  1. I have received an email yesterday (a check list) from NVC in which they were saying that they have received and reviewed my AOS package but are still waiting for my IV package (visa application and civil documents) although I had already sent them the IV package via certified express mail several days ago. According to USPS tracking system they had received it and signed for it 10 days ago. I called NVC this morning and they said it is normal for that to happen and the IV package must be in the building but not processed yet. I am a little nervous about the possibility that it might have gotten lost somewhere after delivery. Is it normal to stay for 10 days in the building without being logged in any way to their system? Any ideas?

    Thanks!

That's what happened to me too, the woman I talked to on the phone said that it takes up to 20 days for the mail to be processed so I wouldn't worry too much about it :)

  2. I am waiting to pay the IV bill, and am ready to send of the DS230. Shortcut is very helpful!

Do you happen to know typically how long after NVC approves the visa, when the interview is scheduled? I took a look at the stats for India, for CR1, and its like 3 months!?

I'm not sure for India, but the interview is scheduled so that there's time for NVC to mail your spouses information to the embassy where they will interview him, and also time for him/her to do their medical. I know some people who have gotten their interview scheduled 2,3 weeks after they finished all the paperwork. We're still waiting on ours to see when it's scheduled, I'll post back here to let you know how long it takes :)

  3. i'm going to use a co-sponsor will it require 3 years tax returns? or just 1? thats good news if they only need 1 though. . .

Krisca I used a co sponsor, since I'm a full time student and have no income, but I sent in the sponsors 3 year tax returns. Like I said, 1 year is required but I sent 3 just in case they question something. If you have no income than the co-sponsor has to earn more than 18,310, but if you do, then they count your income and the co-sponsors and it still has to amount to more than 18,310. Those are the guidelines and that's how much money is needed to support 3 people. The 3 ppl would be you, your spouse and the cosponsor.

  4. Hi,

Can some tell me what would happen now, Do i need to wait for more documents,

What is the next step, i have not filed my tax returns yet, can i send i-864 with previous 2009 tax return?

If you just received your approval from USCIS, you need to wait for NVC to send you a letter or email telling you they have received your case and sending you information on paying the first fee of 88.00 $. I'd suggest calling the NVC and registering your email with them so you don't have to wait on letters by mail, also ask them if they have received your case and ask for your NVC number. When I received my approval it took NVC 10 days to notify me that they have received my case. :) After you pay 88.00 then you send your DS-3032 ( agent of choice), and you can do that by email, when I called them to ask if it's okay to send by email they said that that's how they usually receive those forms. As for your I864, that also comes after you pay the 88$ , and they only ask for 1 year of tax returns, not 3 like they used to. I sent my 2010, 2009 and 2008 just in case. If you haven't done your taxes yet, you just send the 2009, or if you want 3 years then 2009, 2008,2007 :)..Hope that helps...

BTW for NVC processing follow this shortcut,

if you do everything step by step on this then you'll get done faster :)

  5. question : i have already been approved, is the processing from the NVC - USE gonna take the same time as the USCIS? how long is the whole process? till this journey ends . . .

krisca the whole process at nvc should be about a month long, even sooner if you have all the paperwork ready and follow the lingche nvc shortcut

    http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut,,,

I got my first notice from NVC on feb 23 telling us that our case has been received, and 3 days ago (march 9) i sent the last batch of papers, now we're waiting for the email telling us when the interview is going to be...so it's been 2 weeks and 3 days since we got the first notice and till now (waiting for interview) as you can see it's much shorter than a month :) I highly suggest following the NVC shortcut to get it done ASAP. :)

  6. krisca have you tried sending an e-mail to TSC. This is what I sent to them a week ago and they replied within 3 days. The person that replied told me that my case was in final review and a week later I get an approval. ..this is what I wrote to them....

    Hello,

I am writing this e-mail in order to obtain any information I can about a case a filed with the USCIS for my husband. The case was filed in August, it was transferred from the California Service Center to TSC. I received a notice on November 24th telling me that my case has been returned from NVC for review. When I received the notice I called USCIS to ask what the reason could be for the transfer. I was told that my case has been approved but returned from the NVC. I wondered if that was actually the case, because I didnt receive any notice telling me that my case was approved, which is usually what they do when they approve your case. I know there is a 180 days waiting period, but some other August filers have also received the same message on November 24th and are now waiting like me to see what is going on with their case, this is making me wonder and question if this is all an error on behalf of TSC. I do hope that by sending this e-mail you will be able to give me information about my case other than what I already know.

You should include your case number, case type and the petitioner name..also put in the subject line "case follow up".

    Hope this helps...

    tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov thats their e'mail address..

  7. Hi guys, just wanted to let you know that I e-mailed TSC at this e-mail address tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov i wrote to tell them about my situation asking them to give me any info.. also telling them that there are numerous other cases with the same problem. I sent the email about 3 days ago and today I got a reply ..this is what it said

    Hello,

Your I-130 petition is pending, awaiting final review. Please be assured that we are working proficiently, as we are expeditiously on each case.

    Thank you,

    Officer Carole

so apparently its awaiting the final review which I hope is a good thing and am hoping to get something in february if thats the case..anyone else got any info..if not I suggest writing to the same email address..good luck !

  8. Soystar and Evoamack: It wasn't sent to the NVC. TSC keyed in the wrong codes and therefore the wrong messages. It still and is and has been at TSC since it was sent to them by CSC. More govnmnt bungling at our detriment.

how do you know this? did they tell you when you called or are you just taking a guess? And if it wasnt sent to the NVC why would they sent us messages saying it was returned from NVC for review? When I talked to the rep he said I was approved and then forwarded to NVC but they sent it back on thw 29th. If Im understanding you right, youre saying that cases got messed up on the transfer to TSC?

  9. i think your case is a little different than ours coz u already got the NOA2 and we haven't got ours. . .i think u should call USCIS and ask about your case. . .maybe they found something wrong with your case. . .but other than that i wish all of us gets good news by January as the 5th month draws near. . .i hope all of us who got the same email will stay in touch. . .Advance Merry cHristmas to all!!

I hope we get something by Jan too. You're mentioning the 5 months deadline of when you can expect your case to be done. Well when I called the USCIS, the agent told me that 5 months doesn't count anymore, a new waiting period of 120 days started since we all received the notice of review. This is exactly what he told me "The 5 months goal to complete a case is already done, we accomplished the 5 months deadline because we completed the case and sent it to NVC for further action. Since the NVC returned the case for review, there is no longer a 5 months period, now the wait starts again and the period of waiting for a review is up to 120 days."..That's 4 months, so if we got our notice by end of November I'd say by March we have to receive something. It's frustrating knowing that the reason all these cases are back in review is probably the USCIS's fault, and we're suffering as the result of it. Hope all gets well soon.....:) Enjoy your holidays everyone !!!

  10. I am also filing for my husband who is also in Bosnia. I recieved the same notice. I tried calling USCIS and they told me the same thing. I don't see any reason why it would get returned and noone can give me an answer either. So I guess we are in the same situation. I filed August 18 2010.

Oh that's great, are you from Bosnia?..Yea I don't see any reason why they would send mine back either, we've been married 3 years now and I've lived with him in Bosnia for a year. I don't think that they can suspect fraud, cause it's definitely not, it probably has something to do with the paperwork and with USCIS. I'll def post back when and if I receive anything, and I have a strange feeling that we might all get a notice by end of December. Cross our fingers !!! :)

  11. Hi,

my wife has filed I-130 for her mother. it happens to her too. at beginning of Nov. case transfered from CSC to TSC. and now we received the same message: on Nov..., a USCIS office received this case from the State Department with a request that we review it.

we don't know what does it means? only thing in my mother-in-law case is that she visited US many years ago and we mention it in here I-130 application. we think that USCIS may want to check her old visa. what else??

if anybody get more info, please share it here.

I'm not sure either, I don't know what the reason could be, I'm hoping it's because the USCIS messed up something and NVC is returning the case in order for them to fix it. IDK ...but I really hope someone could tell me if they had a review like this, and how long did it take?..

  12. Hi, I filed my case I 130 for my husband on August 06, 2010. I am a US citizen.

Received a notice in beginning of November that the case was being transfered from California Service Center to Texas Service center in order to speed up processing. Today, nov 24 I received another notice stating...

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On November 24, 2010, a USCIS office received this case from the State Department with a request that we review it. We will notify you when we complete our review, or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

I called up USCIS, and the person I talked to told me that I need to wait 120 days for the review, and then call again.

He also told me that my case has been approved and that it was sent to NVC but they sent it back for further review. We've been married for 3 years, and it's going to be 9 months in December since we've been apart.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so , how long did you wait for the review? And what was the outcome ?

  13. It is fine. I lived with my wife for exactly 10 days also. I got my approval without any problem.

You should include the day also. Rather than 09/2010 to 09/2010, fill out 01/09/2010 to 10/09/2010. This doesn't leave any room for interpretation. And that's exactly how I did mine.

Hi, looking at your processing dates I see that you requested senator's inquiry 29-SEP-2010

and 2 days after you were approved. Right now I'm waiting for approval I petitioned for a I 130 for my husband

back in August 2010, I'm getting inpatient, just wondering what exactly is a senator's inquiry and do you think

that by requesting this it got your case approved faster?
