  1. Does anyone know about the option of paying for your the $350 USD processing fee over the phone? My fiance has his medical exam completed he went this afternoon to pay at banamex bank by the consulate and they gave him a website he had to go too. The system was evidently down today, the bank told him later that it was a new system they had just started yesterday to pay for visa processing. I went to the website tonight and it gives you an option of paying by credit card over the phone. If I call and pay this with my credit card is that possible? what can we do? we really want him to get this started tomorrow morning. He has an open appt. between 8-10. Banamex told him to go to the consulate and tell them the problem with the site, they were closed this afternoon by the time he had this problem. I can not get through at ANY of the phone numbers provided on the consulates webpage. I am completely confused about this supposed new system of paying? does anyone know anything about it?

  2. So I am seeing 2 different prices for the medical exam and we really need to know which is correct. One paper we have says that the exam is $165 and then $135 for under 15 years of age. Another says that the exam is $135 and then $55 for under 15 years of age. Anyone been there recently and know the right answer? My fiance is planning on going Monday morning (that is in 7 hours)!!

  3. Just a bit of encouragement for people who are really worried right now. I sent in our application on Aug. 6th, eceived NOA1 with receipt date of Aug. 12th. Received NOA2, our application was approved about 2 maybe 3 weeks ago. I don't know how we got through so quickly except a whole lot of prayers but it was less than 3 months from the date I dropped it in the mail to the date that I received the approval. Keep praying and being hopeful and it will happen eventually.

  4. I received a letter from the NVC dated Nov. 8th 2010 stating that within the week our application would be forwarded to Ciudad Juarez . It also said my fiance would soon be receiving a packet of information containing further instructions. A couple questions:

First, I visited the consulates website ( http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html ) and checked out the K-1 and K-3 visa application forms. It is my understanding that because we filed a I-129 and it has been approved and we are applying for a K-1 FIANCE visa, as soon as we have obtained all of the information and material that they request in the packet he can go to the consulate at any time M-F between 8 and 10 AM for his interview. That only K-3 applicants get an actual appointment time set up. Am I understanding this right? Any info or advice of stuff we should be getting together and ready right now would be helpful.

Second, how long should we expect to have to wait before we receive this packet? Am I way being to hopeful by thinking he could have his interview by the end of the year?

  5. Ok so I have not recieved my NOA2 yet but I did recieve a call on Friday that our application had been approved and was being sent to the NVC and that we should be getting notice in the mail soon. I'm kicking myself for not noticing this before but just last night I realized that it has a Mexican Passport listed as a required document at his Visa interview. I'm afraid now that we may end up getting his interview scheduled before we can get his Mexican Passport in.

Can anyone tell me about what he needs to do tomorrow to get this process started. He returned to Mexico July 6th after being in the US for years illegally. He went to the city he was born in and got his birth certificate and he has gotten his drivers license. What else will he need? Where does he have to go? How much does it cost? How long will this take? Anything would help at this point.
