When you notify the consulate that you are ready for your interview do they schedule it all by themselves or do they check/utilize NVC for scheduling your interview?

Hello all, long time follower first time poster.
My fiancee and I received our NOA2 on December 27th and NVC sent our case to the Johannesburg Embassy on January 3rd. As of today the Embassy hasn't processed our case yet (although I am pretty sure they received it on the 7th, we have a case number). My question is can my fiancee schedule her medical appointment even though the Embassy hasn't processed our case?

Hello,
Yes they do. I quit my job to be with my fiancee in SA until she got her fiancee visa. My sister was the co-sponsor. No questions asked.
