  1. No they do NOT have your "I-693" because you haven't DONE an I-693. The I-693 is done here in the US. Medical documents done by the panel physician are DS-3024 etc.

They DO have your panel physician medical documents. YOU should have a copy of your DS-3025 (not the original, a copy) which is your immunisations but some docs forget to give a copy. Do you know if it was complete?

    This is WRONG.

First, the I-693 is done here in the US so the OP doesn't have a completed I-693, the medical documents in the home country are different. Secondly, the doctor gives a COPY of the DS-3025, NOT the original to you. The ORIGINAL is in the medical packet which was in the brown envelope handed over at POE.

Agree call your panel physician and see about getting a copy of your entire medical, at the very least of your DS-3025 so you know whether you shots are complete or not.

    Thanks!

  2. Greetings!

I recently arrived in the U.S. on a K-1 visa, got married and am now collating my I-485 (AOS) Packet. I didn't receive a copy of my medical documents when I had my medical done in Sydney, before my interview. The sealed envelope was taken by customs at the POE. Does this mean that the USCIS has my medical documents (I-693 + DS3025) and that I do not need to enclose copies in with my I-485 application? Any help is appreciated.

  3. yeah it's a new thing we have to do now, instead of giving them a self-address express envelop. We go online ustraveldocs.com to create a profile, just a formal way to give them our address I think. SO they post it to that address.

That's weird, because I didn't create a profile prior to my interview (I think?). I remember going to that website and getting a bar-coded voucher to take to the Post Office. Also, my Pkt 4 stipulated that I provide a Platinum Express Envelope.

  4. Hi Athena13,

Congratulations! It's a good feeling when you walk out of there, isn't it? The first thing I remarked on was that there was little privacy. I had this misconceived idea that interviews were conducted in an office without an audience.

I'm packed and ready to fly out. Got all the hard work done early on, so now I can sit back and relax.

    Regards,

    Gerald

Getting your visa and entering the US is a real landmark, but there's a lot more paperwork and interviews to do after you get there!

  5. Flanders: Did you provide your own platinum express envelop? I didn't know there were other VJs who had interview on the same day (in Aus or NZ). I think if you saw the other ones got theirs in a week, they might be outside Aus and yes they are quicker than us...... Aus is somehow very slow in every step it seems.....eh....bad for us. :crying:

Danneh: yeah the new system seems like we don't need to provide them with an envelop. I wanna pick mine up in person, but I can only ask them this on the interview day, next Tue!

I put my Platinum Express Envelope inside Pkt 3. But when I was at the interview they told me it was too small and was sent to the PO in Martin Place to get a bigger on. I meant to ask them if I could pick it up in person (after what happened last time) but I forgot to ask.

You can do it ether way: put it in Pkt 3 or bring one to the interview, but the Pkt 3 checklist usually stipulates to provide a 3kg Platinum envelope in the Pkt 3 you send back.

  6. did you pay $350 or $240? There's a decrease in fees as of April 13 2012, did you see?I will pay at Aus Post too, with my mother's CC i think.

Looking at the deposit slip, why is the name "CITI NA LONDON – MRV FEE COLLECT"???

The deposit slip pdf URL http://www.ustraveldocs.com/au/Fee240.pdf

Yeah, that had me confused. Also, the printed deposit slip didn't have "K1" on it. It also states that I need to schedule my "appointment". I already have my interview appointment date. Why do I need to enter the "Unique Sequence Number" back into the website? Maybe this applies to different visa types? I don't know?

    Cheers.

  7. Link to: Canberra Embassy website

    Hi,

I found the instruction on the Canberra Embassy website for paying for the K1 Visa interview at AusPost a little confusing. I decided to pay at the post office rather than pay with my cc online. I eventually printed out a 'U.S. Visa Application Fee Deposit Slip', which I took to the P.O. The lady behind the counter recognised this form, copied the number and gave me the receipt for $350. So all is well. Has anyone else encountered difficulties with the instructions?

    Cheers.

  8. Flanders, that's cool! April 10, oh that's yesterday?????

Cain Kat: me too! I just got my pkt 4 today, interview date is also May 1.

Im writing to them to move it forward, as I already booked ticket to fly on April 30.

    Hi Athena,

We booked our flights, hotels, wedding planner (we're meeting up in Hawaii for our wedding) not expecting having to wait so long for Pkt 4! My US fiancee actually asked her member of congress to intervene, which we suspect has helped bring forward our interview. We have now cancelled all our bookings and look forward to re-booking when we have the visa in hand.

The consulate is generally helpful with changing interview dates, but I can't give you any assurances in your situation. Just be prepared to change your flight if necessary.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers.

  9. My interview is 17 April. I booked my ticket for 20 April several weeks ago, not anticipating the wait for Pkt 4 would stretch out for so long. I've cancelled that flight and wont rebook until I have my visa in hand. We've also had to cancel/postpone our wedding and hotel, etc. But now it's all happening, we're happy again!

    Cheers!

PS. This is my 2nd application for a K1 visa. To those who are waiting for their interview, relax! The interview is the easiest part of the process. Providing you have all your paperwork and there's nothing 'unusual' about your case, there wont be a problem. It's really only a 'rubber stamp' job. Enjoy the experience!

  10. Hi,

I posted my Pkt 3 on 29 March, 2012 and as of today, 8 April,2012 I have not received Pkt 4. That's five weeks. The Sydney Consulate is processing very slowly at the moment. I called the Consulate but got transferred to a call centre in India. Emails haven't helped, either. If you get your Pkt 4 within a couple of weeks, think yourself lucky, but do prepare for a long wait.

    Regards.

PS. Don't purchase airline tickets or book weddings until you have your visa in hand! Good luck!

  11. Hi everyone,

I applied for my NSW police check a couple weeks ago. I haven't received my NOA2 yet but i wanted to get everything ready in advance. I think i used the P799 form but i stated that i needed the police check for a USA visa. I also had my fingerprints taken. Does anyone know if this is going to be a problem and will i have to have another check done using the P800 form??

You definitely need the P.800 full disclosure form in NSW. You can download it from the NSW Police web site. That will save you mucking around at the station. It costs $175.

I recently applied for the Police certificate and it took over 2 weeks to receive. I also asked for it to be posted to my home address so that I could copy it and then send it to the consulate in my packet 3.

    I hope this helps you.

  12. Hi,

It's definitely the P.800 you need! I instant messaged another Australian filer who had recently had their interview and they used the P.800 and there were no problems.

Also, you can go to the NSW Police website and download the form from there if you like.

I went to Penrith Police Station, filled out the form (the lady behind the counter was unsure of which form but I put her straight). After a short wait a policeman came out and invited me around the back to the holding cells and charge counter (very interesting if you've never been there before). The fingerprints are done on a computer. You have to place each finger on the panel below the computer one at a time to be scanned. You also have to do each palm and the sides of each hand.

And that's all there is to it! Then the long wait. That's why it's good to get this out of the way beforehand. Then you only have to schedule your medical as soon as you receive your Pkt 3. My medical was completed within 7 days. (The medical's a breeze, too!)

    Hope this helps.
