  1. VJers,

I listed my fiancés 9 yr. old son on our K1 application.

What documentation does my fiancé need from his ex-wife to bring their child to the US to live with him? She currently has full custody. Is a letter stating she (the mother) grants permission for the father to have full custody and to take the child to the United State to live with him enough documentation? Of course he would have her notarize the letter. Will this type of letter be enough for the embassy to approve his son to come with him to the US? Also, does the K1 application need to be mentioned on the letter? Thanks!

  2. Hey - checking in with the June group.

JlovesA, Ygr, Gap1 - ya'll get your tweets on! All of your approvals are on the horizon.

Relationships are always tested and this immigration process is a WHOPPER of a test!! It's testing your love, faith, endurance, and patience. We are all blessed to have found our significant others.

I will be visiting my love in the Bahamas on Nov. 22nd for one glorious week. Gotta keep home happy  - I know ya'll are feeling me on that!!! Counting the days!!!

  3. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!!! With all these approvals coming in I took a chance and checked our status online and found out we were approved yesterday 11/4/2010!!!

Ran to the mailbox to check - the hard copy did not arrive today - but there's tomorrow!!!!

06/16/2010 – Petition mailed to USCIS via certified return receipt

06/18/2010 - Petition received by CSC

    06/19/2010 – NOA1 issued

    06/24/2010 – NOA1 hardcopy received

    11/04/2010 - NOA2 approval!!!!

  4. have you tried getting ready for the wedding as far as things like deciding on cake, favors and wedding dress and things like that go?

Yes - do all your wedding prep now. Ours is all done. We are having a very small ceremony - less than 50 people. I have everything all set and in "hold" status until we can move forward - which starts with getting that damn elusive NOA2!!!

  5. Just got off the phone with USCIS. The representative told me that they are currently working on I-129F cases dated May 16, 2010. She said because they are behind, my case is still not technically over processing time. Because it is not over processing time, the system does not allow her to make a service request. She said to call back in 2 weeks if I have not heard anything.

    This is SO frustrating.

Say what??? Contact them in 2 more weeks if you have not heard anything - What the hell kind of response is that?!?!?!? They have lost their ever lovin minds up in CSC!!! Seriously, the USCIS site says 5 months for I-129F filings not 5 months plus 14 days!!!

They need to hire more staff to get these files out plain and simple. Supervisors, managers need to all be assisting the main processors to get this files moving. This wait is way too ridiculous!!!

  6. you know i think focusing more on getting ready for after second notice of action is helping me a LOT,im making check lists,im reading about What happens next, plus the embassy we filed with has an average waiting time of 3 months,i cant keep beating myself like this for say six more months

I feel ya on that Ygr!

A few months back when spoke with a rep at the Embassy in Nassau and he told me their side of process is that once an approval is uploaded into the system. They get notified electronically and then approx. 6 weeks later when they get the actual file that's when they start the processing K-1 on their side which could take 1+ months - AGHHHHHH!!!!

Given all this we pushed our wedding date out to early 2011.

  7. Our online case status still says "initial review". I beg to differ, since we have the hard copy of the approval in hand. Don't put too much faith in the online status thing.... you could get a very nice surprise one of these days, as we did.

This is good to know. They are probably so busy popping out NOA2's that they do not have time to update the online statuses. I pray that is the case. Now I know not to put too much weight on the online case status. Thanks. Good lookin out!

  8. I just got my NOA2 in the mail today! I was so sick of being disappointed by this and the USCIS site so I stopped checking for two weeks and I then I got it in the mail today. The strange thing is I never got an email even though I signed up for it. I signed in and it shows it was last updated October 15th. I'll provide more details when I get home to read it with my own eyes, but for now I just put the NOA2 for today on my timeline. Good luck everyone!

Congrats!!!! You are giving us hope!!! Keep them NOA2's a'comin CSC!!!

  9. Hey June filers!

I am new to VP and I am so happy I am not the only one out there frustrated with how long it is taking CSC to process K-1 applications.

My NOA1 was June 19th and have not heard a peep regarding my filing (not even a touch). When I filed I thought we could shoot for a December wedding - NOT!

Last month when spoke with a rep at the Embassy in Nassau and he told me their side of process is that once

an approval is uploaded into the system. They get notified electronically and then approx.

6 weeks after when they get the actual file and when they start the processing K-1 on their side - AGHHHHHH!!!!

Given all this we pushed our wedding date out to early 2011.

    This is soooooooo damn frustrating!!!!!!

I will keep you all posted.
