Does my fiancee needs to have round trip ticket when coming to USA or one way flight is also acceptable. Please let me know..thanks

Only reason i ask is because when i called travel agency one of them told me that it may be required to have round trip ticket because fiancee visa is not immigrant visa yet....

Oke i received my NO2 on January 12. I was just wondering what is the next step and how long it takes for them to forward the aplication from NVC to the embassy? Can somebody put some light on this and tell me i would really appreciate it. Also I called the DOS today and they gave me case number and also told me that application is still with the NVC center why????

normally they send you an email if you sign up for email and txt notifications but sometimes you dont get the email or txt you just receive the hard copy in the mail. sometimes they dont even update the website and you will get either email txt or hard copy so it really just depends. Good Luck also after looking at your timeline I noticed you have exceeded the 5month mark if I were you I would give them a call to see what the status is.

I called them already like 5-6 time and every time i get same response...wait wait wait. Did two service request on the case....first one was that case is under review and to wait 30 days. Second one was the same thing but now i have to wait 60 days....so i assuming the third one is gonna be to wait 120 days. Today im going to see my congressman again...this is a really painfull process that make my life really deppresing

In two days im hitting a six month mark and still didnt hear anything about my case. Did two service request....first one was to wait 30 days and i should receive the decison....nothing.....second one now is to wait 60 days and i should receive the decision.....whats next????? wait 120 daysss 150 dayssss?????

I agree with others in that you need to keep calling, but of course, not every day: I don't think that would achieve much, but periodically, absolutely!

Im also planing to go to local USCIS office where i live...would this make any difference and is there anything they can do??? Did anybody tried this already??

it doesnt make you look anything,half the time all they do is manually check your case status.sometimes they dont even do that.

OP emailing USCIS worked for me.my fiance called them five times,they didnt even bother to check our case status manually.after i emailed them i found out we have been approved for about one month now.so try doing that

I called USCIS today twice to let them know that my application was outside the 5 month processing goal. First time when I called they gave me e-mail address for Vermont to do the follow up on the case.

Second time when I called they told me they can not do the request for the case outside the timeframe (5 month) because I called them on November 15 and now I need to wait 30 days before they can file another request. But I received the letter on the November 27 from the Vermont that application is pending and still in 5 month processing goal and when expires 5 month to give them call back.

I’m totally confused now and don’t know what to do...Should I email them or just wait for December 16 to call them back????? OMG this doesn’t make any sense and I’m getting so frustrated

Thanks for this info.. we are close to your timeline as our 5 months are up on Monday.. I don't even know why they bother sending out a letter.. Are they that ignorant to the fact we can see people being approved in no order whatsoever??

Anyway, Ive had my rant on here a couple of days back.. Ill call up on monday and let you all know what happened straight away..

I called the USCIS office on November 15 and they send inquiry on my case to Vermont Center. Yesterday i recevied the letter from them stating:

"Our review indicates that this case is actually within our current processing time. We are currently processing cases filed on June 22, 2010. We regret any misunderstanding. If you dont receive a decision or notice of other action within our current processing time, check our website for an update or call customer service at the number provided below..."

Letter is dated November 22, 2010 and it was mailed on 11/26/10.

I got only six more days until 5 month is up....

guys, remember also, VJers do not signify the entirety of the cases that either service center handles, we are probably just a small number of them in fact. i'm sure they are approving cases, just not people that are members of this site.
