  1. We are in the process of getting prepare n wanted to know if US embassy in Accra will need the originals or copies of the tax transcripts?

My Husband & I are going through this now it's one thing we did not have at his first Interview. I had sent him all my tax returns. That is not what they wanted. You need to go to www.irs.gov & request the tax transcripts for the specified years. The embassy in Ghana will not accept your printed off or copied tax returns. They want something directly from the IRS. At least thats the impression we got & were told. I received everything from the IRS quite quickly within 2 weeks after submitting the request. Hope this helps

  2. Hi all, I need some help. I mailed form I-130 on August 11th and got my NOA1 on the 20th. I know I have a long time to go before I receive NOA2 but in the meantime I just want to know what is stated in NOA2? Do they ask for anything to be mailed to USCIS? Does it state the time and date of the interview? Does it ask for Affidavit of Support? What is it all about? I really appreciate your help. Thank you!

The NOA2 basicaly states the USCIS acknowledges you have a relationship with your spouce & they then forward all your papers to the NVC to be processed further. You then need to wait to be contacted by the NVC. They do the Affidivit of Support & Visa Applications, other forms, biometrics etc. etc. & more fees. Hope that helps

  3. OK Mrs....

There is no need for the I-134...just the I-864 for your mother--repeat DO NOT send the I-134--it will only confuse things. Has your financial situation changed since your original I-864 filing?? If so, you should include an updated I-864 for yourself. You are absolutely right to cover all your bases so you don't have to wait any longer

By the way, my daughter lives in Auburn, and I used to live in Aurora--really like the finger lakes area. Are you in Syracuse itself, or nearby ?? And has your husband ever even dreamed of 10 feet of snow in the winter?? Our interview is the same day as his and my wife has no idea what ice and snow and zero degree temperatures mean !!

We should exchange stories at the end of the first winter !!

Oh Thank you so much for your insight. I get so flustered reading other peoples Stories & experiences. I feel like we have come this far Id hate to have any set backs. Im shredding the I-134 & calling the NVC tomorrow just for some extra clarification on where to send the joint sponcer papers ie.. to him for the interview or to the NVC/USCIS directly..

And we are 45 minutes North East of Syracuse, right on Oneida Lake. My Husband has never experienced the snow or freezing temperatures before. I have however tried to prepare him over the past 2 & a half years with pictures & stories. Ive purchased electric blankets for him specificaly in mind. He will freeze his butt off the first few years Im sure.

We should definetly exchange stories come Spring. Best of luck to you & your wife on your interview.

  4. I'm confused. It says you are following the CR-1/IR-1 path, so if that is true you would have submitted the I-864 to the NVC already, and they at first glance would have thought you met the minimum standards, and sent it on to the embassy. Having said that, the embassy makes the final decision. Also, if yo are in fact on the CR-1/IR-1 path, you do not use teh I-134, so can you please clarify exactly what path you are on, and what has been approved so far??

LOL.. Im very confused to with my husbands appointment quickly approaching I think im reading to much stuff & worrying myself. Yes we are married Filing IR1/CR1. I filed the I-864 & Now just had my mother also fill out the I-864. Im express mailing both completed signed forms the I-864 & I-134 to my husband with all evidence. I would hate to have the CO look at my husband & say you need a co-sponcer return in 6 months with the evidence. We have been waiting for this interview since April 2010.

  5. After reading the recent post about needing a co sponcer for the affidavit of support, I have very serious doubts about my income will be acceptable. I do have my Mother who will be a co-sponcer for us with an adequate income. She has already filled out the I 134 form for me. And copied all the evidence needed. My question is if anyone knows can I send it directly to my husband in Accra for his upcoming interview to provide to the CO if needed? Or do I need to send it to the USCIS?? Im confused & trying to be as prepared as we can possibly be. Expecting the worst but hoping for the best. Any information is greatly appreciated.

  6. wow congrats, i just looked at your timeline and wow, thats perseverance good luck the rest of the way

Thank You ALL so Much ! We are very Excited & just can't wait to be together again, I was just about to plan my third trip if we didn't get any news by December. I was going there for Christmas & stay to ring in the New Year. Looks like now we will be doing it together AT HOME. To be overjoyed & happy doesn't do justice the emotions im feeling. It's been a long road to say the least with lots of up's & down's glad to see an end in sight!

  7. congrats to both of you. Wishing you all the best in the next process. Pls. Can you share with us when your care was completed? Thanks

    *case

Our case completed at the NVC April 27th 2010, It's been a very long wait. But there is finaly a sign of movement with CR1 cases. Thank You everyone for all your kind words & congratulations. Today is truely a great day. Can't wait to have My Husband Home !

  8. At 4:38AM we both received emails from the NVC telling us our case has been forwarded to the Embassy in Accra, Ghana. Our interview is scheduled for early September. So very excited, Good news finaly. Now I'm starting to get nervous. Medical Exams, X-Rays, Vaccines, Blood work. Updated Police Report, Last years income taxes. All needs to be done quick, quick, quick. So stinking Happy !!

  9. Thank God I picked my CR-1 appt. package at US Embassy in Accra. The shocking part is that, the interview date is not due until March 1, 2012. I was upset but am cool now cos with God nothing long. Atleast I know my date now and wishing good luck to everyone who has got their date yet.

First of all let me say Im so happy for you & your wife to get such good news, Congradulations. But I must say I'm so very upset & disgusted with this whole system Your case was 4 months behind me & my husband. I do not understand why we did not get an interview. We finalized the NVC April 2010 & you August 2010 yet we have had no news & NO August interview. So frustrated :(

  10. Hello Everyone at VisaJourney. I'm fairly new to this site & I'm a bit shy. I take awhile to look around first. My name is Brandi I'm married to a wonderfull man named Anthony, he lives in Accra Ghana, West Africa. We are 15 months into our marriage & our immigration process. I filed the I-130 last October 2009 with the USCIS right after our wedding. Our case moved fairly quickly throught the USCIS, California Service Station. Was sent to the NVC in February 2010. Anthony & I filed, filled out & paid all fees for the appropriate paperwork within a month. Our case was then accepted April 27th 2010 we were given our case number & we are currently still waiting for our documents to be sent to Accra Ghana for a Visa Interview to be scheduled. This process is extremely frustrating, All we want to do is start our family together. :)
