  1. Oh wow, that stinks. Iam so sorry to hear that. Did you include this information initially in your packet? If so, and you can prove that this was included, I would suggest calling them on Monday, between 4-5pm their time and discuss it with them. FYI I am not sure if you have called the consulate before, but if you have, make sure you select immigrant visa, then selection I believe option 1 for regarding a particular case to speak with someone directly. When you make this selection, if it rings but puts you through to an extension, keep calling, eventually you will get to someone. I would simply call them and ask them how long they usually take to re-schedule an interview for supplimental documentation that needed to be provided. I wish you the best of luck, and please keep us informed on what happened and if you do call, what information they were already provided.

If you don't mind my asking and I hope you do not take offense, but would you mind sharing with us what question were asked during the interview? Take care and best of luck to you!

Well the American Citizen is not allowed inside, so you will have to wait across the street. My husband said the officer and the security are rude, which makes it more difficulet when you are already nervous. They first ask for your documents required and you 2x2 photos and your medical report. Then you will sit down and they will call you up to the window to start the interview. The man will ask how you met, about your co-sponsor(if you have one),he will ask for a few picutres, and letters ( to prove a relationship). With the letters make sure you have both letters sent and replied.

They will ask about both of your jobs, and what you plan to do in the US, and what your current job is in Turkey, How you learn to speak english (if you do), or if the american knows turkish (how), and make sure you have the most current tax years. I did not and we sent it to the Embassy the day after the interview via UPS. So now we are just wondering how long it will take them to send us our visa. They did not say we had to come back for a second interview. THey only said to send the stuff via UPS back to the embassy with your passport and they will stamp it and send it back to us.

Usually if your interview will go ok, you will get your visa within 3-4 business days after the interview. Don't buy plane tickets or make any travel plans incase something does go wrong. They usually find something wrong, and send you away. Make sure both of you know about eachother's lifes and family's.

I will let you know when we get the Visa.

(p.s- You don't need so many pictures and evidence. We were told we would, and then we did notneed anything besides 5 pictures and some letters. The officers are completely rude which makes for a horrible interview, and makes you more nervous. They could beinside for 2 hours or more... )

  2. We had our interview today and there was a problem.. so we did not get the visa today because they could not find my 2010 1040 and w2. So we called the IRS had them faxed and sent it back the the embassy via UPS same day. I hope we will be getting our visa in the mail still next week. Does any one know how long it will take?

    Thank you,

    Nikki and AKin ATA

  3. I have an interviewe date at the ANkara embassy for my husband and i was wondering if we had to send an email ahead of time so that i was allowed inside with him. I read some reviews where they are not alllowed in and others that they are , or with a notification. Does anyone know?

  4. We are getting ready to file our I-864 co-sponsor forms. It has been a LONG and Hard portion of the paperwork with a lot of let downs. Now we have a co-sponsor. A family friend and her husband. Their income combined with 2 kids is $38,000 and the requirement including My husband is $35,000. they are $3,000 over the threshold. Due to so many let downs i am nervous that the NVC will deny the forms. :S Is this possible?

    Thanks,

    Nikki and Akin ATA

  5. You need to meet the income requirement by the time your husband has his interview at the consulate. You might be able to get approved if you can demonstrate that you recently completed training for a new [better] job and have secured employment in the field of your recent training.

It will be many months until his interview so you have time to get the new job and show several months of income in your new line of work.

Thank you.. I will try to do this and i hope it work.. I was told he will not be scheduled his interview until the co-sponsor paperwork is sent in. Is that true?

    Thanks!

  6. You say that you can't start work until Feb 2011.

Have you worked previously and once you are working will you be above the sponsorship requirement?

I am a Medical Assistant student and I finish in February. Meanwhile I am just working part imte a few hours a week at bath and body works. But i am having alot of trouble finding a co-sponsor. ALOT. Once i start working i will be making well over the poverty line. Unfortunetly, i do not have much more of an option. The only other person i have does not have previous tax years. BUT his company he works for might be able to give him a job and can show that he will ahve the job as soon as he enters the USA.

  7. Hi,

I was wondering if someone could sponsor themselves to the USA on a CR-1 visa. I can not start work until frbruary so i can not sponsor my husband to get here. If he shows that he will have a job when he gets here that is about 125% poverty line guidelines, is he able to "co-sponsor" himself?

I might have a company or two willing to do so. But because it is a family visa the company can't bea co-sponsor it has to be an individual.

    Thanks!

  9. Hi!

I have this co-sponsor, but he might not be able to get his taxes unless they were automatically filed in US Virgin Islands. He is making good money now. Will we still get denied the co-sponsor even he is making a good amount of money ( above 125% poverty line)?

and about how long after you submit the paperwork will it take for an interview date?

    Thanks!

  10. he needs at least one tax year prior to sponsoring you.they will ask you to bring in two years before that's just to see how stable the co sponsor's income is.

the co sponsor has got to be a USC.

Thanks! My step mother also tried but didn't qualify. She claimed my father and her two sons 12, 18 as dependents because she claims them all on her taxes. Does she have to claim the 18 year old son as a dependent just because she claims him on her taxes? Also, can she add in my fathers income and the income of the 18 year old son? My fathers taxes were filed with hers, as she claimed him.

    Please if you could help.

    Thank you

  11. Hi, here is a little overview of my husband and my case.

Married on February 26, 2010 Ankara, Turkey

    Sent I-130 August 8, 2010

    NAO1 received August 17, 2010

    Case Approved on September 14,2010

Bill to pay for Visa received on November 3, 2010

I am currently a student enrolled full time in school and am not making enough money to support my husband to come over here on my own.I finish school on February 5, and then can get a job as a Registered Medical Assistant (about $27,00-30,000/year). Sadly, I live with my grandmother who is on SSI Disabilty, and there for can not be a CO- Sponsor. My mother is out of work due to a broken back and is on disability as well. My Co- Sponsor is my mother's finance, whom is from the Virgin Islands (British Side). He currently owns a Business in the US Virgin Islands, but was not required to file taxes. In 2009 he was inside the US but not working. So there for he has no 2007, 2008, OR 2009 taxes.

He is currently making enough money to be a co- sponsor, and has pay stubs to prove it.

Can he be a co-Sponsor still with no previous tax years? He can prove he is an LPR LEGALLY and can prove his income. My lawyer told me that the NVC doesn't care so much about previous tax years and looks at what he is making now, but then said he NEEDS his previous taxes which he does not have.

HE IS MY ONLY HOPE OF A CO-SPONSOR.

Please if anyone could help me. I just want my HUSBAND :crying:
