  1. When did they say they sent your original green card out? If they sent to the old address, isn't it suppose to be returned to them and you can just ask them to remail it?

Well, I guess you can just file for naturalization when you're approaching 90 days prior to your 3 year anniversary. That just in case you have to wait that long for your 10 years green card.

  2. I have question for those who already got their 10 year green card. The expiration date on the actual card, does it show to be expired in 10 years counting from the date of card production or the date of approval?

For example, if the date of decision in your approval letter is on Jan 5th, 2010 but the date of card production is on Jan 15th, 2010. Will the expiration date on 10 year green card be Jan 5th, 2020 or Jan 15th, 2020?

  3. I called USCIS today, the customer service guy who first assisted me didn't even realize my case was approved since the online status still says pending. So they transferred me to a higher level representative (that's what they called, I believe it's the ISO that Darnell was referring to). The higher level guy said my application was approved since Jan 10th but there was no card production yet. He said it usually take from 2 to 4 weeks for the card to be mailed to my address. They let me verify my address and told me it was the correct one that's on file.

Since it's been almost 30 days, he said was gonna put in a service request for me to let the service center know that they should produce my card asap. He gave me the service request referral number and said I should call back again if I didn't get my card within the next 30 days.

Many thanks to everybody for contributing, I hope this service request would do the trick. I'll keep you guys posted!!

  4. My ROC was approved on Jan 10, 2011 (almost 5 months after my NOA1). Since then, I've been waiting for my card to come in the mail and yet I still haven't received it. I got my approval via an actual letter in the mail, never got any email updates either for approval or card production, and my online status on USCIS website still says "initial review". The approval letter I got suggested to allow 60 days for the card to be mailed to my address. But honestly, I still haven't seen anybody that shared their timeline here had to wait this long to get their card in the mail, I see people usually got their cards within a week or two after approval. So, it has got me very worried.

Feb 10, 2011 is going to be 1 month since I received my approval letter and Feb 18, 2011 is going to be my 6 months anniversary since the day I originally filed for I-751.

Should I wait 60 days before I contact them or should I just make infopass right when I hit my 6 months processing time frame if I still haven't received my card? I'm not really sure if the 6 months processing time frame means you suppose to get your card by then or what.

Has anybody in the same situation here?

  5. It's a pain, isn't it... FWIW I got the email and text notifications, then 4 days later the card came in the mail, and it was another week or so before the approval letter came. I had multiple emails/texts and eventually the status was updated on the USCIS website, but it was after I got the card, certainly. Kinda topsy-turvy, huh...:bonk: Unfortunately, this is just a patience game. I had to wait till mid-December for my biometrics. At least you've had the approval letter and not been asked for an interview. I know you want the card, but at least you know it's on its way! Hang in there! :)

Thanks for your kind words StoryAngel. Congratulations on your approval and the new card. I guess there's nothing I can do except just keep waiting. I still haven't received any new updates on my online status, so I'm not sure if they even order card production for me yet. But hopefully the same thing happen to me that I get the card and then status update later.. that would be awesome. :)

Yurika & Jim. Thanks a lot for updating my timeline :)

  6. I got my approval letter in the mail dated the decision date on 1/10/11 and up until now I'm still waiting for my card. It's frustrating since most people (both from August and September's filers list) usually get their card within a week or two after approval.

Has anybody from August here still waiting for their cards after approval? I checked my USCIS online status and it's still say "initial review", and I still haven't got any email notifications for card production. I had to wait almost 5 months for my approval letter and now I have to wait longer than others for card production. I'm so sick of waiting.. urghh!!!!

  7. Thanks everybody for your replies. I guess I'm a little too paranoid about everything and that's just my nature. Also, after almost 5 months of waiting and being one of the last filers in August's list who got approved while 75% of September filers did get approved before me, I already thought I will be called for interview for sure. Thank God it didn't happen.

It still says pending on USCIS website but I guess it doesn't matter since I got my approval letter. Thanks again everybody.

PS. Yurika&Jim, it's interesting you got your approval letter on fancy paper. Maybe it was a VSC thing, I'm not sure.

  8. Hi All,

I just received approval letter in the mail from USCIS today. Only the letter in the mailbox, no card, no email or text message notifications. The letter says "Congratulations! Your request for the removal of the conditional basis of your permanent resident status has been approved. You are deemed to be a lawful Permanent Resident of the United States as of the date of your original admission or adjustment of status."

Also the letter suggested I should receive a new card within 60 days. The date of decision on the letter is 01/10/2011. However, I'm a little surprised that the approval letter was printed on just a plain white paper, not a USCIS letterhead like other letter I used to get from them. So I have a few questions for those who already got their approval letter.

    1. Do the approval letters you guys get were printed on a plain white paper just like me?

    2. For me, on the bottom left corner, it was printed the address of my local office, however, the envelope was postmarked and sent from Lincoln, NE. Is this the same as everyone?

I'm still a little skeptical since I've been waiting for a long time (almost 5 months), and also there's no email updates for me like others. I just checked the USCIS website, it's still pending. So I'm not sure if I should celebrate just yet.

  9. Psho, first of all Happy birthday to you and I'm so sorry for the RFE, it's a pain in the butt!! However, this at least means they've picked up your file and reviewed it. I've seen a lot of people got approved shortly after submitting more evidences. I'm sure you'll be fine.

For me, I still don't know what's going on with my case, no RFE, no update, no approval.. it's frustrating. It's been over 3 months after my bio.

  10. Thanks a lot!! Yurika & Jim and RMC for your supportive replies. I still haven't heard anything from USCIS so far. I can't help but thinking there might be something wrong with my case since I'm almost the only person out of August filers list that still waiting. Almost half of September filers have already got approved before me, as well as I am happy for them but still also frustrating to see :(

  11. Now I'm getting real worried. Jan 7th will be 3 months after my bio and Jan 17th would be 5 months since I filed. I just called USCIS call center and they said my case's still pending. Why does it take so long? Seems like I'm the only one who has to wait this long.

Does it look like I might get called for interview? How long does it usually take to be informed for interview? I'm so stressed out right now.
