Hello everyone. I hope someone can help me with these confusion.
My son just got approved for an immigrant visa at the US Embassy manila last June 19,2013
In his visa page the category printed is CR2 which is the one we ticked on the i130 form when we filed because me and my husband (the petitioner) were married less than 2 years when we filed in december.
We celebrated our second year wedding anniversary last april 20, 2013 and my son will prolly poe by july this year.
My question is, are they going to upgrade him to IR2 instead or CR2 once he gets here?
Please help TIA

no worries about the NOA2 as you already gone & done your interview. worry about your case being sent back and hope it gets approve before the medical validity expires otherwise you will have to redo it again.
-
very normal. unfortunately they have been very slow this time of the year. try to call and follow up and hope it gets reviewed and approved
-
congrats! now time to get all your docs, sched your medical, pay visa fee and sched your interview...goodluck

theres no such thing as packet 3 being mailed to your fiance. all the forms she needed to fill in can be found in this website http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_1342.html. and since you already have manila case number she can go ahead and pay her visa fee, sched her interview as well as her medical check up. let her join us for more info
-
still depends on if your packet got reviewed...no specific time frame but if you get lucky 10-30days
-
if her birth cert from NSO says 19 then you should go by that becoz changing her b-date at NSO office can take alot of time delays and money too
-
yes you can bring someone with you
-
thats strange if all is ok with her papers. its better to let her fiance call USEM to follow up what happened
-
most of the time those letters doesnt even get delivered till later, i got mine when im already here in the states lol...if you already have your manila case number and know that your packet is already at USEM your fiance can go ahead with the medical, pay her visa fee and sched her interview
-
dont worry about not having your EAD yet, interview is pretty easy too as long as you have all required docs and evidence---goodluck

Thanks BrittandDan and RK_and_Inday for your responses. Both make a lot of sense. But just for my peace of mind, i was wondering, after the embassy contacts/sends the forms and checklist to the benificiary how much time does she have to complete the forms and send it back to the consulate? My worry is my fiancee is scheduled to fly back to the Philippines Dec. 30, what if the forms/checklists were sent to her home address say a few weeks earlier? Does the embassy issue a due date for returning all documents and forms? Again i apologize for being so nitpicky, i just want to do everything right the first time.. i'm sure you all can relate. Thanks again!
If by any chance your petition got approved by uscis, gets forwarded to nvc and then saudi consulate and she already have to leave back to PI, you can always request to get it forwarded to manila consulate for the rest of the process. I now this coz mine got sent to Bahrain so i had to get it forwarded to manila since i was already there by then.

goodluck with the waiting

theres really no easy way, and theres nothing anyone can say that will ease or make you feel better. everyday youll miss her more and more and it can drive you nuts. atleast theres skype and all the hitechnology now adays. keep ourselves busy, live a normal routine that you can spend time together online as you used to do and soon enough eventually you'll be together in few months. thats should be your motivation...goodluck
-
i say do it yourself, more accurate and pretty easy too. you can get alot of guides and help her and aside from saving money you will learn alot from doing it your own.
-
congrats and godluck to the next steps
-
yes no problem. later on when she goes back to PI you can always change her address online with USCIS
-
just tell her to make sure not to stay over 6months outside US

you dont have to wait for USEM to receive your packet. Since you already have your mnl case number, she can go ahead and pay her visa fee, sched her interview date and go for her medical as well as gather all her docs ready for interview.
