Hello all,
Thanks for all the info through the last couple years.
Looking for some new direction.
She arrived from Thailand on a K-1
Married 7 months.
She has recently received her green card and ssn.
And yesterday left for greener pastures.
We would qualify for “summary dissolution”, no children, joint property, ect.
But she does not want to divorce the money cow.
How can I learn what to do next?? This has gone past the point of reconciliation.
1. Stop being financially responsible for her escapades
2. Can immigration help
Thanks for your constructive input

Hello All,
Title says it. How do we know when the NVC receives and sends out our paper work? Approximate time frame?
Thanks

Thanks for the replies.
•Sounds like the last years tax return is important even if it shows near zero.
•The question about whether or not the reviewing officer will approve the visa with only a 6 month record of full time employment and a back-up savings still perturbs our sleep. Hence the thought of asking a Thai visa lawyer for consul.
Best regards

Given that each application is unique,
Does the following give enough evidence?
•Should a copy of last year’s tax filing be included even if I did not work ( tax filing not required by IRS but asked for in visa application)
2010 did not work (voluntary) Copy of the last years tax filing asked for in visa application, but Accountant said that filing in my case is not required???
2011 January, Began full time employment, currently at 35,000 annual salary
When packet #3 will be sent back to the Bangkok embassy, the employment letter and check stubs will show approximately 6 months of full time employment.
Also have 80K in savings, no debt and good credit
Enlightened consul appreciated and perhaps an address for a lawyer specializing in immigration from Thailand.
Thanks

Thanks for the clear and ample information.
Now the different texts found are beginning to make sense.
When I looked up the poverty line for five dependants, I forgot to add 25%.

Thanks for the reply,
Is the 125% level set after deductions? I found for 5 dependents $25,800?
Have looked on this site and others but have not found the equation with explanation to the Financial responsibility?????

Hello All,
Have just sent the first K1 packet and setting up employment for 2011.
Have been unemployed 2009 and 2010. Received no government assistance.
What salary level will be correct for 125% of the poverty line. Have three children and pay 600 dollars a month child support. Household 5? Myself, fiancée, child support for 3 children?
Will 6 months of a decent salary, with letter from employer and 90k in savings be enough for the embassy in Bangkok, Thailand? I hear that the Bangkok embassy will not except a co-sponsor.
Thanks

Have read the link several times.
My question is about the actual assemblage of the packet, separation of the contents, tabs and fasteners?

Hello All,
Thanks for the recent replies.
The first packet for a K-1 from Thailand is near ready.
The stack of paper is looking clean and complete. (50+ pages)
Have a complete cover letter with 10 contents separated by paper clips.
Hope to learn from your knowledge.
How are the elements grouped and assembled?(Saw the photo of the fasteners)
Bottom tabs?
Thanks

Thanks for all your views.
Chose the K1 because it gives us a project of the visa process
and a couple months in the states together before exchanging vows.
Filing three years of back tax forms is under way.
Sending packet I-129F next week, December.
Will arrange for employment starting in January.
Have others heard about Bangkok not accepting sponsors on the K1 visa?
Interview perhaps June?

Hello All,
Filing the K1 visa petition- Employment ???
Back ground info,
52 yrs old, Moved to France 1992 until 2008. Moved back to USA 2008 to present -unemployed.
Have never asked for government assistance.
Have not filed taxes in USA since 1992.
Question: Concerning "employment" How best to fill in the forms? What to do for smooth processing?
Note, we are not destitute, have money in the bank, a sponsor if needed and employment lined up for next year.
Thanks for your assistance
