  1. Wow…how old are you if you don’t mind me asking? I’m just trying to do the “math” in my head, but at least one of your parents was a US Resident when you were born here?...or perhaps your mom was just visiting? I assume you traveled on the charter with A-2 visa?...There aren’t any “tourist visas” on the charter flights I think. When you say “customs”, are you talking about US or Cuba…We di...

  3. I met my wife in Habana, but she's from Jamaica, Guantanamo...so that's where we spend most of our time there. I actually was visiting the Cancun, MX area for a month, and as I was getting somewhat bored, I decided to visit Cuba...the rest is history...ja ja. It is complicated there...Are both your parents Cuban citizens, and were you born there? Or do you have a US, and Cuban passport?

  5. Hey...send a note anytime with questions. We immigrated with the old laws, but I'm very current with the new laws too. We've done 1 successful visit to Cuba since the new laws passed. I was VERY nervous to see if we did it right, and I studied a LOT. Let us know if you have any questions. We're happy to help.

  7. Just a detail...ALL Cubans will ALWAYS be Cuban CITIZENS, and need a Cuban passport to enter/exit Cuba. The difference is in RESIDENCY...With the new laws, Cubans can still be residents after being out of the Cuba for less than two years, thus maintaining Cuban rights. We missed this "new boat", because we were early, but in reality my wife still has most of her Cuban rights.

  9. Everyone needs the "Carta Blanca" to exit Cuba, but it comes in different forms...Salida Definitiva (SD), Permiso Viajar al Exterior (PVE), Permiso Salida Indefinitiva (PSI)...etc. It's probably actually "quickest" to do (PVE), because they don't inspect your house. With (SD) they do (because you're not coming back). We started out with (SD), but changed to (PVE),...

  25. We really do have our NOA2. We received the email notification on January 11th, and received the hard copy in the mail yesterday. Looking at other Cuba timelines, it seems a "quicker" NOA2 is normal, but Cubans need to wait much longer than most for an interview at the consulate. I'm guessing that USCIS allows for this up front so the process as a whole takes about the same timef...
