As per my information and much I have spoke with people here along with immigration lawyer in USA, American Consulate in ISB use different agency for background check, and also he told me that, (No offence to anyone)they put cases on hold where there is age gap between couples or marriage between White American with Pakistani. Or if you are from north in Pakistan then they do extensive background checks along with field investigation, which takes time. Rest whatever it is, but I am certain background checks don’t take this long. They just put cases on hold and see how things go.

Hi, My case is in AP since 11 june 2008,thats almost 4 years. i don't know wht to do,should i go for some attorney i.e mandamus law suit?or i should do something else?

My Suggestion is, you should talk to immigration lawyer I don’t think Senator or congressman can do anything at this stage as it’s been 4 years which is veryyyyy long time. Talk to Immigration lawyer.

Insha Allah, Sister your visa is next, you know I still can’t believe that I have got the visa, these nine months were so hard. And what I have come to know, if they say it’s still pending that doesn’t mean your processing has not completed yet, as when I called on 24th Feb, and DOS said it’s pending, then on Monday 27th Feb, I sent email to ISB consulate on their new link, I received response very next day,This was very unusual as they never respond in less than 12 hours the content of email was, your case is in final process and check back in couple of weeks, and then on 29th Feb. I called to DOS and a lady told me that congratulations your visa has been issued on 28th Allahamdulillah, so printing visa and all other things are in the part of this thing, so Insha Allah, I am praying this week is your week and all others who are waiting will hear soon, Insha Allah.

Well... this week we had some good news for Foreverlove... we are at the weekend and altho I do know you can't put the AP out of your mind ... at least try to relax for two days since there isn't anyone we can contact or anything we can do until Monday... then we can start it all over again. Enjoy your loved ones... remain steadfast and happy in the warmth of their love for you and your love for them... Know that this coming week we will see another AP come to an end... INSHALLAH

Allahamdulilliah with the blessing of almighty Allah i have received my visa today

Hello and Asalam O” Alykum Everyone,

Hope you are all well and great, for almost 9 months I was waiting to write this post, this was the longest wait I ever had in my life, these 9 months which we (me and my wife) spent in stress, pain and tears were so miserable, but finally all these aches turns into the greatest happiness when I called to DOS and heard these words (YOUR VISA HAS BEEN ISSUED) Allahamdulillah I have received my visa today, I am so thankful to my Lord Allah SWT, I am also thankful to my VJ friends for your prayers and support, and especially to visa journey, you people were great help throughout this whole process, I want to thank all of you. May Allah bless you all with the happiness and Joy, Finally my visa journey is ended.

My wife is coming next month so gonna be a big break from this stress, We talked to a lawyer and oh boy he told us so many horror stories,

I just called and it’s still pending, I don’t understand why it’s taking soooo long, this process is so ridiculous and totally unfair.

Ok.. pity party over... everybody tell what is the one place is USA you will take your spouse as soon as you get the chance?

For us.. it will be the blue ridge mountains...and grandfather mountain to show him the mile high swinging bridge

What our plan is to visit Leavenworth (German Village) and after some time thinking to make family trip to Grand Canyon. but So far all the plans has been ruined by US Consulate,

I'm on the verge of tears. just called and its Still pending.

Will it ever end?, i feel like it will never end, 8 months and still no clue when this AP will be over.

The CO that gave my husband his 2nd interview came to my husbands city today. He walked around the area with a picture of my husband asking questions to the neighbors and shop keepers.

after 2 interviews and a home visit I hope the embassy is now ready to make a decision on our case.

What I have researched on visa journey and on some other websites, those applicants who’ spouses are Gori or Gora. Their AP is little longer than other couples, but still it’s very very long period. My wife is White Muslim American, and it’s been 8 and half months since I am on AP.

My wife is also Muslim American, and I don’t think this is a case, I have seen lots of cases being approved really early, but yes some got their approval really late, and I am sure they check those cases more closely who are married to White Americans,

And also the AP (paper) says clearly, every case is unique and different to other, so Only Allah knows what is the real cause of delay .

I think the guidelines state after one year on AP you can file this. Do some research in the meantime and before you get to that I'm sure your AP will be over! Wish carolyn would also see the end to this!

Insha Allah I will do some research , but I really pray that it should be over soon, and we don't have to file writ mandamus , one it's expansive secondly I feel it's risky too, but if God forbidden our AP will go longer than 1 year, then there will be no other choice. ,

I still want to file the Writ of Mandamus but I am waiting for my lawyer to tell me if it's a good idea or not. She is supposed to give me her opinion by Wednesday. I trust my lawyer and if she says for me not to do it I will follow her advice.

This month marks 14 months of us being in AR/AP. I don't know what the embassy is doing with our case. I can't understand why it is taking so long. 6 months went by before they called my husband in for a 2nd interview. It's been 8 months sense his 2nd interview. I'm so stressed I'm starting to pull my hair out.

All we can do is continue to wait and to pray.

We are also thinking to file Writ of Mandamus, as it's been 8 months since AP started and it seems like it never going to end,

yes I wish too they would give little more detail, But Allah knows better when it's gonna end.

i have received this email from consulate. so far no good news,

Dear Sir/Madam,

Our record indicates that the case is still pending under administrative process and we will contact the applicant(s) upon completion of this process. Also, time duration for the process is always approximated therefore maximum cannot be predicted.
