  1. hello everyone,

my sister and her fiance' are working on her k1 application but my sister has a daughter that she wanna bring to US with her. can somebody help me what is K2 requirements or what are the requirements so she can bring her daughter? appreciate it.

    thanks a lot!

IF the child is unmarried and under age 21....

List the child and ALL children under 21 and not married, on the I-129f. They do not need to submit a G-325a, only for the fiancee and petitioner.

At the time of the interview you will have the option of applying for a K-2 visa for all children under 21, not married, and listed on the petition. Quite simple, some duplicate fees and forms is all, really.

You list all children of any age on the I-129F. Only the ones under 21 are eligible for a visa.

thanks to everyone, but i have one more question, DO THEY NEED TO PAY APPLICATION FEE FOR K2? Is there additional expense other than planeticket? :D

    appreciate it!

Yes each visa applicant pays a visa fee. Depending on age, they'll need a medical too.

    ah ok, thanks!

appreciate all the infos i received. God bless for everyone.

  2. hello everyone,

my sister and her fiance' are working on her k1 application but my sister has a daughter that she wanna bring to US with her. can somebody help me what is K2 requirements or what are the requirements so she can bring her daughter? appreciate it.

    thanks a lot!

For right now all she needs to do is include her daughter on the I129f and g325a in the appropriate spots. Later on when it gets to the consulate she will need to provide proof of full custody or consent from the childs father (maybe more depending on their country). All of that will be made clear when they get packet 3. For now they just need to write her name down in the appropriate spots on the petition.

    Good luck!

thanks for the quick reply. she did write her daughter's name in I-129F but in G-325a there is no portion there about her daughter. does she need to fill up separate G325a for her daughter?

  3. hello everyone.

my friend is asking if anybody knows any translator for her husband's police clearance. her husband needs it to apply Green Card and yet when he got his police clearance, it is not translated to english. Anybody can help? thanks a lot.

Just for clarification - what purpose does the police certificate serve for AOS? (Usually that's done at the visa stage.)

ooopppss, i might not be in the right sub-forum but my friend is applying for Green Card. He met his wife here in US and they got married here. I can't remember the exact VISA he is holding now but it will expire next year ( he has that VISA for almost 10yrs now).

  4. I appreciate your reply but I read that there USCIS Document Translation Policy saying

"Per the USCIS, documents not in English must be translated. The policy states as follows:

"All documents that are in a language other than English must be submitted with a translation. The person translating the document must certify that the translation is complete and accurate and that he/she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English."

    Please help. Thanks!

  5. im sorry to hear and we know exactly the feelings. anyway, the only thing that came to my mind after reading your post was if she was asked about taking illegal drugs? I am not saying she is but maybe she misunderstood the question and answered it wrong. having incomplete requirements, I dont think she will be denied coz usually when you have incomplete requirements, they usually put you in AR only though it will take a month or so. if i were u, i will ask her what questions were asked so that you would have atleast idea why denied.

im sure some of the people in the forum know somebody to help you reapplying K1.

  6. a friend of mine got RFE saying need to provide police clearance/certificate from the places he stayed or live in. he is from el salvador then he stayed in Nebraska and California and now he is in Michigan with his wife. question is does he need to get police clearance from Nebraska and California? If so, does anybody knows what exactly needs to do? Appreciate your help.

    Thanks!

  7. i have the same notation in my ss card but i never had problem. i was never asked to provide my ss card. dont it say in the card that you are not supposed to carry it with you neither use it as identification? it dont make sense changing it if nobody is asking for it. the important is that you have SS# to provide if your emoloyer will ask you. IF in case, ask why you have notation then show the supporting documents and if they wont accept, that is S****D! the NOA and green card from the immigration should be enough.

for me, i will not worry for that ss card.

  8. How are you late in filling???? looking at your timeline you were approved sometime in April 2006, so your 2 year greencard will expire in april 2008, the earliest you can file is 90 days before the expiry date....

So you are not late in filing....

    Kez

Thanks Kezzie. The expiration date is 4/10/08 so we should have mailed it yesterday 1/10/08. Hopefully we'll mail it Monday the 14th. I didn't know if we'll get in trouble with USCIS.

I was also asking for another couple who card expires 3/22/08. They haven't sent their application in yet. She thinks it's okay long as it's before the 90 days expiration date.

Your friend is 100% right..... you can file anywhere between the 90th day and the day of experation.... I would not leave it until the last day but anywhere in between is ok.... you have plenty of time to file....

    Kez

Don't worry too much coz the form says DURING YOUR 90 days before the expiration of greencard. My 90 days started last Dec 31 and yet I submitted mine last Jan 28 only, yesterday I received letter saying its extended for 1 year. So I don't think its a big deal for as long as by the time they will receive your I-751 is not later than your expiration date  I believe they will understand expecially the fees went up

  9. Hi... I went to Target today to buy a notebook or a binder to put the evidence in there. I couldn't really find anything that is flexible enough. I ended up getting a 1/2 inch three ring binder.. Is this okay? I read somewhere that it has be small enough so it can go through the window when we get to the embassy.. Or does anyone have any idea where I should buy one? I tried going to Office Depot didn't find anything... Please let me know

    Thank you everyone.

Dont make it hard for you and to the CO. just make sure that you know where to get ANY documents that the CO might ask you to show. When I had my interview, I labeled and colored coded the folders so its easier for me to pull out the files. Yes, I agree to separate the original and photocopies. Make a folder for photocopies only.
