  1. Wow... we are still waiting... I am so anxious and still on the limbo without the GC... On May 15th we asked for a SR and they said that in 60 days we should have a decision or another notification... Is anybody else still going through this? It feels like all the August AOS filers are already with their situations solved. I have an EAD that is expiring in october, I hope to get a decision soon otherwise that's another thing to be worried about...

Sad :( and waiting some more...

My wife is still waiting... This is beyond lame.. We have a notice date of 8/20/2011.

Case transfer to CSC 9/16/11.. Nothing since.

I called on 6/22 and received a Status Check number. Was supposed to get something in the mail in 15 days. Nothing yet.

They must have the most relaxing job there. $1k and no service... Im done ranting.

  2. Hi you all. As you can see my case is on hold and waiting.Just called USCIS yesterday and got the same answer BLA,BLA,BLA.... and wait, cause 5 months doesn't mean it is delayed for them. CSC should mean no interview and faster processing times... well, wish i had an interview and be done with this waiting game.

Im in the same boat.. Seems majority of the transfers to CSC, from St. Paul/Minneapolis are taking longer.. I know someone from Madison WI send in theirs in october, and received approval in Dec... Not fair but like others have mentioned, its better than the k1 process, at least we're together thru this.

  3. I think I managed to goof up the time line. We tried to get my wife her soc. security card the other day, but the rep mentioned it is not possible anymore because we got married.

Quick background: She came over on an approved I-129 and POE was in Feb 11'.

I read somewhere that in order to get her soc. sec card, she needed her State ID and her I-94. So to get a state issued ID (MN), the only required doc we could get was a marriage license...

Now the social sec admin wants us to get the green card first (which im gathering the final docs), before we can get her social.

So with the circumstances above, are we pretty much done job hunting for her before we even began?

    Thanks for any insight.

  4. I have a friend that wants to start the K1 process. He wants to get engaged, but his girlfriend was recently in the States under a J1 visa.

    Under J1 requirements,

"Upon their departure from the USA, many J visa holders are required to complete a mandatory two-year home-country physical presence prior to reentry to the United States under dual-intent visas, such as H1-B." -got this from Wiki

Has anyone been in a situation like this? Are there any ways to lift this requirement (besides proving hardship, persecution, as mentioned on wiki)? Or is he going to have to just wait it out?

    Any insights appreciated.

  5. Congrats!

My NOA2 was dated 12/16, and my fiancee just got the call to pick up the packet today. So almost a month? Yeah, more waiting unfortunately..

    Good luck!

If you need anything, let me know while it's still fresh in my head. I know I still got the offical PDF from the US Embassy that one of the members on here sent me.

    shin

Could you email me this form? I sent the embassy an email but im not too confident.. They never replied to any emails i've sent yet.

  6. Finally feel things moving now. My Fiancee received the call to go pickup Packet 3.

I have everything put together and going to send to her (I-134 and required forms, evidence of a relationship, etc..), but I am not so sure about the DS Form 156, DS 156k, DS230..

Do these forms need to be prepared before/brought to the interview? Or are they meant to be brought after an approval, before visa issuance?

  7. Hi,

Not sure where to post this, so thought Id try here.

I have a coworker that will be visiting Costa Rica later in January, and was wondering if anyone knew someone, preferably a lady :), that could meet up and show him around.

Im not even sure if its appropriate to post this on the site, but everyone here seems nice and helpful. Just trying to help him out.

I took a trip to Laos earlier this year and got engaged to my fiancee, that's when he decided to take this trip. I know people in Laos, but he prefers to go to Latin America, because he knows a little Spanish.

If anyone can help, that would be appreciated. Could pm me if you'd like.

He will be in the San Jose area.

    Thanks!

  8. So I am currently gathering info for my fiancee and her interview. I sent in the I-134 with the I-129F petition back in July, and am wondering if I should resend one.

If all goes well with the packet handling, the I-134 i already sent will be close to a year old. Should I just be regathering this info instead of waiting for packet instructions?

What I originally sent in with the I134:

-Bank Statement with length of account/current balance

    -Last 3 years Tax transcript

    -Employment verification letter

If anyone did it this way could chime in, that would be great!
