  1. Omigod. He is delicious, Dizzylox. I'm expecting a boy in November and I hope he turns out half as gorgeous, haha. What a little love. x

Thank you and I promise you baby will be gorgeous. Somethin' 'bout those UK/US babies...they're super gorgey ;)

    Awwh so mang cute babies!

Were expecting our first in March 2015! I'm currently 12 weeks. SO EXCITED!!

Does anyone know the process of obtaining dual citizenship for the baby once it's born? I'm still just a GC holder but will be applying for naturalization and going for dual citizenship when I can. Will our baby automatically get that as I'm a UK and my husband is a US citizen??

Do I contact England (who lol) and tell them?

YAY!!!! Baby!!! They have dual citizenship automatically, but if you're like me, you'll want to apply for that passport to make it feel even more official. You can get their birth certificates and information on how to apply for their birth certificate here: https://www.gov.uk/register-a-birth

Loxley is GORGEOUS! And congrats to the new mums-to-be. :)

Thank you so much!! How's your little doing?

Definitely NOT a zombie thread ;)

Kids' beach pics are just what summer needs.

    Ha! Exactly!! ;)

  2. Any news, Dizzy?

Also, I am so bummed that Vermont is so much slower than California AGAIN. I swear, it's like we're 2+ months behind the CSC folks on ROC! Oh, well! :)

    Hope y'all are well!!

Yes! It finally cashed and we are just sitting on Initial Review...ours was forwarded to some place called the ESC. I have no idea where the heck that is!!

    Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well. I am preparing our packet, should be mailed out by the end of the week or early next week. Has anyone heard back yet that has sent theirs in? Is it just me, I thought this packet was easier to put together. Anyone thinking of naturalizing next?

    Enjoy your evening,

    Lise

I am all for naturalization!!! Just the idea of doing more paperwork makes me want to cry! lol and plus, Mr. L's bro and sis are pretty adamant on making the trip over.

Hi Guys, Jenie's approval letter arrived Friday and the green card was in the mail box yesterday, ROC done! Hope everyone is doing well..

    YAY!!!!

Hi Lise, looks like Uncle Sam needs to return your biometrics fee, yea probably not.

I will encourage Jenie to go through the the naturalization process so she can sponsor a family member to come here, it takes 10 years for that so the sooner she gets started the better..

    Same here!!

  3. Yeah, I declined the affidavit myself. I did send post-marked envelopes and cards from family and friends, though.

I'm kind of getting nervous that our check wasn't cashed yet. They received the packet on Mar 27th...no check cash yet =\

Did it take a while for you guys, too?

I'm wondering if the check was a little too hidden for them. Our packet went: Cover Letter, Blank page, Check attached to I-751 page, etc etc. And it was binder clipped at the top.

I'm hoping they didn't think it wasn't in there and it's just taking a little extra time! Something told me to put it right on top, but I didn't think it would be necessary since it was binder'd together.

    DAHH!

  4. wOOHOO! Sounds like more babies have been born to us!! I'm finally printing out the I-751 and catching up on what you guys have been chatting about. Holy cow! There's a show based on the K1 ?!? I have GOT to watch that. Is it on Netflix?

I totally think we should continue on to Facebook. I'm definitely encouraging hubby to naturalize so I don't have to deal with the paperwork anymore!

I'm pretty sure everyone can keep working. Or, at least, I'd hope so! Mr. Lox is on his way to becoming a manager at Best Buy! He first took up a job there because finding something in IT Training field was proving difficult in the area we live. He took it as an interim job, and it's turning into so much more. I'm so happy for him. Gems are sometimes found under rocks :)

    Speak soon!! xo

  5. Hello DizzyLox!

    Hellooooooooooooo gyselle!!!! <3

Hi Dizzy, thanks for creating the thread!!! We are just starting to work on our ROC good timing!!! Do you ever hear from Marie?

You are sooo welcome! I actually last spoke with Marie a year ago! She was doing just fine. I think she forwarded me her details, I'll try to find them and invite her back in to join us! We'll upgrade to a Facebook group soon!! We gotta KIT! :)

I have been thinking about the Decemberites a lot lately! smile.png I still can't believe we made a friggin' Decemberite cookbook. Talk about over-the-top.... and at the same time, completely and utterly epic. Whatever happened to Mariye??

We filed for ROC last month-- so again, not just K1 but also ROC Decemberites... three years later almost to the day!

I don't think we sent in enough evidence... we sent tax records from last year, car insurance, a lease agreement, pictures, proof of our honeymoon cruise (a year and a half after getting married, ha!), and a few other things, but didn't really show co-mingling finances. I think we might want to go and get more proof of this from the bank and send it in with the receipt copy.

No babies yet on our horizon. Y and I are both 30... but in some ways with immigration stuff, I feel like we are 10 years behind where we should be. I'm finally getting my master's degree, and the US doesn't accept Y's degree, so he's been working and going to community college and hopes to transfer to a 4-year schools soon. With two tuition bills and only working part-time, no time or money for children for us yet, though it'd be nice sometime in the next few years.

Anyway-- great to see so many familiar faces. smile.png

I totally think you sent in plenty of evidence!! That sounds perfect to me! And talk about over-the-top, we were crazy! But man, those were crazy times. lol We all needed that morale boost. I think this december 2014 will be our 4 year VJ anniversary, guys! Crazy crazy crazy! And I totally understand about tuition. My hubby has faced that same struggle and it's really difficult to adjust when you had a 14 year successful career and credentials, and they don't mean squat over here. He's actually taking the GED test right now as I type this so he can start a 2year degree program and the community college. I'm hoping he will go into business for himself. He's so bright and sweet. I think he would be really really great business owner! We just need time. It feels like it has been forever already, but really...starting all over again: credit, education, finances, etc when you're in your 30s and beyond is something that takes time, no matter how demoralizing it is. BUT you are not alone! That at least makes me feel better. We're not alone! AND I'm applying to nursing school! Just wanna do something different. We have a son, Loxley, 19 months old. It's going to be crazy! But we're going to be just fine. Life has a way of just working out, and take it from me, there is no perfect time to have kids!! lol it doesn't matter how ready you think you are...they will turn your world upside down in the best way ever.

    :)

Heeeey everyone! So glad to see everyone is doing well and still hanging in there. Ola and I sent our ROC packet on 12/19 and he has his biometrics appointment next week. Wishing everyone a quick approval so we can put away all the forms and proof asap and just enjoy life.

Heeeey GSummit!!! So good to see you again! And YES!! I am SO ready for this to be over!!! Are any of you guys going for naturalization? I'm pushing hubby to! I don't want to deal with this anymore!! That's when we'll need the FB Group so we can all KIT as we say ta-ta to this process! (at least until the in-laws want to come over) lol

As a October 2010 K1 filer, I can say that I remember your posts! It's amazing that it's already been four years! energy.gif

Aw, I remember you, too!!! Isn't it crazy? 4 years this year!!! dancin5hr.gif

  6. We filed AOS on 2011-09-27 and received Green Card on 2012-02-11. The Green Card expires 2014-02-01, so our 90-day window opened on 2013-11-03. We filed ROC on 2014-11-04 smile.png

We sent bank statements (joint checking account) for every month since September 2011, car titles with both names, home title with both names, property tax with both names for the past 2 years, IRS tax transcripts for 2011 and 2012, airline boarding passes, and our driver licenses showing same address. Sent about 6 photos since they're not important from what I read.

Pretty straight forward I guess. We'll see if the USCIS accepts what we sent smile.png

Ahhh! My math was totally wrong. I'm thinking our joint accounts, tax transcripts, birth of our little boy and driver licenses should be pretty good and a few pictures!

Woohoo! They will accept it! :)

  7. Wow, 4 years ago!!!

Thank you for remembering us! We filed ROC in November 2013 and hope to hear something soon.

Thought I'd stop by to say Hi and wish you and all 2010 Decemberite K1'ers a smooth ROC journey!

    Bobby smile.png

Holy cow! You did ROC only a year after AOS? How'd you pull that off? I thought we had to do it within 3 months of the date on the green card?

And yay! You got it done. Pretty straight forward?

  8. So...our infant son, a US and UK citizen can move over with daddy a UK citizen. But mom has to stay in the US until dad makes 18600 for 6 months or can show a contract that he will be making that. Beyond the fact that I can work in London in the UK branch of our office given the right transfer...except now I have to have the right degree to do that?
