  1. Just received an email from NVC entitled "CHECKLIST COVER LETTER" - but this time it's not a false RFE. The body of the "checklist cover letter" reads: "The NVC has received the information you submitted and placed it in your case file. You will be contacted when your petition is sent to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate for further processing." Translation: NVC is indicating that our case is complete and their next email will give us our appointment date & time at the Bangkok Embassy :dance:

    Thats AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Pretty clear... They tried to get him here to use the loophole of AOS. Let's all be honest with each other and call everything what it is. COs are not stupid. You tried to get him here on student visa, get married, and apply for AOS exploring loophole in the law. They caught it and now you have a problem. You need to be upfront for anyone to give you advice. From your timeline it is clear that you applied for visa knowing that you will get married, right? Why student visa then? This is pretty obvious.

    I think you are ignorant and rude to make an accusation like that.

  3. The damsel files nothing in Mexico, Brasil, or otherwise, for said USCitizen living in USA.

    The USCitizen files to the Chicago LockBox, then later, if the USCitizen won't file said damsel's IV application for her, said damsel must file it herself, via postal mail, to the NVC postal address (in the USA)

    OTOH, if you are trying to refer to DCF, Direct Consular Filing of an I-130, chasing after a Visa *that way*, why not say so ?

    May be they are refering to the interview.

  4. duplicate post in the AOS forum has been removed as this is the correct forum for this discussion.

    Why not go to the post office and notify them of the error? Ask to speak to the Postmaster or Postmistress and explain your situation. They will know what employee has that route to deliver. Ask them to instruct that employee (or the sorting department if that is also appropriate) not to list it as undeliverable but ask them if they will 'hold' any mail sent to that address and then notify you so you can go in and pick it up with proper identification. I am not sure if your Post office will do this but some of the smaller Post Offices tend to be more sympathetic to situations like this and may be willing to work 'with you' on this matter. It is at least worth a try. In the meantime, be sure to change your address to the correct address with USCIS.

    I agree with you. I've gotten mail with the wrong address and misspelled name!

  5. I thought Kazakhstan abolished the Exit Visa law in 2002. My Wife says that the Migration Police are requiring her to get notorized statements from her children, parents and ex-husband, giving her permission to leave Kazakhstan. Has anyone else run across this? Is it legal? Is there any way around it? Does anyone know the specific law that abolished this requirement? I searched google but found no answers. We can get these statements but it would be nice to avoid the extra expense.

  6. Received the NVC's "NOA1 for Petitioners" package in the mail yesterday, containing:

    * NVC Case Number

    * Affidavit of Support Processing Fee Bill Invoice

    * Barcoded DS-3032 form

    The online payment system is down for maintenance since 6PM last night, but I'll pay the AOS fee as soon as it comes back up.

    We are emailing the DS-3032, but using a variation on the DS-3032 emailing procedure given here:

    http://www.visajourn...il_DS-3032_form

    Our variation is:

    * Petitioner scans the barcoded DS-3032 form and emails it to Beneficiary

    * Beneficiary prints, signs and dates the barcoded DS-3032 form and then scans it

    * Beneficiary attaches the scanned signed, dated & barcoded DS-3032 form to the email

    * Beneficiary adds a line of text to the email noting that the signed, dated and barcoded DS-3032 form is attached.

    Thats awsome!! It so nice to hear the sound of progress! Hopefully we will be right on your heels.

  7. Hi Rosy, I am in same boat as you are.I am planning to put congressional inquiry. I heard that involving congressman or senator in your case can end up giving you RFE or denial of petition....is that true...what is your opinion.....what is right step to take in this situation..

    I would be patient and wait until 5 months pass before involving a congressman. You will get NOA2 befor you know it!
