I am filing for a Filipina and I am amazed at all that goes into getting a spouse to the States. My experience so far has been pleasant. Hope someone reads this and can benefit from the encouraging news of my quick response.

My husband is a disabled vet too, he doesnt filer taxes, someone here told us that we should send the SSDI AND VA award letters to prove income which is well above the 125% poverty level and as Beth and Chard pointed out bring the IRS regulations just in case the consular officer doesnt know the regulations haha. plus write a letter when u send ur affidavit of support saying why you dont file taxes. we on the same process with NVC rigth now. good luck

you still file taxes right? You would show your return or evidence that proves that you do not have to file taxes.

Who do I get to verify I do not have to file taxes?

I have tax records for 08. I am now back filing for 09 and filing for 10. I do have a generated letter from the VA stating my condition and my monthly income.

I am a disabled vet and have no tax records. What do I need to show income besides bank statements.
