  1. Hi everyone. I just want to clarify something because my fiance and I have been arguing if we need to pay more with the visa fee and medical fee. He's insisting that he already paid the filing fee before thats why we dont need to pay for the visa and medical fee. But I've been reading and asking those who have went through the process and i was told that they paid more or less $250 for the medical and more or less $400 on the visa fee. I dont know who to believe. Please clarify...

  2. It is not possible that he file for a visa for your brother or mother

but you could file for them after becoming a permanent resident

check this section of Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/112-bringing-family-members-of-permanent-residents-to-america/

    Good Luck

You can't sponsor a brother-in-law nor can you sponsor a brother while you are a permanent resident. My understanding is that your only option is to wait until you're a citizen (eligible 3 years after immigrating assuming you are still married) and then sponsor him. There is something like a 10 year wait for siblings, so your child will probably not need a babysitter anymore by the time your brother could come over. I don't know if parents are faster - someone will know, though. Either way, it will be several years from now. Good luck.

That's right you can only bring children or spouse to the US if you were permanent resident.

you can't. you have to be blood related. once you become a USC you can file for your mother or sibling.

The OP is from the Philippians , where the wait for a sibling is a bit over 23 years and that would be after she gets to be a citizen which is at least 3 years away.

Thanks for all the replies. Now I know we shouldn't expect anymore. Thanks guys! I really appreciate! God bless!

  3. I have a question and I need your understanding about our situation. My fiance just filed my k1 visa and we're now waiting for NOA1 hard copy. We were talking about our future plans and he told me he's thinking of bringing my brother over after we're married. From what I've read you can only petition your siblings if you have the same mother or father but it is not possible for a USC to petition your brother-in-law. I'm just confused about this and I need your opinions. We discussed about this because we're planning to have a baby as soon as I get there and we're thinking of getting either my mom or my brother as baby sitter and he's planning to sponsor since he's the USC. This is just a plan and we're still asking around. I will appreciate any inputs. Thanks for reading.

  4. My finace filed October 29 2010 and we're now waiting for the confirmation message from them. I'm a very patient person but this one seems to be the longest wait I'll be having in my entire life and its starting to drive me crazy. LOL I constantly check my fiance's e-mail and always ask him if he gets the text message.. I think I need a chill pill. Anyway I'm glad it's filed and we're praying for the speedy journey but if not we dont have choice but to wait. :D Good luck to all of us! (L) (L) (L)

  5. Hey guys! I just want to ask if it's true that its's possible to speedup the process of your k1 if you submit all the requirements asked by the USCIS? I mean my fiance's friend hired a lawyer and his lawyer said that the process will speed up if you send all the requirements(k1 form, g-325, passport photos etc.) including certificate of no marriage, police clearance and NBI clearance in your initial filling. I've been doing the research and reading about the filling and stuff and i learned that there's no such thing as speeding up the process but I still want to hear your opinions regarding this. Will appreciate your replies. Thanks for taking your time to read this!

  7. dont have to send ur BC together with the I-129F and the US passport size pic is like our 2x2 pic... with white background...

You don't need to send your Birth Certificate with the I-129F application.

They ask for a copy of your Birth Certificate in the Checklist you receive in the first package from the US Embassy before your interview.

They do however, need the Petitioners birth certificate in the I-129F application!

    Good luck

    :)

Thanks godsgift! Thanks KirstyDustin! By the way what did u put in the address of service center in your cover letter??the california service center or the dallas texas address?

  8. Hi guys! Im new to this site and we're assembling my k-1 package. I have a few questions and I hope you can help me.

    1. I checked on the VJ package checklist http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide and it didn't say here that as a benificiary i need to send him my birth certificate. I already sent him what i need to send based on this checklist including signed g-325a, signed letter of intent to marry,my passport-type photo, and some of the receipts he left me like hotel receipts and remittance receipts. As i was reading forums about k1 visa, some says i need to send my birth certificate. Some says not. Now I'm confused. I told my fiance about it and he said I dont have to worry because I can just scan my birth certificate and send it to him then he will print it. Makes sense but my worry is do I have to send him the original so in case we get an RFE he can respond to it as soon as possible?

    2. I had my picture taken here in Photoline in SM and asked the photographer that I need a passport-type photo for my visa. He said "Ok Ma'am! I know it." That being said, i trusted him thinking he knows what he's doing. After getting the pictures, I send the documents through LBC. When I get home I checked the photos for the US travel state specifications if its right and I just realized it should be 2x2. It's a bit smaller to the standard 2x2 sized photos I have and same size with my sister's photo in her Philippine passport. Now Im worried about it coz my fiance already received the documents I sent him. I had that pictures saved in my USB so maybe I can just forward it to him then have him print it himself. What do you think? By the way, It also says on the specifications not to retouch or otherwise enhance or soften the photo BUT the photographer removed some pimple marks in my face though its not that obvious. :D My fiance said I look like ghost in that photo. LOL. Maybe because Im not smiling in the photo. But he said everything else is fine except the size of the photo. Im really worried about it. Do you think I should get another picture taken?

I badly need opinions coz he's about to file it maybe tomorrow or Saturday for him but we can file a day later as long as we get everything settled. We're trying to avoid RFE here and we want everything to run smoothly. I will appreciate all your replies. Thanks for reading and God Bless!
