    So just an update. We got an expedited appt for July 6th (due to my dad's illness). The interview was easy. But it took almost two weeks to get the visa. Immigration took 5 hours at POE and he made it here July 23rd after spending the night in Miami.

      Dad is doing well for now - we'll keep praying. We went to visit my parents and Franklyn hit it off with my dad! It was great to see.

    I know I just started... but I can't help but start to think about the second part of the process. How does your Fiance(e) go about getting their dcouments in the DR for the interview?? (packet 4 i guess)

      He can get his birth certificate (in extensa long form) in Santiago now.

      I just called NVC a few minutes ago. They said a package was sent out today. I should also tell you that I had a congressional letter sent to the consulate, but I don't know if that made a difference. The letter was due to the fact that my dad has a very difficult form of cancer. But the woman at the congressman's office said that even when family is ill, they usually decline expedites at the consulate.

      I've been working on reorganizing mine. It's improving but there's still not a lot of room for his clothes. I need to give up more old tee shirts to rags and make another trip to Goodwill I think.

    Hey! To all the other DR K1'ers with similar timelines, what are the first few numbers of your NVC #? Mine is 2011609.xxx. I'm wondering if the 2011 signifies the type of visa (rather than the year). Looking at the June appointment list, it looks like things are somewhat chronological.

      I was on hold for 30 minutes yesterday late afternoon, but had to hang up 'cause I had stuff to do. haven't tried yet today.

    So i called the consulado and was advised interview dates will not be assigned till the first week of june. Still praying for a july interview! Some news is better then no news

    So I call VS today....after waiting like 20 min...they verify me and go on to say your case is under administrative processing....I was like, no look again, it’s at the consulate, she goes yes it is, it is awaiting to receive interview date....talk about incompetence, that you can’t even accurately read what the screen, says.....que dios me libre...happy week VJ family :)

    Petition Arrived to DR... now waiting for interview, relief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I rather it be in DR then in the states......Que Dios lo de a todos un cita PRONTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Stay blessed VJ Familia!!!!

      Congrats! I think I'm in the same boat. Was stuck in AP for 3 weeks and told yesterday that it had been sent to the DR. Hope we find out about appts soon!
