  1. I'm frustrated right now because i called uscis last april and told them that i had my bio last feb 24 and my status haven't change at all (seems like I'm left behind too) then they told me to call after 90days of bio. I thought that they will do something after 90days and today i called, they ask what is my local office which is Newark (anyone from Newark?) and said I'm still in a normal processing timeline. I'm disappointed because they should have told me to call after 5moths, I expected too much. It's my fault too I think I read this kind of situation here but did not pay much attention. I wanna cry because I can't have my vacay since feb and I'm already exhausted from work.

  2. hi, i found the option to sign up for electronic notification just now while browsing and i saw that i can file for it online. i did not see the form to be filled up before i send the n400 packet. you think it's ok if i sign up now while i'm in the middle of the process (done with my fp) and waiting for my case to be inline for interview. cause i'm so worried that i'm just waiting for the mail to come when some can receive an update through email or text. thanks.

  3. kung hei fat choi vj friends!

just wanna ask how will i know if USembassy in manila already received my papers from NVC? should i call them? or will they contact me 1st?

and could someone please show me a SAMPLE of CEMAR from NSO here?

    THANKS a LOT! :)

  4. hi friends! my hubby just called the nvc and he talked to a real person, we wanna confirmed if our lawyer really sent nvc's additional requirements for us, and they said they already received it, but did not yet start the processing.. it will take 3-6weeks from the day they received it before the processing and the processing itself will take a week before they'll send it to manila, im so excited and happy, we're hoping that everything will be ok now.. :)

  5. A Legal Permanent Resident or a Citizen can act as a sponsor. If your liquid assets are more than three times the amount of income needed for your household size, you can use assets instead of income. If not, you'll need a qualified joint sponsor, or no visa. I would have your husband go online and download the I-864 and I-864p and start studying the sponsorship requirements.

ok, i'll search for that, thanks a lot pushbrk! :)

  6. Sounds like the key issue for the two of you will be sponsorship. If your husband has no income, you'll need a joint sponsor who qualifies. All immigrant visas require a qualified sponsor.

really? i have no idea about sponsorship, is it required that a sponsor is also a USC? or a permanent resident in US is also allowed to be a sponsor as long as he/she has good income? what should be their relationship with us? you mean i can't pass the interview if my hubby doesn't have income, even if we have our savings? THANKS a lot!

  7. thanks guys! hmmm.. right we've been apart for less than 8 years and we're thinking that we grew apart for so long, thinking 'bout the money & 'bout the future.. NVC can't give us any reason why it is taking so long, so we're searching for some solution now to stay close yet not to waste that 8yrs being apart. yup i remember 'bout the balikbayan stamp-are you sure it's also allowed for USC i think it is better than 7-11k. money is not a big deal for us RIGHT NOW (but of course it's always important and wiser to consider everything), but we're not sure how much should we show them and HOW LONG will we wait for our interview.. THANKS A LOT!

  8. hi friends! just wanna ask if my UScitizen husband can stay in the philippines for a long period even if we're still waiting for NVC to close our case? we're worried 'bout he's income, isn't it there's a rule about that? what if he has no income because he'll stay with me here, but there's a SURE work waiting for him in U.S. because he will file for an indefinite leave on his job. we're talking 'bout what is the best thing to do 'coz right now we're really down 'coz we miss each other so much! we have no idea what wrong with our papers, we even have our lawyer but we have no idea if it's helping after a year at NVC alone! THANKS!

yup! i knew that it is allowed to accompany your partner during the interview.. but what if we will still have to wait for example 6months? it means that he doesn't have any income for that right coz he will stay with me here in the philippines.. so what should we do if that is the case? is there a specific amount that we should have in our bank? thanks!

  10. WHen you arrive you get a 21 day tourist visa stamp, If you travel to intramarous to the bearu of immigration you pay about 60 dollars and get a visa extension for 1 month. You can do this up to 6 months.

If you plan to retire here, you can file for a 13a visa, go to the same place get your extension and tell them you want to apply, they will help you , it takes about 30 days to find out if approved or not. Bring all the proof you can, , especially something showing income (not just your current funds)

If you and your wife enter the philippines together, or leave together to another country and return a day or so later, you can request a balikbayan stamp upon entry, show your marriage papers and request it. Its a 1 year stamp. After the 1 year its treated like a normal tourist visa unless you do it over again

really? is balikbayan stamp applicable if his wife is a filipino citizen? hmmm.. nice one! my hubby USC and i(filipina) usually leave the country during his vacation here.. and if ever my interview date is already set he will go with me but we're worried about the waiting time of visa arrival at home that it would take more than 21days in total.. that's very helpful.. THANKS adam&thet

  11. First off, did the lawyer really send it or did HE lose it. Secondly, why hadn't your lawyer followed up with NVC to find out what the hold-up was? You'd think that after 3 weeks or so of not hearing anything from NVC, the the lawyer or the petitioner would be on the phone with them to find out the status of the case. If you fiance had sent it in himself, maybe he could be sure that it was really sent in, but I wouldn't try a lawyer to care and do it right even if you paid him...oh, wait....you did pay him. Honestly, any lawyer worth his salt should have at least notified you that the paperwork was late from NVC and that followup was needed.

i think our lawyer really sent it 6months ago because he still has a secretary to double check it if all papers are complete before sending it to nvc (i dont think they're irresponsible to forget it), & the second time he sent it last february he did not ask for our details again-meaning he didn't lose our information-cause a lawyer can fill-up our paper anytime on our behalf. and he can get a copy of i-864 by himself alone if ever he's the one who really lost it-he shouldn't wait 4months just to send it again.. we hired a lawyer to make sure our papers will be filled up properly and to lessen some mistake.. of course we pay him.. but he's not informing us on whats happening in every step at 1st because he thought that's why we hired him-to let him handle everything.. but when he gave us wrong time frame i started to search here at VJ what are the steps. now im wondering on my nvc stage-is it 1st come 1st serve.. if that's the situation-now that they already received my form i-864 and 'still pending'.. when we asked them when will they review it, they said it depends on the amount of applicants but my question is im really worried why i was left behind.. can i asked them that directly? im worried too that they might think im disrespectful to ask that, but thats really a big question to me now.. :(

  12. yes thats right, but nvc lost our form i-864 from last 6months thats why we send it back this february, i think they should give us some credit for that delay-we're not the reason why it was lost but them..

our lawyer send all documents 6months ago and nvc only noticed that our form i-864 is missing this feb.. is that mean we have to wait 4months again before they review our papers.. that's so sad..

how common is it for NVC to lose documents? I'm super scared to send my original marriage certificate because it's the only one we have...- i have no idea too, that's why im sharing my experience for VJ members to know.. (do you really have to send the original marriage cert at nvc? that's too risky, is a copy not allowed? i dont know that too cause our lawyer is the one who send all papers and i can send him copy of original marriage cert anytime cause we can get as much copy as we want at NSO here in our country.)

  13. What you are saying isn't what your timeline shows. You only did your I-864 in February. How do you get that you are at NVC for 6 months? Maybe you were there and things were delayed getting to you (Follow lotos links for fast processing). Once NVC has all the documents they usually only take about 30 days to process but could be a bit longer.

yes thats right, but nvc lost our form i-864 from last 6months thats why we send it back this february, i think they should give us some credit for that delay-we're not the reason why it was lost but them..

  14. friends, i'm so frustrated now that we're stuck at nvc, my papers are pending for almost 6months already.. i'm almost left behind. when we're calling them they will say that it depends on the amount of applicant but we cant ask them "why those who applied before me were done already".. we have our attorney and it seems like all we can do is wait, cause he cant do something bout it according to him! how pathetic! to my vj friends-is there any way we can make them touch our papers please tell me? how long will it take before they send it to manila embassy? i miss my hubby so much.. :((

  15. well as i have read in the forms here, there always a common theme.......its better to be safe than sorry....so as for us..me and my wife...even throu she has most of those papers anyways...and compareing the cost..of about 3200.00 peso...she order a set of her cenomar, birth certificate, x 4...we have 4 copys of out NSO marriage certificate, and she just now got her new NBI police clearance, showing all her names on it.yes its good for a year, i read mostly they ask for a new one (if) all your names are not on it...but its really up to you and if you justifiy spending a little to be sure you dont lose a lot.....hope this helps you...

hmmm, you're right! i had my NBI 4months ago 'coz im sooo excited at that time, but NVC lost our form i-864 after waiting for 4months, then i assume my interview would be on april.. but i think i need new copies of all-to be safe.. THANKS!!! :)

  16. Could you please fill out your timeline so we can give you reasonable answers. We got a new NBI for submitting for the 230 going to NVC. Can't really give you much reassurance otherwise. As for the birth certificate, they may have asked for original or certified copies but I'm not sure that the Philippines has an expiration date on it. Some more experienced VJ'ers may shed better light on this. Best of luck!!!

    Bob

i already fill out my timeline, but i dont know why even if i save it, it cant be seen in my profile.. :D THANKS!!!

  17. friends, our birth certificate copy from NSO here in the Philippines doesn't have an expiration right? but i remember that i've read before here in VJ that one consul ask the applicant to send them a NEW copy during her interview-which makes her visa to be delivered late. i just cant find that forum again.. if its true, how did the consul find out that the copy is old enough? coz i'm confuse if i should ask for NEW copy where in i have lots of original copies with me now? please tell me if anyone here passed their old copy-how old was your paper?

and the NBI clearance, does anyone here passed that even if it's 6 month old, im really scared that even its expiration is 1 yr, they might ask me for a new one.. THANKS in advance!!! :)
