Hi Vj Members,
I am a new member. I was just wondering what is my next step in the processing of getting this journey completed. I was asked to do a DNA Test and the results were negative. My parents were married when I was twelve years old. I read somewhere where it said that if the biological parent was married to the step parent before the child's 18 birthday then the person can continue the process as a step parent. If this is so, what is the procedure? Can anyone please help me. I know that this can be done but how is another question. Thanks.

That is highly unlikely because the form I-130 clearly states what is the definition of a step parent is. My father would have to be married to my mother before I turned 18 years and he has to show that he has been divorced or not from my biological mother. Age is of no factor. I contacted an Immigration Lawyer and she knows her stuff in Jamaica and Florida and she says there is nothing to worry about because all that I have stated above applies. I hate speculation. Thanks for your reply anyways.
