  1. So far, my baby is here with me now for 3 full days and have to say that having him here with me is better than I ever thought, even in my wildest dreams, it could be!!!

POE was very smooth. I just had to wait for him a long time because there were a lot of people that had to wait to go through customs. But when I finally saw him (actually he saw me first) walking through through the doorway into the exit area of the terminal, I just was overcome with joy! He said that they just took the package from the Consulate and opened it, looked through it briefly and took a fingerprint of his index finger. He signed a paper and that was it!

All the worry and the long wait and the financial strain has all been worth it.

I'm very sure now that the best is yet to come!

Such lovely news. I can't wait for that feeling in 3 weeks and 6 days time!! Keep enjoying it!!

  6. We decided to move to the US after my hubby had been living in England on a spousal visa for a year. He never really settled here, missed his friends terribly and generally was not that happy. I don't like unhappy D! So we talked and as I had spent two 3 month trips to his homestate and loved it we began to consider the move Stateside.

I am very very close to my family, however have spent my life moving every couple of years and no really close close friends. As my parents loved where we were thinking of moving to they gave us their blessing to make the move seeing the potential for a happy, healthier life than in the UK. They are already booking in their trips over and I don't even have visa in hand yet!

In the end I wanted my hubby to be happy, WA made me so happy when I stayed there and I felt at home there within days. I love his family to bits, his friends are already closer to me than many friends I have in UK. I didn't really consider anything else.

Now as I am a couple of months away from making the move I am beginning to think about the finer details like healthcare, housing, shopping, vacation time etc but I guess I will get used to it - it is not going to change my relationship with my husband and therefore whatever it brings we will deal with. I just want to live a normal live with him again whereever that may be in the world!

  7. I would love to buy similar to the above depicted one!

    Sounds fantastic! :bonk:

    Loto

Hey Lilu, started freaking out, huh? :star:

    2 more weeks to go!

    Loto

@IS - ours just keeps going too, no matter what my hubby does! Well built little things they are! I am hoping that we might upgrade later this year but I know hubby is ridiculously attached to it and will want to keep it! I call her the 'cream bomber' as she goes like the wind (once she is on a straight road!) .

@Loto - you know its funny I haven't really panicked about the interview yet. I was more flustered about getting poked and prodded for the medical - thinking they might find I had some terrible disease or something! Ask me again next week - lol!!

  8. Congrats Malvika on earlier interview date - how lucky not to have to wait much longer!! So pleased for you!

Congrats also Debbie on approval - another happy VJer - fantastic news!!

Loto on quitting smoking - I quit many times too! To quit finally - 3 years smoke free this month - I left the country. LOL! I decided on taking a 3 month trip to New Zealand that this was the right time to quit- and I did!! It is all in the brain - you gotta want it otherwise it doesnt work!!

  9. The best deal is free. I used HR Blocks online free fililng in 2008 and 2009. Didn't have a problem. This year I'm going to use the computer application version since they gave it to me for free.

Fun things to do with wife in winter. Wake up in the middle of the night and go outside in your shorts. Stand outside for as long as you can until you're a frigid narwhal. Run inside quickly and give your wife the icy embrace of death and don't let her escape. Can't wait to try this out myself.

My darling husband decided to do something similar last year. He jumped into the glacier lake right by our cabin at like 8am and then ran back into the cabin and jump embraced me - I was like Argghghhhhhhhhhhh! It is funny AFTER the event - not during. I will get my own back on him!!
