  1. Hi all,

I just had a look on the USCIS website and for the I-485 they are now saying there is a 4 month processing time instead of 3 months!

I had my case transferred over to CSC for 'faster processing' on Dec 23rd 2011. I have my brother's wedding to go to in March this year in england.

If i don't get my green card in time, what options do i have. The AP takes 3 months to process too so that is pointless.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

    Sarah

  2. Hi all,

I have a questions for you.

I got married 2 weeks ago and changed my last name to my husband's.

I went to the Social Security office and changed it legally while i applied for my SSN.

I got a letter back from the Social Security Office saying that they couldn't issue me with a SSN yet because my K1 visa will run out before they issue the card (i just sent off my AOS application so there i guess i have to wait for proof that i'm on the green card track).

Anyway, my problem is that all my UK ID (driver's license and passport) says my maiden name. I want to change these to my married name but obviously my passport has my K1 visa in it... has anyone had this problem... what did you do?

    Thanks

    Sarah

  3. I just had my interview (and got approved!!) in London this week.

    You will be fine.

They asked me "Where does your fiance work?"

I said "He works in Atlanta for a marketing company called ..... "

They move on very fast... it's almost like a very short pleasant conversation where you get to gush about your relationship. =)

Tell your fiance to just tell the truth.

Others are right though, you should try your utmost to get a letter from your employer showing your new salary and that you are in a permanent position.

They allow you to speak as much as you like so she/he will have plenty of time to explain the situation.

The only thing i would avoid is going to much in to detail. Just state the fact and if they need more info they will ask.

    hope it helps.

The interview is the easiest part by far! I was in and out in 2 hours and the actual interview time was only 10 minutes total. Just a lot of waiting around before hand.

    Good luck

  4. Countdown for interview is now down to 2 weeks... I'm starting to feel it... the nervousness  but my lovely man is coming in 2 days :luv: After 7 months.. finally.

So excited for you guys! 7 months since you've seen each other?! Wow! I don't know how you managed!

Here's a question... even though you've been through your interview prep 100 times and know everything is in order.. do you worry about stupid stuff they might pull you up on. For example, london request police checks for countries you have lived in for 12 months OR MORE. I lived in Israel for 2 days short of 12 months. I can prove it with passport stamps but it just niggles at me even though i know i'm right.

I think i've had a permanant headache for the last 7 months! :P

  5. Hi guys,

I am just prepping for packet 3 and interview (which should be delivered today)...

I am a bit confused though! I have the tax transcripts for the last 3 years for the USC but when i am reading the guide for the affidavit of support it makes out that i, the beneficiary, need to have my tax transcripts too!?!

    Is this correct?

If so, anyone know how i can get mine (i live in England) and how long it takes?

    thanks

    x
