Yes, ours was transfered to CSC and we were approved and we filed in March so I think they are moving along faster than we think!!
-
We got those exact same emails in the exact same order and I was worried too but all is well!
-
after the green card is received can the non USC get medicaid or insurance?? or does anyone know how long the co sponsers income has to be used?
-
Received our Green Card and EAD/AP Card in the Mail today!! Soo excited!! Cant believe we are finally done with Immigration for awhile!!
-
We have not heard a single thing about the AP that we filed, and the date online has not changed since the original NOA1. Is this normal?? Has anyone else had this happen?

Hello All March Filers,
Havent posted on this post before but just wanted to share our news. We finally received notice that our EAD card production was being ordered on 5-24-2011, then on 5-27-2011 we received notice that the card was being produced for the I485!! We received several of the same exact email and about 5 emails total from USCIS in one day. Then on 5-31-2011 we received notice that the EAD and I485 were approved and the approval notice had been sent. Seems a little backwards but hopefully we will be getting the cards in the mail anyday!!
Anyone else had this happen?
So excited to finally have two incomes again!!

it might be an issue although Im not completely sure. We just got our receipt numbers and we got three, one for AOS, EAD and AP. Maybe you should call and just make sure.

Hello Everyone,
I finally have the AOS packet almost complete and I am just curious if we need to provide additional proof of relationship like we did for the I-129F packet. Like pictures, emails, joint accounts, etc. I havent read anywhere that we do need this but I just want to MAKE SURE!
Or are these proofs of relationship only required for the interview?
I have everything listed in the AOS packet guidelines but no extra proof.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

does anyone know what shots are required to file for the AOS? for example is the hep A/B shots series required for a 26 year old male?
-
I would email them again, they usually got back to me within a few days to a week. We got our interview date 5 days after we hand delivered our packet. But, I have also heard of cases where they didnt hear from the embassy for a few weeks and when they finally heard their interview date was only a few days later. So, if I were you I would start getting everything ready for your interview now.

You will have to go back and have another "certificado de antecedentes penales" done, when you go mention that it has to be done with the article 51. You will have to pay again but it doesnt cost extra for the article 51 part.

We received an email in the afternoon/evening.

Thanks everyone! We do seem to be finding that right now round trips are cheaper. And that tickets are VERY EXPENSIVE. oh whats a little more money spent after going through this process! HA

Has anyone had any trouble entering the US on a K-1 visa only having a one way ticket? Trouble with the airlines or POE or anything? Thanks!

Your comment is uncalled for and insensitive. He *did* congratulate this lucky couple and then express his justified frustration honestly. And for that you publicly question his character? This type of community will best serve the members if we try to be compassionate and comfort those who are feeling frustrated, not by knocking them down at a time when we all are already vulnerable.
Thank you for saying that. I felt the same way when I read the posts. He did congratulate them, but after waiting over 5 and 6 months it is very frustrating, never knowing when something is finally going to happen. But receiving our NOA2 was the best part of the whole process so far!

At the POE.. you mostly do the same things you would do as a visitor to the US, until you get to the security checkpoint in the US. Then, you will both go together through the "foreigners" line and present the officer with your passports and the packet. Most likely you will be referred to the further processing area, so the officer will hand over your paperwork to other officers there. You will wait in a waiting room until they call you up. It may be fast or take a long time, depending if they know what they're doing, but what's a few more hours of waiting after so much! They might ask you some questions, then they will go through all the paperwork in the packet (everything you've turned in to USCIS thus far) and leave you will an I-94 in your passport. You won't get the paperwork back- it stays in your file for AOS. That's it.
So no, you don't need to do any special preparation. Just get ready to get married, file AOS, request SS#...
Thank you!
What is a I-94? and I was reading about some peoples POE experiences and somewhere I read that either you can get a stamp in your passport to work legally for 90 days or is that what the I-94 is? And another thing I read was that after stamping the passport one of the officers said "Welcome to America, you will receive your ss# in about 7 days? Is any of this true?

wow, cool! good to know. how long do you have to be a permanent resident before you can file your citizenship??
-
Can a permanent resident eventually become a citizen? and if so, after they are a citizen, then can they file a visa to bring their parent to the US permanently?
-
Is it possible to bring a parent of someone who is a permanent resident?
-
Hello Everyone!
I am wondering if someone can explain a little about the POE process. I know we turn in the sealed packet and the passport but are there any papers from the customs officers that are necessary for us to get? I am trying to avoid any delays in the future.
Also, do they keep the sealed packet?

Hello,
My fiances k-1 visa interview is in less than a week, and he is getting extremely nervous that they are not going to treat him fairly and that they could deny him for any little reason just because they are having a bad day or whatever. He is worried that they are going to treat him differently because they are from the US and he is from South America.
My opinion is completely different because we sent in a ton of proof of our relationship, we havent gotten any RFE's, I will be with him at the interview, and I assume I can sit right in during the interview which would mean they would not be able to just randomly treat him unfairly. But if anyone can give us any advice or words of encouragement or anyone who did feel that they were treated unfairly during thier interview, I would really appreciate it so I can show him and calm his nerves! THANK YOU!

I really dont think it should be a problem. I think they will see that it was a small mistake and that you arent trying to Lie to them, but I suppose there is a small chance you could be RFE'd.

We are looking into that same thing right now, because I want my fiance to be covered until he can get a job which will cover him. My mom actually found one with some great prices, its called Patriot America for non-US Citizens and she thinks the quote they gave her (she said he was rambling off numbers) was 50 dollars a month for 6 months, and then you have to renew for another 6 months. Apparently this insurance will only cover you up to one year. And it has a 1000 dollar deductable. My mom is the one who found this so I really dont know much at all about it. Sorry if the info is not correct, this is just what she told me.

ok, so they do keep the original forms with original signatures? what do you mean by civil documents?
