  1. Just ask the MIL to tell the CBP officer truthfully that she is coming to US to stay and adjust status.

    Problem solved :)

    Finally, some real answers.

    Don't forget the cat.

No cat, she does have a dog. Would that work smart a$$?

Good night all, it's been fun.

  2. Perfectly acceptable response on my part.. I am not attempting to void the TOS. This forum is a DIY forum. Not professionals. Good people who have been here more than five minutes and know what is what.

I have no idea what your status as an army vet has to do with the price of apples. None the less, my former Marine would like it very much if you would not behave in a manner disrespecting your service.

Exactly my point. Disrespecting other people is not what army or marines is about.

What on earth has you military background got to do with anything?

If I have to explain it to you,

It's about standing up for what you believe in.

  3. If you are posting on this forum, it is up to the mods to decide, not USCIS. Case isn't closed sunshine, and you know, if you want help in the future, I would suggest you modulate your tone. A lot.

What you are suggesting, and intending to attempt is fraud. Read the TOS.

I would suggest you do the same too sunshine. I wasn't replying to you sunshine. I thought this was a professional forum. As am US Army vet, I find this reply disgusting.

  4. My point is it's not up to you or anyone to decide if my question is fraud. It's up to uscis to decide. I was just simply asking a question, and I thought that was the purpose of the form. One could still argue what you did was fraud because you knew you were pregnant while applying for tourist visa. Case closed.

  5. Hello,

My mother in law is coming to visit us in US soon on a tourist visa. My wife is a green card holder now, but hopefully she will be getting her US citizenship soon. My question is, if my wife gets her citizenship while her mother is in the US on a tourist visa, how would we convert it to a green card for her mother?

    Thanks,

    Tony

  6. Hello,

My mother-in-law have bio-metrics and interview coming up in April for her B2 tourist visa in Chennai, India. I'm getting all the paper works ready. I couldn't find any information about this, but does she need to get police clearance before the interview to let the consulate know she have no criminal records? If yes, how many years does she need to go back?

What other documents should I get ready? She have some photos of her and me, her sponsor. Should I do an invitation letter? Any other documents?

    Thanks,

    Tony

  7. I'm using the correct link, the one you just used to create the bogus account. I'm getting the same errors.

Update, I was able to create a bogus account also, but when I type in the name I used in DS-160, it won't accept. Interesting, I'm thinking there's a delay?

  8. This is the URL where I'm going to create an account

    https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=India

Below is the error it's giving me. I only applied for the DS-160 this Saturday, the 16th, so I'm not sure if there's a delay. I'm going to wait a couple of days and try again. I guess my DS-160 is not in the system yet.

  9. Hello VJ members,

I just submitted the online DS-160 for B-2 tourist visa for my mother in law in India. I choose Chennai, India consulate. What's the next step? Where would I go to make the $160 payment? Does the payment have to be made online in U.S dollars or can my mother in law make the payment when she's at the consulate with Indian rupees equivalent to $160?

I know I need to schedule a visa interview appointment also. I just submitted the online form, how long should I wait to schedule the interview for her?

Finally, what other documents do I need? I know she needs to bring DS-160 confirmation page, her current and past passports with her. What else? Should I type up an invitation letter to stay with us also?

    Thanks as always,

    Tony

  10. Yes, you're right, sorry.

You said in your earlier reply "6 months. However if the reason of childcare is given she may have a difficult time obtaining the visa"

Let's say that the reason is strictly for vacation, how would I bring her to US?

  11. Hello,

I'm a U.S citizen, and my wife has a green card. We are having a baby in 8 months, and I would like to bring my wife's mother to U.S to care for the baby. How would I do that? Which for do I fill out? If my mother in law gets a tourist visa, how long can she stay in the US?

My wife is applying for her US citizenship, does it make a difference if my wife applies to bring her mother once she gets her citizenship?

    Thanks as always,
