  1. Everyone, earlier today we saw the status in card production, and then later in the evening the status went to decision mode as below,,,,

On October 10, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

What does this mean? Is the I-485 approved and card mailed out or what....

Same thing happened with ours. Got another message this morning (2:00 a.m.) that the status was back in the card production stage.I'm going to presume this is standard procedure. Will look for GC within 30 days. Congrats to you!

  2. Try both. Go with whoever gets back to you faster. Your representatives should have websites with instructions on how to ask for help in immigration cases (for mine it was listed under "constituent services"). They will have a form that you fill out and sign to give them permission to contact USCIS on their behalf.

If they successfully request that USCIS pull your file, you should get action within a few days.

I have talked to the senator's office. They were told that our file was "with an officer." I will be calling my contact person at the senator's office in a few days or next week to follow up if we haven't heard anything. Thank you for your advice. I should have done it much earlier in the process. We'll see what happens now. Thanks again!

  3. October 31, 2011, our application to adjust status wasreceived at the proper lockbox. On November 19, 2011, a Notice of Action wassent to us that our petition was transferred to the California Service Center “inorder to speed up processing.” Biometrics was completed and we received theEAD/AP combo early January 2012. We have not received an RFE.

I checked processing times for CSC for the AOS. Am I notreading it right? Does it list AOS for FAMILY based requests? I only see forwork-based applications and it says March 2011.

Also, the EAD/AP combination is only valid until 12/31/2012.So, I’m guessing we need to apply for a renewal? If so, how early should thatbe done?

I’m starting to get a little panicky. Not sure what to donow. Any tips or suggestions?

    Thank you!

  4. Q 5 are you talking about on 156K? It says to write all children under 21 unmarried. If you are talking about this little box this means your birth certificate not the kids ones. It is just a reminder of what to include with the form.

You are so right! Under 21! Why was my brain skipping that little detail? Geez! I really feel silly now. Thank you so much!
