  1. Thanks for the replies everyone! I was just concerned because of this October 11th deadline, but it seems since I have gotten married in the 90 day period it should be ok if I had to wait for a document.

However as one of you pointed out I may not need to wait. I will go back to probate court very soon and try and get a certified copy instead of waiting for one in the mail. Thanks again for the replies and the well wishes!

    PS.

Sorry for the weird subject line. I have gotten the K1 visa already! :P

  2. First off I'm sorry if this has been answered before as searching for the terms together yielded conflicting answers sometimes!

Simply put, My fiancee arrived in the US in mid July. We had to get married before October 11th. We got a social security number later August because even waiting 14 days he record was not on file! Then we got the marriage certificate on September 13th. We officially were married on September 24th and officially returned the marriage license to probate court today September 27th. I have also been told by ssa we need a certified copy to change her name on her ss card. However considering it will take yet another few weeks to be able to receive a certified copy I was wondering what someone here would do in my situation!

File the AOS with a copy of the license in her current name and just send a certified copy if an RFE comes in?

  3. Thank you for that information. I really appreciate the help. I'm using a co-sponsor for the embassy just in case because I don't have a full three years of tax returns because of college. However when I apply for the I-184 I feel much more conformable doing it only by myself. I clearly make over the 125 percent poverty line and all that, but I wanted to be careful with the embassy and not risk anything. Thanks again.

  4. Hey all.

Recently got our NOA2 dated 4/19/11 and I'm currently preparing to send some more information over to China to better prepare her for the next steps. In regards to the I-134 I wanted to make sure I submit everything correctly!

I graduated from college recently in May 2009 and with scholarships I was able to focus on school without employment because of this. After college I got a job in which I was promoted twice. (May 2010 and February 2011) Therefore I don't have 3 years of tax returns and my 2010 tax return shows a lower income amount than my current promotion. So basically my I-134 will report my most recent income level from the Feb 2011 promotion. If I include my last year tax return and some recent pay stubs, and a note describing the promotion do you think this will be an issue? Thank you!
