  1. Hello VJ!

My sister in law is currently in the UK for a 3 year contract as a Nurse. She plans on applying for a tourist visa to attend my baby's Christening (her nephew). My question is, She is also under petition by my mother in law here in the US. Will this affect her when she apply's for a US tourist Visa?

    Thanks guys!

  2. If you've filed your 2010 tax return then it is the most recent tax return, period.

    Pushbrk...

I have my 2009 transcript included in case they will asked for but when submitting the evidence of support should I include it together with my 2010? My 2009 is below poverty line.

For my 2010 I have my 1099 attached to my 1040. I wanted to request for my 2010 Transcript but it wont be available till late Feb. :(

    Hi

Im taking my 2010 to interview they just say if you dont have they wont ask for it till April 2011, they will want to see your previous year. They will accept it if you have it.

Thanks PaulandBeckyR, I sure hope they consider this in Manila. :(

  3. I am self employed. My 2009 income did not meet the poverty line requirements but my 2010 income is above. I have already filed my 1099 1044 2010 income tax return as soon as I was able to and I have everything ready for my fiance interview on January 28th 2011. My question is, how soon will they consider my 2010 income tax to be my current income? I read here that somewhere closer to the month of April will be considered for 2010. If that's the case, should I just wait and reschedule our interview? Our k-1 is good till march 28. :( help me!

  4. I am 24 years old and i only have my 2009 and 2010 tax returns to show proof of my income. My 2009 tax return is below poverty line for i only worked part time. My 2010 however is above poverty line. I am self employed Caregiver and I have been with my employer since October of 2008. My Employer's CPA is going to write me a Letter of Employment stating my current income and so on...I plan to collect all 2009-2010 deposited slips on my bank statement for it is one proof that I am getting paid every week. Also Tax transcript. Please, if you have any idea...if this will be ok during my fiance' interview next year (in a month or so)? We recently got approve. And i am gathering everything for my affidavit of support.

  5. no. call for an interview appt first because if you do it the other way around, bdo/bpi will have no application info to tie your payment to.

fill in your profile info here on vj too so others know the context of your question and future questions. :)

I thought that you must pay the K visa application fee before you can schedule an interview appointment.

Well, just read on the revised k1 instructions: REVISED K-1 INSTRUCTIONS

  6. Hi, I´d like to know if for the k1 petition it´s ok to send black and white copies of the US Citizen's naturalization certificate and the passport.

US citizen has two passports, both with stamps... the passport copies are evidence of having met, so do we have to send copies of all the pages in both passports or just the ones with the stamps?

    Thanks in advance!

For the US Citizen Passports...I think it is better if it's colored copies. And yes, SEND COPIES OF ALL PAGES IN BOTH PASSPORTS!!!

  7. I got this from one of the VJ members: REPOST

5 business days after you receive your NOA2, call the NVC(NVC IS the Dept of State) at 603-334-0700, give them your USCIS receipt number and they will give you your case number it will be MNLXXXXXXXXXXX, this will be your DOS case number going forward, ask them if they have sent your case to Manila yet, if they have not yet, call back everyday until they tell you they have. They send your case electronically same day, and it usually takes about 4 days for them to DHL the hard copy to the Embassy in Manila, however once they send it electronically, you can start calling for an interview appointment, as it will be in the system. Once you call into the call center and make an appt, you can go for your Medical, as the call center will send you an email verifying your interview appt print this out, along with a copy of your NOA2 to your interview. I have heard of people going to medical, and just giving there MNL case number...you can try, but I cant verify if this is accurate or not!

So the procedure is, wait 3-5 business days after your NOA2, call the NVC, get your MNL case number, then start calling to schedule your interview, once you have done this, they will send you an email with your interview appointment verification, then go for your Medical.

And as for your MEDICAL I got this from the REVISED K-1 INSTRUCTIONS: REVISED K-1 INSTRUCTIONS

St. Luke’s Medical Center Extension Clinic (SLMCEC) is the Embassy’s accredited medical facility. It is located at 1177 J. Bocobo St., Ermita, Manila. The telephone numbers are 521-0020 and 521-8647, and it is open for business Monday through Friday (except on Philippine holidays), from 6:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. When you go to SLMCEC for medical examination, you must bring your passport and one photo (size: 2” x 2”).

It is important to complete your medical examination before you come to the Embassy for your visa interview.

And also from another VJ member:

    - bring at least 3 visa photo

    - letter from embassy

    - confirmation email that you have set a schedule for interview
