  1. where was the child born? If in the USA you can use the express service which will take less than 2 weeks.

If born in Jamaica he will have to report the birth at the embassy there. The amount of time it takes will depend on if they ask for DNA test because they do that sometimes.

without going the DNA route I think it is about 3 months.

Hope someone who did it recently can tell you about it as well.

For Jamaica, to do the consular report of birth abroad and get passport it 8 weeks, I spoke to the Consular Officer last month

  2. She can call On-Time Taxi service to take her from the airport to the knutsford terminal the # is 876-968-4780/876-929-1742

and take the knutsford to ocho rios all for under $5000.00. go online to find the kntsford and make a reservation.

If I hadn' been going to the states for over 20yrs as a visitor I would swear it was paradise based on how some o you describe Jamaica. Love , Love my country, everywhere is good and bad

  4. Its very much upto the IO at the time whether you are admitted or not, just take as much proof of ties to your own country, but it is still ok to travel.

I travelled just after our I-130 was approved and took a copy of the NOA and interview date at the embassy, was never asked questions about the application, just how long I was going for, why, and where I was staying, each case is different

I have travelled three times since my NOA2 (twice since case completed at NVC no issues whatsoever, I didn't bring any of that stuff so go for it!

  5. Folks, these things are out of our control I am on VJ once or twice a week because between work and school and my daughter I cannot afford to be on VJ constantly but everytime I look at the predictions we go through this everytime a bulletin is to be published let us wait and see.I thought I would have been finished with this process but immigration is unpredictable let us be hopeful!

  6. Hello,

It may be a silly question, but I get really confused of the visa bulletin. Hoping that someone can help me with my question.

For example, any posts here mention that F2A category takes 4-5 years. However, as I look at March 2012 visa bulletin, F2A petition with PD of JUL22 2009 is currently processed. Here comes my question. Shouldn't the wait time of F2A be 2.5 years in this case? Why do the other think 4-5 years?????

    Thanks a million.

I t was 4-5 years but it got a little better

  7. Thanks very much for all the information, but when my mom filed the I-130 in October 18 2010 it only took 3 months because she got an approved e-mail in February 9 2011 and the NVC got everything and we paid all fees and got approved by the NVC in August 5 2011. They told her she might not have to wait another year, but they might be lying to me anyways thanks again

She could possibly be here by the end of the year I am F2A from Jamaica and I have received the fee bills from NVC so we could see some advancement in the Priority dates close to year end just keep watching the visa bulletin. My prority date is October 12, 2010
  8. The steps of getting a spousal visa for a greencard holder and a US citizen are essentially the same, except the greencard holder has a priority date (ie longer wait). So check out the guides here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/guides

They do often send the papers a couple of months in advance, as they expect it to take a while to get everything back, but over a year in advance is unusual.

Its not unusual, there is a threaad here October to December filers, F2A cases that are being processed by NVC. my priority date is October 12, 2010 and I have gotten DS 3032, AOS AND IV fee bills which I have paid this past week so its not unusual at all.
