  1. Hi everyone.. I went to my interview today and recommended for approval :) my interview was very short and sweet. My scheduled time was 11 am and i checked in at 10:30. I got called in about 10:40 and was done by 11.. The officer was nice just asked me a few questions about my husband and why he wasnt with me. She swore me in and then she asked me the yes and no questions from application. Then made me read "who lives in the white house" and write "the president lives in the white house".. Then asked me my civic questions.. Which i answered 6 correctly and the only question i remember is "who is in charge of the executive branch".. Then she gave me the paper and told me to wait for the oath taking schedule in the mail.. Good luck to everyone who are still waiting.. Just hang in there :)

  2. Hi... Sorry to hear about RFE.. You should try sending copies of club membership cards if u have, copies of credit cards, if u have any loans together like car loan or personal loan u can send the loan agreement.. My husband and i live with my parents for now so we didnt have any lease agreement nor utility bills to send but we had all the other stuff i mentioned above and thankfully was approved recently.. So just try to send as much proof as u can..

  3. Ok! Im just a little curious because not long ago (march) i had gone to get i551 stamped & the person there happened to be the visa officer who said he generally took interviews but due to a staff not doing well he was helping them.Anyways,He spent almost 1.5 hrs with us(my wife & i ) exchanged all experiences of his life asked about me ,her how we met etc etc ........and was constantly doing something on the computer as well. For a minute i thought maybe he is going to approve my GC there and then itself(lol) .Although my status still shows initial review & im out of town for next few weeks.....so dont know whats cooking.

Congrats once again & all the very best.

Thank you... Just hang in there im pretty sure u will receive ur approval soon ;)

  4. @Catsy,Many congratulations.Did you sign up for any email /text updates or none? Just curious whether people are getting approval notices only via mail.

Cheers & good luck for everything.

Thank you and Yes I did and I just checked it to see if it has been updated and its still "initial review" there. I noticed on my letter that its signed by the director of the local uscis here.. So i dont know if that has anything to do with the case updates on the website...

  5. I read the responses in your separate thread, and I agree with Vanessa&Tony. If I were in your position, I would probably skip the meeting and go to the scheduled appointment. Just be honest with your boss and see if you can get some vacation time (precious, I know, but immi stuff is important).

I took my husband in for biometrics today. We only have one car, so I had to take some vacation time to go. It was empty when we got there for our 3 PM appointment. Anyone who is thinking of attempting a walk-in, I recommend going at the end of the day, like 3 PM. We had a morning appointment for AOS, and it was much more crowded at that time.

Question: I can't remember if they kept our biometrics appointment notice for AOS or if they gave it back. This time, they gave it back to us, and I'm not sure that's normal! For those of you who took biometrics already, did you get yours back?

Hi leenie... When i went for my biometrics for aos they did give me back my appt letter and i still have it actually... Its neat coz my bio for my aos is the same date as my bio for roc (except for the year of course lol)...

  6. Hi... I am not sure if im posting in the right forum but just please move it if necessary... So here's the situation and question...

My stepdad petitioned his brother and his brother's daughter to come here and signed an affidavit of support for them of course and visa was approved and got here 2 years ago. His niece decided that she is not happy and left to move to another state but before she moved to another state she went to visit her bf in canada and stayed there for 6 mons. While there she got pregnant and they got married before she left to go back to US. She went back to the US to wait for her husband's petition to be a permanent resident in canada. She doesnt have a job and is pregnant so she applied for medicaid and recently got approved. Her relationship with her husband is in limbo now coz she havent spoken to him for a month now and she is due to give birth in 2 mons.

    Question:

    1. Will my stepdad get in trouble coz she applied and got approved for medicaid without his knowledge coz he signed an affidavit of support for them?

Thank u and hoping for some good opinions about this situation

  7. Hi! We're sending our papers tomorrow, too. It will be so nice to get it out of my hands (but it will still be on my mind, of course )

s only a few small things I would suggest:

    1. A lease signed by both of you or a mortgage document would really round out your package as far as shared residence is concerned. Do you have anything like that to include?

    2. For your bank statements, you might want to include a few that are dated between the account opening and the present. You don't have to send one for every single month you have been married, though.

    Good luck!

Thanks Leenie:)...Good luck to you too!!! but my husband and I live with my parents still but we have lived in the same house since we filed for AOS...Most of the documents we're sending has our address printed on them. I hope that's sufficient and won't have any problems. I am finishing everything today so I can send it out by tomorrow so I can start the waiting game....hehe... as for bank statement I added a few...thanks again!!! :)

  8. Hi everyone!!! Its that time for me to file my i-751... Im planning on sending my papers tomorrow ;)... Here is my list of documents:

    - form i-751

    - front and back copy of permanent resident card

    - copies of state ids and driver's licenses showing same addresses

    - copies of income tax returns filing jointly 2010 and 2011

    - copies of credit cards showing same card numbers

    - copies of costco and sams club membership cards

    - copies of car registration showing both of us as registered owners

    - copy of car title for our old car showing both as owners

    - copies of joint checking acct statements (this one i am planning to send just the statement when we first opened acct and the most recent one... Or is it better to send copies of each statement since 2010?)

    - copies of joint savings acct at fcu (this one i am planning to send just the same as checking)

    - copy of purchase of car from dealer

    - copy of contract signed for 1st car loan

    - copy of contract signed for refinance of car loan

    - copies of car insurance cards

    - copies of pictures with my husband's kids visit in 2011

    - copies of benefits election for 2012 and 2012 from my work showing my husband as primary beneficiary

    - copies of envelopes of invitations and cards addressed to us

    - copies of few letters addressed to both of us

Do u think these would be enough evidence? we dont have utility bills under both our names :( Is there anything else u can suggest i send?

  9. One more question: worst case scenario how long would it take from AOS filing to Permanent Resident Card or at least long term EAD?

It took 69 days for me to get my EAD(valid for 1 year) in hand from the time they started processing my AOS. I think the processing time really depends on how busy your local USCIS office. Some people here got their EAD sooner than I did. I suggest that you and your fiance get married soon so that way you can file for your AOS before August. It will save you a lot of time and money if you just go straight in filing AOS in my opinion. Check out my timeline below to give you an idea :)

  10. Hi Sorbolo,

In my opinion, since you said that you and your fiance are planning on getting married soon if I were in your situation I would just file AOS because when you file for AOS it includes I-765(application for work permit) which when approved will allow you to work while your AOS is pending. Also, when your AOS is approved then you become a conditional LPR already. I think this would save you more time and money if you take this route. I don't think you have to worry about your AOS being denied as long as your marriage is legite. I am not an expert, I am just sharing my opinion with you. :) BTW, I also adjusted from F1 and was approved just 3 weeks ago. :)
