  2. Hi!!!

I am so sorry, I only saw your reply now.

Finally got my interview date: 12/21/2011. Hadrien is sad that the interview date is so far away, so I am going to try and re-schedule the date.

I don't know how easy that will be but I will give it a shot.

How did your interview go? Would love some info to calm Hadrien down. You know how those French are!! So nervous all the time.lol. I am half French as well, so I know.

Glad to hear they finally assigned your interview date! That is a bit far off, so I wish you the best of luck in rescheduling. Back in "my day" (a few months ago, haha) there were a few people from European embassies who succeeded in moving their interview dates up... I don't specifically know of any at the Paris embassy, but as you know there aren't too many French IR-1/CRI-1 filers.

I definitely understand you and your husband's nervousness, but I'll just reiterate what you probably already know about Paris... it's a cake walk in the grand scheme of embassy interviews. I'm sure you guys will be totally fine! You can read my embassy review at the bottom of my timeline page... it pretty much details my husband's whole interview experience. It was very smooth and easy, and the most stressful part was actually waiting for the visa to arrive in the mail (ours took slightly longer than average).

Anyway, best of luck and congratulations - you guys are almost done with this mess! It's nice to meet some fellow Frenchies smile.gif

  3. I don't know how helpful this is to you, but you can take a look at my information below. I think my timeframe is pretty typical for Paris... they seem to schedule about five weeks out. Are you trying to figure out when your interview date will get assigned or when your interview will likely take place?

  4. Living in Portland, I love being able to go to the Little League Softball World Series every year. One of my favorite teams to watch this year is Asia Pacific, represented by Muntinlupa Little League from the Philippines... they play with a lot of heart and have a hugely supportive fan base! They came out of pool play 3-1 and are now into the semifinals, playing (a very tough) Central team from Illinois. In case anyone is interesting in watching, the game is being broadcast live on ESPN 2 at 4pm Pacific / 7pm Eastern. Just thought I would throw that out there smile.gif

  5. Just wanted to update all of you on our case ...

the embassy called me to do a phone interview with me so he asked me about 10 questions and once satisfied that our relationship is real he told me that we have nothing to worry about..while technically he can't say we are approved he can say our case has nothing to worry about and now that my i 864 is accpeted and our relationship is genuine they will place my husband in the namechecks for the very last thing before issuing visa....

He said they don't do namechecks until evthing else is satisfied

of cos can't say how fast that will go but he did say that is the last step in our case!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sooooooo.... i guess we are technically approved pending ap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance:

Great news!!! Congratulations- you are long overdue for some much deserved celebration! I hope the remaining checks are over in a hurry. It must be a great relief to know that your documents were accepted and the rest is just business as usual smile.gif

My husband's civil documents were all in French and I didn't send English translations to the NVC. In my cover letter, I identified all the documents by their French title as well as what that meant in English. They are *supposed* to accept civil documents in either English or the language of the embassy that your visa will be issued through... this worked for me. However, a lot of people recommend that you send English translations just in case. Just letting you know that I left them all in French and it worked in my case, but that if you choose not to send translations you should clearly identify the documents in your cover letter. It might help to quote the exact language from the Documents the Applicant Must Send to the NVC website ("All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC"), pointing out that- obviously- French is the official language of France. Hope this helps.

  7. Our ticket was issued at 12:43pm, we were interviewed by 4:15, the guy went so quickly through the file, I asked him if he wanted to see the pli of pics I had brought, he said no. when I told him we gor married in Madison Al. then he said so you speak English, I said yes, he started speaking English and was amazed I could speak it fluently, that was the only time he had a weird look. He played jokes with my daugther while he was checking the documents, making her laugh, that was cute.

We had a sort of "expedite interview" that's why it's hard to believe it's done. Well I guess he was tired of asking the same questions all day long

If there was bad news, they would have told you at the interview. Taking your passport and saying you will get it back next week is good news smile.gif

It's no big deal that he didn't look at your photos, since in general they couldn't care less about additional relationship proof in Paris. The interviews do go fast there, so it's not out of the ordinary that it seemed rushed. It sounds like everything went just fine to me, but having been in your place I know you won't feel total relief until the visa is in hand! It will all be over soon!

  8. The CO looked at the file asked a few questions, made me sign and swear Iwas telling the truth, then he said " its ok, you'll receive the passports back withinh 1 week"

Do you think I'm approved? I mean he never said the word "approved"

That sounds like an approval to me, Lidia! They didn't say "approved" at my husband's either, but if they take your passport and don't give you anything requesting more documents or saying you're on AP, it's APPROVED! Congratulations!

  9. Looks like some updating is in order. Congrats on all the approvals and good luck to our June friends waiting on AP or working on waivers!

  11. My husband had his interview at the Paris embassy last Tuesday. The embassy printed the visa Friday (3 days), shipped it Monday (6 days), and he received it Wednesday (8 days). From my experience reading though almost all the French timelines, you should get your visa within 10 days of the interview. Since Monday is a holiday, I hope the embassy sends it before the week is over... good luck!

  12. *UPDATE* Congratulations to Norwood on the approval! Good luck to today's interviewees! As for me, visa in hand today!!! kicking.gif Which is definitely a good thing considering Jonas is flying home Saturday! Anyone from June POE-ed yet? I guess if you have, you probably aren't reading this thread anymore laughing.gif

  13. Congrats to the newest approvals....

WE submitted our new documents on monday june 20th...so i sent an email ysterday to verify the receipt of them. Hmmm they replied they haven't received any???? the courier service we used..the one the embassy told us to use and gave us a token for said it would be ther the very next day... UGH... so now i replied when we sent and that we have the receipt and would youlike me to send via email the scanned copies...

Why is this soooo hard????? im getting so frustrated cos i already feel like our case was picked on....we were easily above poverty line with great assets....but to for them to include another person that isnt included anyway...then having to prove it... iits so frustrating!!!!! im just so depressed :(

The whole thing is incredibly frustrating... you expect government workers to know what the hell they are doing, and it's disheartening when you find out that they make mistakes that have a huge effect on your case. I really sympathize with your situation right now- I had problems at the NVC with people not understanding their own regulations. Although I admit that yours is harder to deal with, since it's so close to the finish line sad.gif
