Thanks all

  7. i called uscis at the beginning of march when there were killings of men women and children above and beyond the ordinary in karachi...and my husband would have to walk to work and back puttin himself in great danger because the buses would be on strike and not run...soo we did call and request expedite due to humanitarian reasons and were approved expedite...so yes absolutely if she is in danger which she is then be prepared to document it..with travel warnings or other things that the government issues (they cant say it didnt happen then ) and they will give you a reference number for your expedite while they look into it...it took us just less than a week to find out we were approved expedite....then they pulled our case file and approved by the 24 of march....good luck

    Thanks.

I will call on Monday and also contact my Congressman

This is from travel.state.gov :"We recommend that you defer travel near the Thai-Cambodian border in the area of the Preah Vihear temple because of a border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia. Soldiers from the two countries have been stationed along the border in this area since July 2008 and have exchanged gunfire on several occasions. Some artillery fire has struck several kilometers away from the border. Fighting has also extended some distance along the border from the temple complex. Until the situation has been resolved, you should exercise extreme caution if you must travel to areas along the Thai-Cambodian border where troop activities are reported. "

Her house is less than 5 miles from the temple (the temple is on the ridge overlooking her village)

  8. No. They are going to be concerned about the present income not 2009. Your income is well above many; you will have no problem.

I assume you are aware of the use of IRS transcripts as evidence.

    Thanks.

I have all my tax returns, pay checks and W2 for the last 18 month ready. I did not yet ask for a letter of employment as it needs to be "fresh"

Do I need to prepare things like my house and car title copies or they are not needed?

  9. Hi.

Pim is in the middle if the crisis area between Thailand and Cambodia .Her village is 5 miles from the temple that is a war zone, one of the pictures we submitted with the application was us together there (when it was quiet back in 2009)

In February when her village was bombarded, she and her family were refugees for almost 3 weeks and now the fighting is back on.

Needless to say the panic level (here and there) is reaching new boiling point.

Is there a way to expedite it. if the Fianc'ee is in real danger?

Who can I contact? what can I do?

The application is almost 5 months in the same "initial review" status

    I just feel so helpless....

  10. My case still shows pending on the USCIS website and my wife has been approved over 2 years. So I wouldn't put a lot of stock in that website.

I just checked my old citizenship application and according to the website I am still waiting for an interview (I had my interview and ceramony over two months ago).

The K1 application number I try to put from the NOA1 is still not in the system so the web site is way behind...
